Wondering if anyone has personal experience or see anyone that is overweight get stuck / flipped ect. in Aquaduck? I hate putting my weight out there but here it goes...I'm 5'7" 270 lbs - Pooh sized if you will.

I am a single mom going alone with my 6 year old daughter who wants to do ride the Aquaduck. But she won't go alone. Would it not be safe for me to ride with her, let alone by myself? TIA

The Unofficial Guide to the DCL (guidebook) reported some feedback from larger guests, I think they gave specific weights. I'll bookmark this thread and come back when I have the book in front of me, but I feel like one of the weights they gave was 350lbs (and still went on it successfully), and also a combined weight of a larger couple riding double. I think the tube is much bigger than it looks in pictures. I'll find the quote and come back but I think you will be fine.

Hi I am a English size 16 and went on with my DS in 2013 and loved it, never felt uncomfortable and the CM at the bottom and I were in stitches laughing as I tried to get off in a lady like manner, in the end I gave up as nobody cares what you look like do it its brilliant

This past August they were making everyone ride double due to high winds. Our combined weight was well over 400 lbs with no issues. I out weighed (by 200 lbs at least) the two little girls in front of us, but I still had to ride double or not at all.

My husband is 6'5 and 400lbs. He rode with my daughter who is 45 lbs. They never had a problem.

I'm a size 14 and I rode with my 5 y/o and it's fun as hell..the tricky part is GETTING OFF. It took me a couple of tries but the cutie at the end of the ride helped show me how (not helped lift me out)....you have to throw your legs over the side and use the bar to lift yourself up...it's a bit tricky and you don't have much time because there's another float right behind you.

Go, it's a blast..

What do the high winds have to do with it? (Genuinely curious, never been on it so I don't understand.)

I agree with everyone... My dad is 6'1 and pushing 300. He road with my mom (200 lbs) a few times and LOTS with my kids!

There are two parts of the ride that is not enclosed (top is open). That is when you drop down into the dip and then the water jets propel you back up the other side. I'm assuming that if it is windy, they want to make sure there is weight on the front of the raft to prevent the wind from getting under the front and flipping it backwards. That is why it wouldn't matter how big the single rider was during these restrictions because single riders sit in the back and you would still need weight in the front.
Just a guess.

My husband and 8 year old son went on it multiple times - their combined weight is around 420 pounds. No issues, they had a blast!

Glad to hear all of the positive responses. My 17yr old DD will be glad to hear she can ride with no problems.

My mom and I are both size 16/18 and we road together, never had a problem at all. I agree with the PP that mentioned that sometimes getting out is an issue, but I've seen people much larger than I, getting out with a lot less issue, so I blame my coordination for that problem. :o

I too am Pooh size, almost exactly the same height and weight as you, and I rode the Aqua Duck on the Fantasy with no issues! Enjoy the ride! It's a blast!

Another one saying that getting out of it is the hardest part. I'm not even plus-size anymore, and I do yoga and pilates and things like that for core strength (which I personally did not have before), but I fell right on my rear when I was trying to stand up after DS had gotten up. Oops!

Thank you for making this thread! And thank you for those that are responding :)

I'm a size 16/18 and found that some slides in waterparks don't have enough water and kind of get stuck on the way down (so have to scootch!). It's nice to know that this hasn't happened.
When my husband and I go on, we'll be just over the 400lbs mark!

Thank you all so much! I feel better now. Now all I have to do is get over my claustrophobia. I just imagined I stopped the tube up and water rushed up our noses and all. LOL. But of course I'll do it if it means my little girl is happy :)

search youtube for POV videos on the Aquaduck. Then you will have "experienced" it prior to your cruise. You'll know then if you can handle it or not.

I also can get claustrophobic but I did not feel that way at all on the Aquaduck. The tubing is mostly clear and very large. It also goes by quick.. Super fun..
