April will be "Incredible"-y Fun!

Morning Incredibles!!!

Sounds like everyone is doing well with exercise.

Boot camp-oh yes I remember it well. DH and I did it together once, that was even more fun. DH is the most un-flexible, agile person around, so he looked so funny sometimes trying to do the exercises. Watching him kept me smiling, even when I felt like dying.

I got in a run on the mill this morning, weight is finally moving in the right direction:thumbsup2.

Keep up the good work everyone! And for our new Incredibles, please don't hesitate to jump right into the fray, we are a nice bunch of folks. Really.;)

Just a quick morning Hello to my fellow incredibles!!

I am on week 7 c25k, and today I ran 2 miles straight!!! It took about 33 min, and I was pretty happy with that. It definintely got easier after the halfway mark, and when I was at a mile and a half, which was the furthest I did last week, I just pushed, and really wanted to make that milestone. I am still amazed how much I'm enjoying this.

Alicia- I read your blog, and it was so helpful and inspiring for me to read. I loved your suggestions for people like me, planning for their first half marathon. Thank you for sharing that. You must be so proud to have accomplished that, and it was also good to knw that you got emotional, because I am a very emotional person, and know I will be crying at the end of any race.

MIckeymomto2, I hope you are feeling better soon, and up for your race saturday.

Gotta run to work. have a great day all.

Happy Tuesday Everyone:cool1:

Completed W5D1 yesterday and did not have a problem with the time, but my distance was slow. First time DH joined in and of course he breezed right through it. Just isn't fair. Weight is staying the same, but I have noticed a change in the way my clothes are fitting. DH is also helping me expand my weight lifting routine.

Keep up the pace:flower1:

Hi everyone. Well, I decided to kick the C210K program to the curb. I went for 4.5 miles again last night (in 52 minutes... is that bad?). I just feel like I can run a decent amount without walking, so now I want to increase the distance and cut back on the time slowly. I'm hoping to get another run in by Friday but I know I'll havta hit the treadmill... and I'm really loving running outside again.

ScubaMickey - I hear you on the weight staying the same! I've been the same weight for two weeks even though I upped the intensity or my running and everything. I thought I was about flawless but apparently not. Hopefully, we'll both do better this week.

Mikamah - Congrats on hitting two miles! That really is an accomplishment!!! C25K did wonders for me when I first started out running. I'm glad it's working so well for you! Keep it up!

Vern - Hurray for the scale budging for you (can your scale have a talk with mine, please?)! Your comment about watch DH being so uncoordinated made me laugh... my DH is the same way!

Mickeys#1Fan4ever - That is absolutely genius! Why didn't I think of that? I need to start imagining Bob and Jillian screaming at me too!! Got to remember that! I love that show. Me and my DS (2.5 years old!) watch it every Tuesday and when DH gets home on weekends, it's the first show he watches on the DVR.

donac - What a shame your DH isn't interested in DVC. It sounds like it'd be great for you guys. Mine is very interested.. .we're just very broke right now!

MickeyMomto2 - How are you feeling today? I'm sure you'll be feeling a lot better by your 5K and that adrenaline will help you on your run! Fingers crossed for you!

Lisa - How exciting that you booked for the Princess already! We're still trying to decide if we're going to vacation before or after the race. I'm thinking more AFTER now. We're hoping for Poly.

Morning everyone!

Mikamah - two miles is awesome! Great job.

MickeyMomto2 - hope you're feeling better!

ADPiSpaz16 - that's a great distance and time. How come you got rid of the program though? I'm loving it so far.

Good Morning, Everyone! Hope your day is prettier than the dreary day we're having here!

VernRDH - Congrats on the scale moving in the right direction!

Mikamah - Congrats on your 2 miles! That is an AWESOME accomplishment!

MickeyMomto@ - Hope you're feeling better!

ADPiSpaz16 - 4. 5 miles is 52 minutes sounds great to me!

As for me, I actually ran a whole 5k in 35 minutes last night! I do most of my running on a treadmill because that way I can leave my daughter in the playroom, and I'm pretty sure that the treadmill I used needs to be recalibrated or something because I always seem to be faster/run longer on it... but it's an AWESOME confidence booster... and the way I see it, I was certainly running (albeit slowly) for 35 minutes... not too shabby! And in other exciting news.... I've run/walked over 100 miles so far this year! Again, not too shabby!

I've signed up for another race in Philadelphia next Friday night... My friends talked me into it because it's supposed to be a fun party run... I should have done a bit more research on it, though, because I found out that it's not a 5k, but a 4 miler!!!:eek::eek: What's an extra mile, though, right?!?! I'm hoping to finish in 55 minutes, but as long as I cross that finish line, I'll be happy!

Hope everyone has a great day!

So DH is letting me buy some running gear for my birthday which is on Friday. I've been "shopping" online at work all day and picked out: a visor, Body Glide, a hydration pack, socks, shorts, a shirt and a sports bra. Now I just need to give him the grand total and hope he doesn't pass out! He should have given me a limit to begin with!! ;)

Tara - Hurray on your 5K time! That's awesome. So is the fact that you've done 100 miles so far this year. I'll hit 50 this week and I'm pretty excited about that! No sweat on the 4 miler. You can do a 5K, you can do four miles!

Amy - I dropped the C210K because I was able to do 4.5 without any walking. The walking part was getting annoying for me so I figured I'd take it out and then start adding some distance. I'm going to map out a five mile run and run it when DH gets home on Friday. That'll give me a better idea if I should go back to it or not.

BIG NEWS (LOL). Got a 40% off PIN from Disney Destinations just now... should I book for the Wine & Dine Half Marathon???

HOORAY for you! You'll do fine in the 4 miler! My philosophy is the same as yours--as long as I cross the finish line, I'm happy!

Jess, you lucky girl getting to buy all that cool stuff!!

As far as your c210k, if you feel you can run with out the walk breaks and they are really more annoying for you than anything, then I say go for it!! Doesn't mean you can't walk if/when you feel the need. I do even during races. You will learn what your body will tolerate and if it says "whoa I need a little breather" then take it! Nothing wrong with that at all.

Keep up the good work ladies. I was thinking of my Incredible team on my way home today, when I heard (and cranked up really, really loud) my running song. Van Halen's Right Now.

I am glad to be the captain of such a great team!

Today's workout: 4.8 miles in 58:13 (4.94 mph, averaging a 12:07 mile)... not bad! It was cold out, so I wore the sweatshirt I bought at Animal Kingdom last month. Of course, by mile 3, I had to roll the sleeves up!

Hi there Incredibles!

So....for whatever reason I decided that I wanted to do another boot camp class today....my thinking "different teacher means a totally different class"....well, it was a different teacher and he was even HARDER than the one yesterday. I've been so sore today I could hardly move! I used muscles in that class last night I forgot I even had and then tonight's class found even more :rotfl: My prediction is that I will not be able to get out of the bed tomorrow. I honestly can barely move right now. Just sat for 30 minutes in the hottub...didn't help! I know it is good to have a well rounded exercise routine, but gee whiz I think I'm gonna stick with just running!

Then the worst part was that I was so starved after the class I came home and ate a couple pieces of pizza.....a veggie/chicken pizza, but still it was pizza :confused3

So now I'm gonna curl up and watch the Biggest Loser!

Good night all~

Patsy-you go girl!! Two boot camps in a row! Hope your muscles recover soon.

Everyone is doing so great with their running!! We do have an incredible team. Thanks for the Marathoning for Mortals suggestion. It came on monday, and I can't put it down. It has so many great suggestions, and I like how he described what your muscles are doing when you over work them multiple days in a row. I also liked that his half marathon plans are 14 weeks, which makes me think that doing the princess in march is doable. He suggested running for a year before you train for a long race, but if I keep it up, I will have been running for a year at the time of the princess. I really need to work on my eating again.

Vern- thanks for being our captain. I loved van halen in high school. We went to a couple of their concerts, and I'm sure I have their albums somewhere in my basement too. :rotfl:

Mickeys#1Fan4ever- way to go on the second boot camp class. Now will you take a day off to recover?

roomthreeseventeen-Congatulations on your speed and your pin code!! Did you book? I think you should!! I'm very excited for you. Did I see you over on the free dining wait thread? I'm waiting for the end of august codes to come out. I booked our flights, so just waiting for deal.

ADPiSpaz16- Congrats on 4.5 miles!! That's an awesome accomplishment. The couch programs are good, but it sounds like the 10k doesn't increase the running enough for you. didn't you say a few weeks ago that was why you liked it, and look at you now. Nice work.

MommyTaraLee- Congrats on running a full 5k!!! That is awesome!!! 35 minutes is not shabby at all in my book.

ScubaMickey- Congrats on c25k progress!! Don't let the husband sailing through it get to you. We're all different and all need to work at a pace that 's good for us. You're doing great.

Lisa- So excited for you to have your hotel booked for the princess. I am so excited to do the princess. We will have to increase our speeds to allow for photo ops along the way with the characters. I'm a bit of a camera fanatic. If you have time, I loved reading alicia-leeshiebeans blog about the princess.

Off to work now. Have a great day everyone. Keep up the running!!!

Yes, booked BC 10/1-10/3.

Oh most definitely taking a day off to recover! Fortunately my son has a swim meet so that will eliminate the possibility of another bootcamp class :rotfl: I don't think I could do a squat right now if my life depended on it!

Patsy ~ Way to go! 2 boot camps in a row is impressive!! Hope you're getting around ok today!

Yesterday was an no-running day (I try to skip 1 day in between to protect my knees!) I did a core workout video for the first time... but I'm not impressed..... I still need to figure out what I want to do on the off running days. I know I want to do some weight training... the machines just look so intimidating! :confused3: Tonight, after pizza and gymanstics with DD and her friends, I'm back to running! I hope I can keep up the 5k pace from Monday... I may even get adventurous and move away from the wonky treadmill onto one of the others! :lmao:

Hope you're all having a great day!

I am still coughing some from being sick this weekend, but I managed to run 3 miles today (we have an air quality alert here right now as well, so that's not helping any with my asthma). I think I am going to go ahead and sign up to do the 5K on Saturday. If I was able to finish today, surely I'll feel even better by Saturday. I am excited because my husband has decided to run too. He has run for years, but never in a race. I think he is going to do the 10K. My goal is to be sure I finish my 5K before he finishes 10!!!

Mikamah - Thanks for the encouragement...Glad to hear you are enjoying your new book. Please share a few tips with us as you finish each chapter.

Jess - I want to go shopping with you:cheer2:

Keep up the Pace Incredibles:thumbsup2

ScubaMickey

Hi all! I haven't been able to post much lately and I probably won't be able to for just a little while. I've been really swamped at school (end of semester projects, tests, reports, etc.) and unfortunately, my graduate assistant had to take some time off so I'm having to fend for myself. However, I do want to say that you ladies are doing an INCREDIBLE job of getting out there and getting your steps in.

Keep up the good work! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
