I posted this awhile back in this thread but here it is again for those that missed it the first several times:


The Dance of a Thousand Codes

This is the third time I've been waiting to use AP rates, and each time, the DIS boards seem to follow the same pattern.

1. The thread starts out young and naive, eagerly awaiting the imminent release of codes.

2. By page 15 or 20, some folks start getting frantic, but the majority of poster realize we're still months away from a code.

3. By page 40, fear begins to set in. People are convince that even if codes come out, there won't be enough!

4. By page 55, the hysteria has taken root! Disney already has too many bookings! Codes aren't coming out!

5. At some point, we're going to hit page 90, and all bets are off. Seas boil, mountians tremble, vacations are cancelled or resort expectations are downgraded to value, or even (dare I mention it) off-site.

6. Magically, one morning... CODES ARE RELEASED! The boards light up with happy posters! Some poor saps aren't able to get into their preferred resort in time, but they at least have the option of selecting a different resort, if they choose.

7. Code Day + 1. Relieved reservation-holders bash their computers with a hammer and vow never to go through this again.

All I'm saying is, don't worry until you have something to worry about! Or, as my dad would say, I'll give you something to cry about!

To any other Code-Veterans -- does that sound about right?

you seem to be experienced in your Disney trips, this will be our third time visiting, second time on the resort. Which res did you like the best ( there are 6 of us), so it's two rooms at value or Wilderness Lodge deluxe, OR cabins??? I'm not too interested in staying in the cabins this May...though. We looked at POR, I like the Magnolia Bend section, if we can get AP rates it will be worth it to rent two rooms. Plus I like the idea of having two bathrooms, esp with four kids....any suggestions???

Do you have to book this package or can you just apply the code to an existing package that I have applied my down payment w/ my Disney Visa??

I applied this discount to a package I paid in full in Dec 2005. After the discount was applied, my confirmation number is the same.

However, I was on hold for a while, which made my think that the CM was having to rebook everything. But nothing on my ressie changed. Still POFQ, same number of people, dining plan, everything the same.

I also did not have to pay for the balance in full. Just the fact that I used my Disney Visa for the $200 deposit was enough.

I am going the 23rd through the 30th same "season" as you and time for 7 nights 8 days and the package is $3,400 with Dining. My son is free so he does not count with the courtyard view. Could be the problem is age of guests going.

I booked my vacation through Disney and includes Park tickets (tickets are hoppers plus water parks) and insurance. I do think that my boys are "costing" me lol. Can I ask how you booked your vacation?

Ok guys, I called tonight and was able to get an AP rate for 5/16-5/21. I asked for a code and if they rates had just come out and the CM said she didn't know. I called for an AAA rate, or an AP rate if available. I asked for WL, AKL and Poly. WL courtyard $210 AKL savannah view $230 and Poly gv $269 (higher than last year).

Everyone should relax codes will be out soon enough most likely first week of NEXT month according to all the averages of when they release them. Take a deep breathe and wait ...Patiently...till next week. Then we can all celebrate

Sometimes some people are able to get them when they first come out and some are not. I think it depends on the CM you get. That happened to me last time. I called and no rates and then called back a little later and got the rate everyone was talking about!~

I'm sure it will. They did last year. They were probably suppose to come out in the morning and someone messed up is all. Same as last year

My eyes are killing me reading all these posts, but it's kinda funny to read these too.
We all just want to know whats up and when. It'll be fun when/if the AP rates come out - it'll be like the running of the bulls or black Friday. LOL
