April/May 2006 Code Watch

Hi, Ours is already booked as well. Do you take the pin code to TA and see if they can apply it?

Thanks,

M

I sent the info to my TA - though, if I don't hear back, I won't be surprised. Will definitely book my own stuff if we go again!

I've already got a MYW package with dining booked for this time frame (it's just a regular booking - no AAA or AP or anything like that). Do you think this code would be able to be applied?

You can try & use this code but it's not on the mousesavers or disney site so I'm not sure its valid.

The code can't be applied until 2/23.

Last year the general public codes came out on March 9th for late April until June or July. I wrote it down because we have ressies for 5/14-5/23 2006 and I want to make sure I don't miss any discounts if they come out. Right now we have POR w/ AAA for $146 per nt(tax included).
We are going to POR 5/19-25. We are paying through AAA. We are staying 6 nights and have the hopper and dining. What is this code thing? I am very new to this whole thing. HELP. My siser sent me a DING and I was able to get a $266.00 travel voucher. I am all for saving!!!!

Not all of us are AP holders. I'm waiting for a general or email code. Since I want to book the dining plan, an AP code won't work for us.

Sorry, I didn't word that right. I was just making the comment that that particular deal wouldn't work for AP holders due to the MYW ticketing. Sorry!

I booked our trip for May 19-25 this evening. I did ask if a code were to come out, would be able to apply it? I was told that it would be no problem at all.

A DING is when you go to southwest airlines website and sign up for there instant notification service. You have to download a program and when their fare sales come out, your computer will 'ding' you. you click on the program running and it will take you to the specials that usually only last a few hours.

I'm just trying to sort this out. What do others think this will mean? If it's just the free upgrade to parkhoppers, then would I be better off sticking with my orginal price with the AAA discount at a value resort? It think I saved around $150ish on an 8 night stay which is the same amount as a park hopper upgrade (and I can still save money on my tickets through ticketmania).

I am not sure exactly what it will mean, but I read it the same way as you -- that if you book a package you get a free upgrade to park hoppers & water parks and more tickets. But I also think that if you booked your package before the ticket prices went up in January, you would end up with a re-priced for 2006 (more money) package but with the free "add-on".

For us it would not be worth it as the only thing we would use from the "add ons" would be the hopper part (not the water parks & more stuff) and we would end up with 2006 ticket prices and the possible loss of a AAA discount on our room rate.

I've got a feeling we are not going to get codes for our trip 4/18 - 25.. :( I have the rooms booked but we are paying $$$$$! Oh well... :(

We are going 5/20-5/27 on our AP. I know where I want to stay , CSR and BC. Should I go ahead and book and hope for a code? Can I change to a value if a code does not come out? Is this why so many people use thier AAA discount and then switched if code is a better deal? Sorry for all the questions. Just trying to figure out what to do.
:confused3

I am debating booking now myself...for the most part I always wait til the codes come out because I don't really set my heart on one place.

As of yet I have not booked anywhere. I may go ahead and do that today although much of my decision on where we will stay will be based on the price of the resort.

I am confident that codes will come out. Just sit tight. I have never not gotten a code or discount. We have been the past two years at peak and hoilday times and have gotten great rates.

Here's hoping they come out soon! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

We really like going in May too... wish the AP rates would come out soon... right now we have AAA rate at Riverside at $120.....

That's not a bad rate. We did CBR for $109 over spring break last year.

LuvMickey28 - how did you get 120 for Riverside? I just got our AAA reservation a couple of days ago and they told me the AAA rate was 131.00. Did you make the reservation yourself or get your AAA rep to do it? Thanks! And congrats on getting the room for 120 - that's a good deal.

I was surfing for something else when I came across a website that looks like it's for travel agents, and saw the above. Could this be the code we're waiting for?

I congratulate you for finding this. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the next "Hot Deal." I think I'll put Travel Impressions in my Favorites list.

Thanks! :) It was really just dumb luck that I came across that site. But it does have a lot of good discount information for Florida hotels, so I'm going to bookmark it too.

We usually go to Disney in May. Last Memorial Day, the AAA discount was the best price I could get, but maybe I didn't book early enough to use a code then since it was a last minute trip. I know in prior years we've gotten pretty good code rates.

It will be interesting to see on 2/23 when this code is supposed to become active if it will include a room discount as well as the free park hopping and water park options. If not, maybe it can be used together with the AAA discount?
