We are a family of four with two kids ages 6 and 4. My parents will also be going with us, and my mom really doesn't like hot weather. The kids love splash mountain and kali, so I definitely want those to be open, and low crowds are a draw. We are used to going in October for Halloween so we are used to that crowd level. We wouldn't want it to be much more crowded than that. TIA for any suggestions!

Unless down for refrub both water rides will operate through out the winter. You can take advantage of the Christmas decorations in November as well. April isn't overly hot either so you can do Flower and Garden and (mini food) festival there as well. Plus you could spend a day at one of the water parks.

We've been both times. April has pretty nice weather and you can count on it being warm. November weather is unpredictable. November is slightly less crowded than April, but if you can go in April and avoid Easter, it wouldn't be noticeably different crowd-wise.

We've been the past two Novembers. In 2013, it rained half the time and was in the low 70s. In 2014, some days highs were in the 50s. Swimming was out of the question and water rides were a drag. We're shooting for April going forward.

Those are our 2 fav. times of year to go, so I don't know how much help I'd be. We try to go to Flower and Garden in April and catch Food and Wine in fall. If anyone in your fam likes gardening or flowers, try out Flower and Garden in April, they also have food and the butterfly house as well as playgrounds for the kids, and so far, you don't have the incredible (for Disney) amount of drunk people, like you do at Food and Wine. However, if you want to catch Christmas stuff more, then shoot for November after checking the usual dates for the parties, parades, etc...

We have gone every Nov and April for the past 8 years. For swimming or water rides you would be much safer with April. Many Nov we can not use the pool, too cold for us! If you stay away from the week before and after Easter, the crowds shouldn't be bad. The flower show is gorgeous! If you decide to go for the Christmas decorations and pick Nov, skip the first week and Thankguving. Both are crowded.

We also did both a late fall trip (November) and an early spring trip (mid-March) and hands down, we'd go back in November. You'll get to experience Christmas at WDW and the crowd are very good, unless you go near Thanksgiving of course!

Thanks Everyone! We have had good luck with Oct. weather, but I am nervous about November for some reason. We left last year on Nov 1 to come home, and it had turned COLD that day. My mom is a huge lover of both Christmas decorations and gardening, so she is not much help:) The free dining in November is certainly appealing, it would be much cheaper than April. We would go either the last week in april thru the first of may (DS birthday is May 2) or the week between Jersy week and thanksgiving

the week between Jersy week and thanksgiving

This is the week we've gone a few times now. We've noticed an increase in crowds and have not had good luck with the weather. This past year, it was in the 50s and 60s. We were bundled up - doesn't sound horrible, but it was windy and overcast and the outdoor rides were a drag. November is definitely a crap shoot with the weather.
