Hi All ~ I just got confirmation that I can take off a week-ish in April for WDW trip!

Air Transat flight from Sat - Sat is about $1600 for the four of us ~ that's way better than our 2001 and 2002 trip prices, plus we pais 1.60 in exchange! We will probably book flights this weekend.

We will start our search for Beach Club DVC point rentals this weekend too!

I just joined CAA and their ticket prices for 7 day hopper & water parks & no expiry are $330 US adults and $292 for kids ~ so we will likely buy those tickets this weekend too!

I'll book a car and VOILA ~ vacation will be planned! YIPPEE!

Blessings ~ Sandra

Sandra, why don't you fly out of Buffalo. It would be almost half of the fare.

Where are you in Canada? We are southern Ontario and fly from Buffalo on Southwest. Flights are much cheaper. Our family of four is flying for under $700. If you can, check it out !

We will be down at the end of April...can't wait...seems like I spend some portion of each day planning or dreaming about planning.... We're staying at
BWV and OKW.

Good luck in your plans!

Let the Planning begin!

Let me know if you need anything!?!

Yippee !!! You get to go ! I'm another one going to chime in for checking into flights out of Buffalo. Download DING from Southwest website. I've also flown AirTran out of Buffalo, but we couldn't get a direct flight so had a brief stopover in Atlanta. Recently 2 of us flew for $194 US total! 4 of us flew another time for $700 US -- that was before I knew about DING fares!

Hope you're able to get BCV ... they're awesome! I loved SAB, and most of all, being able to walk to EPCOT. :cool1:

Happy Planning!

Yeah!!!!

Let us know if we can help although I too would suggest looking into flying out of Buffalo.

Do we need passports? I don't recall the date we need them?

THANKS ALL! I'm thrilled! I would prefer to rent points from a follow CDN Diser ~ so if that's a possibility.......... :wizard:

BLESSINGS, SANDRA

Sandra, sent you two emails regarding BCV etc.

Sandra Disney Fanatic has a room booked for some friends of ours that are now not joining us so the reservation can be changed over to your name if you like and you just have to send her the money I sent you a PM regarding this it would help out both her and I and yourself to get the place you want to stay at a very great rate.

Another Southwest Buffalo fan here. We're going in 3 weeks ::yes:: out of Buffalo for $35.00 US each way! :rotfl: Total came to $112.00 CND for each of us!!! :cool1:

Go Buffalo!!!!

As for anything else: Just ask. I've got plenty of opinions. Sometimes I have two opinions on single topics. :)

Jim.

With Southwest you are looking at $1246.40 US (taxes included) approximately. Savings approximately $100.00 Cdn. but I don't know if the 1600 is tax included if not savings go up tremendously!

Just an FYI.

How far in advance did you book this flight? Was it a last minute seat sale? :confused3

We just booked our flights yesterday. Westjet Direct flight from Toronto. $95 each way per person. Feb1 - Feb 13. So for the four of us that totalled CA$1183.16. We had originally planned to drive and budgetted $500each way for gas & hotels. We'll arrive early - instead of driving for 2.5 days we'll be sitting at a pool. No rental car expenses since we'll be on site throughout.
Keep looking out for sales - we were constantly checking SouthWest, Air Canada etc. but of course flying out of Toronto is less hassle and with this good price it was worth it. I probably would have hesitated flying out of Buffalo . . . just the thought of getting there on time and leaving the car in a parking lot for two weeks . . . and what if the weather is snowy driving down or coming back. . . they always seem to get it worse than us!

We got a "DING" on Christmas Eve and we had until Dec 26th at 1 minute past midnight to decide if we wanted it or not, so yes this was a last minute trip BUT there are just as great fares coming and going when you download Ding and if you've already booked the dates at a higher fare, Southwest will give you a credit to be used within 1 year so it really works out pretty good considering what we are charged to fly out of Canada. :teeth:

I was also told the other day that Pearson is the most expensive airport to fly from in the world..........and I can believe it! :scared1:

We got the DING on Christmas Eve too and have a credit which we'll use later on this year. For the two of us it's $201.50 so for 4 that would be $403US. Even taking a 20% exchange which is pretty high that would be $463.45CDN -- well worth the drive to Buffalo IMHO.

We haven't encountered any problems flying out of Buffalo and much prefer the Buffalo airport to Pearson. There would be no difference to us leaving the car at Pearson vs leaving it at Buffalo.

I totally agree with you cdnmickeylover ::yes:: we've flown with Southwest via Buffalo and love the service we get plus the airport is much smaller than Pearson and much easier to navigate. ::yes::

We live in Simcoe Ont. (Lake Erie) and the drive to Buffalo isn't any big deal to us. As our flight is leaving first thing in the morning we're taking a hotel (Ramada airport)the day before, with a complimentary breakfast and park and fly for the vacation time needed (they'll actually keep your car for up to 3 weeks). We also like the fact that we clear customs at the border instead of MCO. :flower:

Just my opinion but I would pay the same(maybe even more) to fly out fo Buffalo as I would Toronto.

The buf airport is much simpler to navigate, no enormous security/custom lines. Curbside check in! The biggest reason is it drives me insane to pay the disgusting amount of taxes and surcharges added to the ticket price when flying out of Pearson.

:cool1:

Have fun planning Sandra - remember April isn't that far away!!

PS - I think ( :teeth: ) I just got the go-ahead from DH to start planning something for us this year - so it looks like maybe summer for us!
