didn't look at rack rate for poly yet but this is peak season and akl standard was $340

OK, I just called and had the AP rate applied:
Hotel: Poly
Dates: March 1-9
Room #1 - MK View:
Original Rate: $5646 AP Rate: $5117

Room #2 - Garden View:
Original Rate: $4252 AP Rate: $3722

FYI - for the garden view, March 1st - rate went from 485 to 444. For March 2-6, rate went from 485 to 379. Hopefully, a discount will come out later for the last 2 nights. I have the breakdown for MK View, if anyone wants it let me know.

I called Disney this morning and got AP rates at value resorts for late February. It was $79 a night weeknights and $114 a night for weekends.

I saved $100 on a five night stay.

Had the AP rate applied to our reservation this morning. Staying at the Yacht club, standard, $354/night 2/24-2/28, 2/29 is $419/night. Went down $230 for the whole stay from our AAA rate (plus didn't have to pay $60 to join!). We were happy!

Thanks so much for the Poly Rates!:woohoo: Unfortunately we don't arrive until March 15th so I'm now biting my nails waiting for the next rate. I guess my only concern is that some people have said that because March 23rd is Easter that we might not get AP rates for the week before or week of Easter. Fingers crossed that we'll be able to get them!:scared:

I hardly remember a time when the boards have been so quiet on the day an AP rate is released. In the past there would be tons of posts and lots of excitment and I read first thing this morning about the release and still, just a handful of folks taking advantage of this. It was on intercot first thing when I logged in this AM, and also on mousesavers too. I guess it's not the rate or time everyone is waiting for.

Just changed my ressie from AAA to AP (Feb 19 - 26 at POP). I don't have my original ressie with me from AAA, but I think it was around $863, I'm down to $700.

More for food and souvies:dance3:

It was -2 when I pulled into work this morning at 7:30.......I can't wait for Florida weather....I hope it's better in February than it is right now:goodvibes

Yep, have to say I am disappointed. We go down on the 14th, and I had hoped for atleast a few days of AP rates before the blackout. Oh, my, Peak rack rate. Wow. :sad1: Less money to spend on souvenirs and dining, I guess. and absolutely no deluxe for us this year.

It was -25 this morning .......!!!:surfweb:
I can't wait for Florida weather....(me too):cool1:

What your's favorites choices for 5 peoples?
Two rooms at value or Poly or suites at value?
Is there AP discout for suites in values?

Check-in dates: 2/29/08-3/7/08.

I had a ressie at POFQ using the AAA rate and was able to save about $50.00 for a 3 night stay at POR, wanted to change anyways since the pool will be closed POFQ, not alot of money but still worth it. I would have liked to get the WL but with the new pricing of the weekend days it simply is not worth it for me......at those prices Prince Charming had better be tucking me in at night!:goodvibes

ok, I'm not coming to the world until March 15th. This is my 2nd trip with an AP. Anyone have a clue if there will be a discount for the rooms at Pop Century that week?

Since that is a week before Easter, is doesn't look promising. I would prepare yourself for no discounts.

I thought the same thing, very strange but i think less folks have them because they are just not worth it for th discounts anymore.:confused3

By the way for those that received a discount, can you tell me approx what percentage off you received?

thanks

I guess you're correct about less people buying the AP. Glad I buy it only for the park admission and save money because we are DVC members.

I did the math and since a value room cost $119 a night (Sun-Thur) ($129 on Friday and Saturday). The AP rate is $79 a night so that is a 33% savings, which is actually better than the current bounce back promotion. I think that is an excellent deal. People see $79 and think, that's alot, but most are not focusing on the regular room costs $119 a night vs value season when a value room cost only $82 a night. I booked my January 26th night a Pop with the last round of AP rates and am paying $69 a night, but it's for a Saturday night and the discounts are not as good for the weekends, but just needed a night before moving to the AKV for a week.

That is a nice discount 33% especially compared to my 10% with AAA. However when I did the math on the Poly which is $465 before discount and $379 with, i only found that to be around 19%, is my math wrong?:teacher:

Your math looks fine to me. You got me curious so checked out the moderates too and for a standard room during peak season -- weekday rate (weekend is higher). The rate is $189 and the AP rate is $139 which is a 26% discount. Looks like the value resorts are offering the biggest discount in terms of percentage.

Here's what I've figured out for our May Trip...

I have 10% off room only for AKL, saving me $193. If an AP comes out for my time frame at only a 19% discount, it will save me approx $217 with the extra cost of an AP over 7 day hopper and DDE savings. If a disney visa or general public code comes out for the free water park and hoppers(like last year) even with no room discount it will save me $263(I was planning on 1 water park day not included in our hoppers). I know I am nickel and diming these discounts but you know what it's like for the obsessive planners. I just want the best deal for our plans.:wizard:

I got the email yesterday and called as soon as I got it. I was able to get the discount applied to our Pop Century stay. (One poster asked about two value rooms v. a room at the deluxes - we chose the double room option. Two bathrooms and a separate bedroom for the parents!!)

I was disappointed that the weekend discounts were less than the other days. Our flights are fixed so we're just going to be happy with our $15/night discount for those two nights!

Are you a Florida resident? I've only seen Florida residents get this code, except one person from NY. What rate did you get for Pop and what are your dates.
