April 8th, 2012: WONDERful Mexican Riviera!

I resemble this remark! When I first moved to O.C. from New York (almost 17 years ago) I would laugh at people dressed in boots and heavy coats....now, I'm one of them!:lmao: I do love this rain this morning, though! Really love that the rain is supposed to let up for tomorrow as we have plans to go to Disneyland!:goodvibes

Getting super excited for this trip! My DD doesn't know about the trip either! Well, she knows she's going on a cruise, but she doesn't know when we are leaving. My plan is to leave out some candy filled eggs leading from her bed to the downstairs area, where we will have a small easter basket with a stuffed Easter Minnie Mouse in it - alongside her packed suitcase! She's going to be so excited!:yay:

April can't get here soon enough!!!

Normally I wouldn't mind the rain on a Saturday morning because I could just stay on the couch all day. However, ds8 had a 8am soccer game and they actually played in the rain! The two younger ones stayed in the car and I stood outside near the car watching ds play from a distance. They played on artificial turf so I guess it is safe for the kids to play in the rain. Thankfully the rain started early this morning because we were at Disneyland last night!

How nice that the weather cooperated with Disney plans for both of us! :)
Sorry about the rain during the game, however. Did he have fun at least?

On to planning my families trip....I'm considering joining the FE. Chatted with DH about it this morning and he ignored me (staring at a screen:surfweb:). I'm thinking that I'll make decision myself! I think that if stays reasonably sized, we'll give it a try! Guess I need to go and find my room number.....

The surprise sounds wonderful!!!! I hope you're having a great day at Disneyland today. Looks like the weather is cooperating for you :thumbsup2

Wow, so close and yet so far. We were at Disneyland all day yesterday :) It would have been nice to meet you in person.

We love going when it is raining and the crowds were great yesterday. I think the only thing we used fastpasses for were Star Tours and Screamin. We walked right on Pirates and Big Thunder in the early evening. Tower of Terror was a walk on in the afternoon also. I love days like that :thumbsup2

I was at Disneyland yesterday too. We planned the day 2 weeks ago and prayed that it wouldn't rain. My step-dad is a Train Engineer and signs us in. We took DD and her best friend there for her birthday. We were so excited when the weather cooperated.

Wow, how funny that so many of us were at the parks this past weekend.

Oh, my DS will be so excited to meet you and hear about your stepdad's job. He loves the DL trains (well, all trains but especially the DL ones). I wonder if we have met your stepdad. DS loves to do the tender rides and he always stops to talk to the Engineers (whenever he can). A few of them we have talked to multiple times :thumbsup2

Happy that so many of us were at the parks this weekend getting our "fix"!:goodvibes
We had so much fun! We also used FP for Star Tours - where my DD was FINALLY chosen as the "rebel spy"! She was so excited! Can't wait to go back....would tomorrow afternoon be too soon? heehee

A friend introduced me to a store today and I'm currently experiencing a shopping high as I found my dress for formal night. It's a bit outside of my comfort zone, but my friend wasn't letting me walk out of the store without purchasing it! Love her!

Can we just get on the ship tomorrow?

That is so funny about the "rebel spy" because my son was chosen on Fri night! He was so excited! Fri was the first time I had been on ST since they reopened so I had no idea they did that. I normally sit off with dd but I made her try it for the first time Fri night. She held onto Grandpa with one hand and my hand with the other. She had the death grip at times. When the ride was over she no longer had her galsses on. They bounced right off her face! LOL :lmao: Needless to say, she didn't like the ride.

No tomorrow afternoon is not too soon. Dd and I will be heading there on Wed to do more girly rides since she didn't get the chnace to Fri with her brothers. I'm thinking about doing breakfast at the Plaza Inn.

My stepdad is Engineer Cliff. He hands out little train beads and a business card to the kids saying thanks for riding my train.

OK, now that is really funny because I was selected as the Rebel Spy on Saturday. :rotfl2: My DH is getting jealous because he is the only one in the family that hasn't been the Rebel Spy yet and I have been selected twice, LOL.

Awww, too cute about your DD :) We still haven't tried the breakfast at the Plaza Inn. We need to do that one of these days.

OMG...that is so cool!!! We have two of those train beads sitting on our keepsake shelf at home (with DS's other train figurines)!!! DS was so excited when he received them!! Next time you speak to him, please let him know how much my train-loving DS appreciates them :)

Alright, The snow is finaly melting, and the power is back on after 5 days of no power, living on the generator.

The seattle area was hit pretty good with record snow and then Ice which just knocks down trees and power lines.

We are ready, can we speed up the time? Baseball season picks up for DS soon, (they work all year indoors, its time for some games) that will help speed up time.

We are working on some magnets for the door, and I am working on a suprise for the family, Pillow cases embroidered with name and date etc.. then I will drop them off to be signed, I don't think they know this is possible so it will be a nice souviner for them

Does anyone know where I can get Disney pillow cases?
I was trying not to do just plain white, but a case with a desing on it, then use the fabric markers for autograpgs.

How may are on this meet link?

Sorry about your bad weather up there. Just talked with my brother (he lives in the Ballard area) and he said that they had power but were really unable to get out. Still can't believe you saw that much snow! Crazy!

Look on Etsy.com for your pillowcases - it's a crafty, chick website. Type in 'disney pillowcase' in the search bar. Hopefully you will find something you like!:)

Not really sure how many are on this meet link. It's pretty quiet around here though....(crickets chirping in the background).

You could try eBay for the pillow cases. There is a seller there (gradysmommy, I think) that does Fish Extenders but she may also do pillow cases.

For the meet link, do you mean those participating in the FE? If so, we only have 3 groups signed up so far.

To anyone that is interested......

If you would like to join the FE exchange, send me a PM with the following information:

Adults Names (and how related, ex: Dad, Mom, Grandma, etc)
Kids Names and ages
Stateroom Number
Any allergies or special notes (ex. peanut allergy so that no one will delivery candy with peanuts to that room, etc)
Email address

None of this information will be posted on the Dis. It will be emailed to the participants only.

Wow, April 8th is going to be here before we know it! How many people do we have signed up for the FE right now? I need to get going on them!

Woo Hoo - we made it to February.... Come on April, hurry up, LOL.

SoCaBaby - We only have 3 families sighed up, 16 people.

Hi Everyone....Wow, less than two months to go!!!!

I was so excited to find some dresses last weekend while I was in Pismo. I found a floor-length formal and two shorter ones plus shoes (not sure which dresses I will use yet, LOL). Now DH just needs to get a suit (I found DS a suit and I think DD is still good with dresses).

So, we talked a while back about maybe meeting up pre-cruise. Is anyone still interested in doing that, maybe at Disneyland or Downtown Disney?

Also, I need to set an final date for people to sign up for the FE. Is anyone else still interested in joining?

We will be at Knotts the day before the cruise. so probably no pre-cruise meet for us.....sorry. we will also be hitting Magic Mountian, and a college baseball game, UCLA or Cal State Fullerton, before the cruise.

Getting so close, but still so far away:scared1:

Sounds like fun plans!! We really enjoy Magic Mountain (we love roller coasters).

I agree, I'm torn between worrying about getting everything done before the cruise gets here and wanting it to just hurry up and be time to go.

I needed a DCL fix so we went down Sunday to watch the Wonder leave. As they were pulling away from the dock you could hear the CD saying "We are on our way.....to the Mexican Riviera." Ohhhhh, I wanted to be on the ship instead of standing by the dock when I heard that :rotfl2:

We are doing the cooking experience in Puerto Vallarta. My DD wants to be a chef so we thought she would have fun. On the first day in Cabo, we are doing the Beach Resort Getaway. On the second day in Cabo, we are just going to wing it.

What are your plans?

We have the Pirate Sail booked for the 4 of us on PV day. On the first Cabo day, DH and DD will be doing the discovery scuba so I booked me and DS on the Whale Photo Adventure. We are planning to just explore Cabo on the second day also :)

We were on the same cruise last year but it was a 10 day. In PV we did the Pirate sail and LOVED LOVED LOVED the day. :)

I would do it again, but decided to try something new.
