April IS Autism Awareness Month

Kari, I love love love the new designs. I have to ask your for two favors. Could you do for me the someone I love has autism, but put my son with a Mickey or Lion King Simba design? Also can you post the puzzle piece Mickey ears in the Stitch design by itself? That is the best puzzle piece ears I have seen yet. So many times I have tried to make that design with no luck. :goodvibes Thanks for spreading the magic.:thumbsup2

WOW! THAT IS GREAT Thank you. Thank you to all of you for supporting us autistics!
Rumbly- Could you make one that reads "I LOVE MY AUTISTIC WIFE"
I am proud of who I am and not ashamed of my autism. Being autistic IS an EVERY DAY struggle this is true, but we do have clear thoughts in our brains, often it is really really hard to get them out. I LOVE LOVE LOVE DISNEY. I feel Walt is a man of acceptance, and that Disney helps the "ice breaking" to make it more easy for some of us to be proud of who we are.
Disney and Autism Awareness Just as blend-able and chocolate and peanut butter!

Kari, my son has Aspergers syndrome disorder which is in the Autism spectrum. Can you do this one with Goofy, and use the word Aspergers in lieu of Autism. I'm so glad this thread is here to make people aware of how Autism/Aspergers has grown and affected so many children. As always, a sincere thanks for all you do!

Desiree,

I'll do this for you later today or tomorrow!:goodvibes

Kari, whenever you get to it is fine - there's no rush. We leave the end of June....OMG....I can't wait to be in WDW.....

Kari i just love the blank "puzzle" heart, just what i wanted so i could add the kids name, thankyou :grouphug

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

I know these things take time and we've never met, but this kind of thing is so important. It speaks for people who have a difficult time raising their voice. These designs will be on my wife and my computer, and bring a lot of joy to her world.

...and if you go to Mousefest this year, we'll be there (quietly in the back of the group). Just look for the Purple Backpack with all the character signatures on it.

I must say, as an autistic this support from the disney community is all very wonderful and appreciated, but not all of us affected by autism are minors. I see many of these posts relating to younger ones, some of us who are not so "younger" struggle just as much and have for a longer period of time yet there seems to be less awareness for young adults, not so young adults and teens. I do love all the discovery of autism awareness, I just hope that the ACCEPTANCE of ALL with autism extends to OUTSIDE, the "younger" demographic.

Can you think of any type of design that would be good for young adults or teens. I'm happy to give it a try with your help if you have some ideas??

When I started this thread it is was and still is for all people affected by ASD.I don't think anyone tried to leave out anyone with autism. Most of the people including myself have asked for designs for our children. They just happen to be younger children. But this thread is ment for anyone who has ASD or is affected by it in some way.All of our children will live long lives (God willing) and they will grow to be teenagers and then adults still affected by ASD.
Kari was wonderful enough to make a Mickey shirt that says " I love someone with autism". That shirt can be for anyone that has a son with ASD. My son is 9 now but I will still wear the shirt when he is 59.I will make a new shirt of course.:lmao:
So Kari this is just a suggestion for a teenager or adult shirt. How about H.S. Musical cast with the saying "We're all in this together". Maybe with puzzle pieces.

ooooh, that's a good idea. I'll give it a try in the next day or so. :yay:

I'm reading about everyone turning these designs into shirts which brings up a stupid question...How?

How does someone do it, or is there a link to a cafepress page that has them.
