How have the Aquatica Lines been going? Imagine that alot of Southern schools are out by now and folks are in full vacation mode...

Anyone?????When it first opened, crowds were pretty bad around spring breaks and Easter...

Thnx...:)

Was there this morning.

School IS out for many of the locals now, but an "At Capacity" day is still an an at capacity day.

So, I didn't notice any difference from all the other weekends where they hit capacity (basically all of them)... except that I believe the park filled up quicker. I got there at around 9:30am, but I can say with relative certainty that the park was probably at capacity by 10am... I was in the second to last parking row and there were still lots of folks in line behind me to get in. So, as always, the same advice prevails... GET THERE EARLY.

Lines were on par for the norm, although they were already pretty full when I wandered in (again, I got there at around 9:30am... you're better off showing up at 8am). But they were still the usual.

Good luck! =)

How was last Thu or Fri?????

Anyone????

And when it does close....does it open later, any one have experience with that yet?

Wasn't in the park, but driving around at lunch, no signs of it closing either day. Very curious to see if weekday closings start this week or next.

The park does re-open eventually. The phone message almost always says "around 4:00 p.m.," that seems to be the standard corporate line.

From what DixieDolphin said, it sounds like weekends are still the same pattern--closing about an hour after "official" opening. Earlier opening, even earlier closing time.

We were there on Saturday. Got tickets on-line so was able to enter at 8:00. By the time we got ready to go on slides (about 8:30), the lines were already pretty long. And chairs next to umbrellas were all but taken at 9:00.

I saw the last car let in around 10:30. We left at 2 pm and came back at 5:00. The sign out front says it opens back up at 4:00. When we were back at 5:00, there was plenty of parking space. But lines were still long for the main slides. When I say long, they look long, but only took 10-15 minutes. The flyers were closed when we got back at 5:00. By 8:30 - 9:00 pm lines were much shorter.

The reason we left around 2 was that we did not want to wait in the 1/2hr or more long lines to get food. They were still that long at 2. Our friends got the all you can eat meal deal and still had a 1/2 hr wait in line around noon time.

OUCH.

I haven't eaten there since my initial run through of trying the different restaurants, so I had no idea the lines for food were so out of control. Ugh!

Personally, I think the food there is mostly terrible (which is surprising, as A-B parks usually have GREAT food!).. so I either come in the morning and go home by lunch or show up in the evening after I've already had dinner. Or, less frequently, I'll do a half Sea World / half Aquatica day and make sure to eat my meal on the SW side.

=)

Update--today (Thursday, 6/12), AQ did close for capacity.

Amazing, when you think about it. A park with roughly the capacity of Animal Kingdom...already open for months...closing for capacity on a non-holiday weekday. They must be kicking themselves they didn't go twice as large, or build this 10 years ago.

Just as a "point of comparison" anyone know if during the week, does Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon close early in am? If so, by about what time during the week?

Many thanks..."still comparison shopping"..vacationing in Orlando mid August..
will be watching threads to compare crowd levels...

Thx as always for more info!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were at Disney last August 8-15, and Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon closed every day, but reopened around 3 if my memory serves. We were there first thing and ready to leave by one or so. They also have a recording about the reopen time. We found if you go early (to any of the parks) it is your best bet for some fun before it gets too long to wait. No sleeping in on vacation, you can sleep at home!:rotfl2:
