April vs May crowds

I may be overthinking this, but wanted some opinions.
I was going to schedule our May '09 trip for next year for the first full week of May. I just noticed that my dd has May 1st off, which is the Friday of the last full week in April.
I planned on May, because of the suggested lower crowds during that time. Do you think there would be a big difference between the last week in April or the first week in May.
I didn't know if that would still be considered a busy spring break time.

Sorry if this is a bit nitpicky, just wanted some opinions.

Thanks.

We went the last week of April 2007 and the crowds were horrible. We were there the 1st week of May 2008 and the crowds we much lower than last year. The weekend was really crowded but there was pretty much no wait during the week.

This phenomenon of insane crowds is due to Spring Break - which lasts from the end of February to later days in April, when you consider the spring break seasons for many different countries converging all at once in Walt Disney World. (Of course, Easter weekend doesn't help either.) I find May is a better season . . . but then you have to beware June as American kids are all on summer break at that time.

End of April... crazy...
I'd go with early May.
We just got married in Disney on 4/28, we thought the crowd would've died down from spring break but they had cheerleading competition, disney games (with disney celebs), grad nights... etc.
If I could move the wedding to may I would've but my family couldn't make it then...
Now our anniv will be during crazy crowd week... blah...
I think our anniv will be delayed a couple weeks every year... ;)

Just went the first week of May 2008 (5/4 to 5/9) and the crowds were great (i.e. lack of them). I vote for any time in early May.

Thanks, May it is. It's a couple points less in May too which is always a bonus.

I doubt missing one extra day in kindergarten will be a big deal.

Hi, I am also thinking of going the first week of May in 09, but am wondering if it is really hot then. I know that this past pay was unusually hot in Disney World. Do you think it would make a diffrence weatherwise going earlier in May or later?

May is GREAT~ We HAD gone the last 7 years (DD started school this year so we didn't go)! Weather is usually great although we've had early May trips w/COOL evenings. One time even no pool b/c of it being cool. Crowds are low (except Mother's Day)....
