Hi guys

Well it's been a while since I have been back to these boards, mainly because I get so 'disney sick' from longing to go back when I read the posts lol but anyway we have been plotting with some friends of ours and have decided we are all going to book for 2014. The general feeling is in favour of booking for October but our last trip was in April (15th) and it was the BEST time ever! The crowds were low(ish) and the weather perfect so I am a bit anxious to book for October.

I guess my long winded question is, which is the best month to go (in your opinion), April or October?

xx

We've done both - twice each - and they are very similar in many ways. Our October trips saw much lower crowds because the April visits we did coincided with Easter weekend, but we saw one shower and one day of rain over all four trips! We found October to be slightly hotter but it wasn't humid. The fall decorations and the Halloween parties add something to the atmosphere too. If you'd been in October I'd tell you to go for April. Since you've been in April, I would recommend you go for October. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either.

If I had to choose I'd go for October because overall we preferred the weather, but it's a win win situation. I think I'd let flight costs be a deciding factor for want of any other factor to influence my decision

Thanks for your reply 2Tiggies - I'm actually really pleased you've said October as from the bits & bobs I've read, the whole halloween thing and food festival sounds fab! The weather was a big factor so it's good to hear it's even better in october.

I think we will more than likely go for this, just wanted to make sure it was a decent time. Thanks again :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 And the room rates are slightly lower, it's easier to get decent priced flights compared to April and free dining has no black out dates over October. I'm so envious! We are tied to school holidays next year for the first time (I've been a rebel up until now) and are going in June/July next year and I'm already trying to see how I can wrangle an October trip for the following year :scratchin The F&W is great too! I really love the atmosphere there and there are ways to work around the higher crowd levels during the Festival. We never ran into any issues with crowds at the F&W.

Def October for the same reasons already stated: great weather, Halloween party, LOW crowds, lower cost. Its a great time to go.

lol, yeah were dominated by the school hols too but are going to take a few days either side of the half term.
Whoop, starting to get super excited about starting the plans now, just need the time to pass quickly!!

Just noticed you've done a TR for one of your october trips so am off to read some of that now....sod bed :rotfl:

I know you've decided but I LOVE October. Food and Wine at Epcot is fab and the weather is great, very little rain. Crowds are low too except on weekends.

Thank you!!! I am actually really excited about the F&W more than anything at the mo!!! I fear this is going to be a very long wait :)

We booked around this time last yr for this Oct and it seemed like forever - i remember our 365 day point! It seems like it's taken ages to come around and now I think the next few weeks will fly by!

We have been to DLC in Oct and the weather was overcast and rainy all the time. Then we went to wdw in early May last year. I plan to do a TR when we come back this Oct. I hope and believe that Florida Oct is much nicer weatherwise than California!

another one for October.:cool1:

we always like the second half of the year, well Sept to Dec, better then the beginning of the year and into the summer months.:goodvibes

I totally forgot that was still in my signature lol. That was actually our first time visiting in October so you can get an October first-timer's perspective :)

We have been both April and October twice each.

I would go with October. April in 2014 will be jam packed crowded because of Spring breakers b/c Easter is late in April next year.

Both of our April trips were more crowded than our October trips and the weather is hotter in April. Very comfortable and perfect weather in October.

So glad I asked you all, always helpful as usual. :thumbsup2

All thats left now is deciding where to stay but thats a whole new thread lol x
