April School Vacation

I know that many states don't have vacation in April (we do in MA). I was originally planning a trip for the first full week of May, 2005, but all my traveling companions are afraid it will be too hot! Has anyone been during the second or third week of April? I'm afraid there may be lingering "spring break" crowds.

Any thoughts/ideas/help is appreciated!

NY schools also have vacation in April. We have been to Disney the 3rd week of April when it was Easter and when it wasn't. It was packed when it was Easter. When it was not Easter it is still crowded but no where near the Easter crowds. The Albany region is the 3rd week of April in 2005.

Hi:
We went this year from april 27 - may 4th because of our spring break in new hampshire. i found the crowds to be great - utilize the fast pass and we were fine.

i went last year from april 3rd - april 10th and also had no problem with crowds for the most part.

i also was afraid of the weather at the end of april but it turned out to be a partly cloudy day on the days we had scheduled the park so it was great - if the sun had been out full force i think it would have been a little tough on the kids. Nothing worse than standing in line while you are hot and cranky :>)

the days that we planned to pool it or typhoon lagoon were really sunny and upper 80s.

unfortunately its a gamble and you have to roll with whatever you end up with - we just tell ourselves that if its brutally hot and the majority want to skip the park then we go with that - i would definitely recommend the water parks if its really hot for the parks. this was our first time doing typhoon lagoon and it really was fun for all ages. - lines were extremely low - maybe a 5 minute wait for everyting and the wave pool is fantastic.

We were there this past April MA school vacation week, the crowds were moderate, but manageable. The weather was absolute perfect; mid-80's every day, no humiditiy until probably Thursday.

Easter 2005 is early, so you should be ok going during MA April school vacation. NEVER go the weeks surrounding Easter; VERY busy as we learned one year.

We went in 2003 during Easter and it was so busy. We still were able to have a good time, did everything we wanted but it was nuts at MK all week, we plan to go in 2005 if all goes well.

Just know that sometimes the heat in April can be just as hot. We went the 2nd week in April 2002. Out of 8 days--- 6 hit over 90, the other 2 were over 85!! Granted the local weather said it was abnormally hot, but it was still very very hot!!
Just to know that if May is your first choice, I'd still go with it.

Another Massachusetts person here who just went for April vacation. The crowds were there but very manageable, especially using fast pass. The weather was PERFECT! 80's every day with low humidity. Another good thing about that time is the flower and garden festival at EPCOT.

We'll be back to the parks next April vacation after our 4-day cruise...

The crowds during May are extemely mamageable. In three years we have never waited more than 20 min (we do use fastpass) for anything except Ariel at MK. The only caveat is that you may hit Grad nights were the MK closes at 6pm and it is almost impossible to drive near the MK when the buses are unloading. Also because of grad nights the parade is usually earlier in the week and no E-nights. It can be hot but we were out early back for a short afternoon break and then back out until the late parks (EPCOT or STUDIOS) closed. I would always go that week if I could.

I too was there MA April vacation, it was busy but not bad and the weather was the best. I heard the 2 weeks prior were just wall to wall people around Easter. Eater is the end of March next year so MA vacation might be OK.
