April/May Help Me Pick

Hi everyone!!!

I am in the beginning stages of planning our trip for next spring.

We have gone the last two years during the first week of May and loved it! Crowds great - and weather (this year especially) perfect for us - not too hot.

DH wants us to change it if at all possible as it is starting to interfere with our oldest sons baseball season (he's 7 - and he only missed practice and 1 practice game on our trip this year, not much really). Anyway . . . we have narrowed it down to going the third week in April 15 - 24 OR keeping the first week of May (April 29 - May 8). Dh prefers April - but I was leary of the spring break crowds from the northeast and where ever else that might make it crowded.

The things most important to us are smaller crowds and good weather - not too hot. Just not sure how Easter being in March will make a difference.

What do you guys think - I am such an indecisive person - I figured you'd all be able to give me some good advice!

We went the first week in may a few years ago and it was so NOT crowded. It was wonderful. YOu will still have spring breakers in April.

We were shooting for this September, but we're going to Perdido Key (FL) for a week in August instead.

So, we're moving our WDW trip to May. As a concession for moving the trip we'll have 11 days in Orlando instead of 7.

I'm excited because I'm thinking early May won't see such large crowds. Schools should be getting ready to get out.

I assume late May will see crowds getting larger since schools have started to finish up.

Does anybody know the crowd tendencies through May?

My Husband and I went the first week in May in 2002 we got a great postcard rate for a Moderate. Not Crowded at all it was a little hot about 90. In 2003 we went for are honeymoon and went for 10 days stayed at All Star Movies it was about 95 all week. Not crowded at all. Becasue of the wedding and the honeymoon last year we couldn't afford to go in MAy so we are going in September staying at POP unless some codes come out. If you have any questions please feel free to PM me or just ask. OH it never rained once both times. September I'm sure will be a different story. KELLY

We have gone several times at the end of September and the weather was no worse (heat or rain) as it was for our late May/early June trips. We actually prefer the September time period (as all schools are back in session by then so crowds are definitely down) but with school, sports, etc. it is too hard to pull our kids out of school anymore.

I've been going at various times in May for years now.The last 3 years we've been there a few days the first week of May and it's been just GREAT! Especially just a few weeks ago the weather was so pleasant.

The crowds in May don't really pick up until around Thur or Fri of Memorial Day Weekend.

I wouldn't go in April.Crowded even if Easter is not in April.Alot of places base Spring Break in April no matter when Easter fall that year.

So my vote goes for the 1st week in May!!!
