April or May?

We were planning a surprise birthday trip for my daughter who will turn 6 in December. However, we have decided to build a house this year and put off the trip a few months. We have decided to do a trip in April or May. Which is better for low crowds? Which week? Are there any specials during this time?

Never been in April but May is wonderful. I would think you miss the Easter Spring break crowds.

We usually go in March or April, always after Easter break is over. This year we went in May. The crowds were a little lighter in May but it was MUCH hotter. Either month is a beautiful time to go since the flowers are in full bloom!

The past two years I've gone in May, either side of Mother's Day and the waits were typically 10 minutes for rides and I got all my ADR's w/o a problem.

We just returned after visintg 5/01 - 5/08. Most of the rides said 30 mins wait but the longest we waited was 15 mins. Plus, it was hot. 90's and sunny every day. Once the sun went down in the evening, it was perfect weather to hit the parks again. It seemed crowded to me but I've been told it wasn't all bad . Touringplans.com rated our week as 8's and
9's. I would think April would be less crowed.

A lot of NE schools have their spring breaks in April, plus there's Easter - I'd say May.

I am having the same dillema. We had to postpone our August trip this year. We went in April last year, but it was quite chilly at the beginning of our trip. They said they were having an unseasonable cold spell though. I'm thinking of asking DH if he'd want to go in May next year. Sounds like a good month. Good luck with your decision!

Like the others said... April is always an iffy month. Could be hot or chilly. I've been twice in early May. The weather and crowds have always been perfect. Good luck!
