Aquatica 1

i visited Aquatica, which is seaworlds waterpark, and is new. the ride where u see the dolphins isnt clear though.
I haven't made it over yet but I heard you're going to fast to see anything. A co-worker took his son a few weeks ago when they had the Passholder preview and liked it but you're going too fast to see the dolphins.

I think whether you can see the dolphins depends on when you ride Dolphin Plunge. At some times, when the air temperature and the water temperature are just so, the tubes fog up.

When I've been there, the tubes have been clear.

I'd love it if you could give us a more detailed review. I think many of us would consider adding it to our Universal vacations.

I'm working on a new book devoted just to the Busch parks in Central Florida.

Hopefully, I'll be able to post bits and pieces as I go along.

My overall take on Aquatica is that it strikes a middle course between Wet 'n Wild and the highly-themed Disney water parks. It's very spacious and laid back, beautifully landscaped, with none of the ultra speed slides that attract the teen daredevil crowd. So my guess is that they're aiming for more of a family crowd. . . An upscale family crowd, considering that cabanas go for $150 a day ($175 after Memorial Day)!

Food's a notch or two above what's available at other water parks. And there's plenty of beer!

I saw the dolphins on the slide. You do go fast... but if you are on the left slide turn your head to the left, right side to the right and if they are swimming by, you will see them. I had my head pinned down on that 3rd ride and they were right there.

I definitely would not wait over an hour to do that slide...

And on the food: I thought it was great! And this is coming from a vegetarian, picky eater who even has trouble at Disney. I would go back to Aquatica for the beach, that one slide that is like a funnel/toilet, and the food, just for a day to relax (granted, I am recently relocated to Orlando, so it's easy to get people to go places with me when they come to visit...).
