April shower for august wedding?

It depends. Does the couple already have a house together? I had a friend who just got married on 11-11 but didn't move into their home till this week so her shower was in October. Now my wedding is in june but we just bought a house in august so my shower most likely be in February since as of now we are borrowing everything we need.

Not necessarily, especially if there's a reason why you're having it early. Mine was in July and my wedding was in September, it was a little early but my bridesmaids live all over the country and it was the one times that they were all going to be home for the 4th of July weekend, so we just did it then. Whatever works for you!

I dont think so. I was lucky enough to have 2 showers. One back home with my extended family in pittsburgh in august and the one here in virginia with friends, work, family friends, etc here in late October. My wedding is early Jan and i work for Nordstrom (retail) so between work and the holidays i wanted everything done before thanksgiving.

I don't think so-- it just depends on when you have the time.

For example, I'm getting married next December but I'm having my shower in early August. Why? Because I Student Teach that semester and won't have time to help plan (I'm a planner-- my MOH is stuck with me helping ) or the time to enjoy it really.

I think anything more than 6 months before your wedding can be a little early, but even then, it still depends on the circumstances. I also have 6 bridesmaids in 6 different states! But I think April for August is completely appropriate, I wouldn't blink twice if I got an invitation!
