April hours -- Fantasmic!

Maybe this is the norm -- I noticed for April that MGM is listed as closing at 8:30 and yet that is also the start time listed for Fantasmic. So, does the rest of the park close except for those wishing to watch Fantasmic? This works out great incomparison to when I was there in December. Fantasmic was before park closing, 6 pm, and the park closed at 7 pm. By the time we got out of the arena the rest of the park was closing -- except for Osborne Lights.

I realize April is still a bit away and hours can and do often change but I'm hoping they don't cut back the hours.

We were at Fantasmic 12 days ago. The parked closed at 7pm and that is when Fantasmic began. When we exited the show, most of the shops along Hollywood Blvd were still open. Everything else was closed down though.

Fantasmic is usually 8:30-9:00 in May because it has to be dark.

2000 and before MGM was typically open until 10 in April and 11 during the two Easter weeks. reductions began in 2001. Thus, 8:30 is already reduced hours and just hope they don't reduce them more. Offical closing time is time they stop allowing people to get in line for rides and attractions; shops along Hollywood Blvd will actually be open till about 10 or later.

fantasmic showtimes: 8:30pm and 10:00pm

I just went to the site and got a popup that said I was the 1000 visitor and I was selected to received $1001 in travel dollars towards a disney vacation. Is this one of those "you've won, but it will cost XXX to get the prize" or is it something everyone gets as an advertising gimic?
