April 8th, 2012: WONDERful Mexican Riviera!

Hey Everyone....we are just back from seeing the Wonder leave. WOO HOO...I can't believe that the next time it is in port, we will be getting on :yay::yay::yay:

Any Pics?

Sorry, I didn't take any this time. I know I have a bunch of them, just not on my work computer. I'll check when I get home tonight to see what I have. But here are a few I had on my facebook page from other trips to the port:

And this one was taken when we were on the ship in January 2011 (2-night cruise to nowhere). LOL - I had to share this one since it is the current desktop picture on my computer. I love that secret deck 7 balcony...

Hello everybody! Our family is so excited to be on count-down this week! We have been packing and checking to make sure we won't forget anything important. Being this is our first cruise we are finding out about things like door magnets (which we have made) and fish extenders (which we just learned about so we missed out on this one :confused3.) We look forward to meeting some of our fellow cruisers and to the fun which we are excitedly awaiting! Can't wait until Sunday! :cool1:

I am so stressing out here! I just heard from another mom that kids in ds7's class are dropping like flies with the FLU! :scared1: A few kids were out all last week, a few more missed a couple days and one little boy threw up in the class yesterday. To top it all off, ds7 was at a birthday party on Sunday which included most of his classmates. I just feel sick (no pun intended) about this!

Dd had the flu about a week before we sailed in Feb 2011. She waa fine about 3 days before we boarded and the rest of us felt fine. We boarded and all was great until dinner that night. I started to not feel well at all. After dinner, I went straight back to my room where I stayed for the next 48 hours. Then ds7 caught it and I kept him in the room for 2 days as well. Weird thing was no one else caught it (ds, grandma, grandpa, or a friedn traveling with us.) So I am crossing my fingers as I really don't want a repeat of that Feb trip!

Oh no :( Don't you wish we could wrap the kids in bubble wrap and keep them in isolation for a month before the cruise. I'll have my finger's crossed that the flu steers clear of your family!!!

Last month we had quite a few people in my office sick and I just kept to myself as much as possible, LOL. Enough time has passed that I'm pretty sure that I am safe, LOL. But we still have to get the kids through the last week of school before break. I'm keeping everything crossed....for all of us!!

Oh my goodness. Sending you all kinds of good, HEALTHY thoughts!:)

Ok, bags packed, check list done. Time to take the dog to "doggy camp" and get on the plane for a few days of fun in the sun before the fun on the Wonder. Hope to see you all at the meet on Monday 11:00 Promenade lounge.

DD came home from school with a sore throat. grrrrr

Last year on this same Easter cruise she got a cold the day that we boarded the ship. She coughed at night the whole time and no one got any sleep. I sure hope it is just allergies and that they go away when we sail away.

How is DS socababy?

sickies go away~!

Oh no! Can you keep DD home from school so she can rest?

Seems like everyone seems to be coming down with something or another....today, in the dance studio next to the one my DD was in, one of the kids just started throwing up all over the place. Of course there had to be a "sympathetic vomiter" in the crowd. All I could think of was that scene in Stand By Me! Then I started passing out the disinfecting wipes!

Good health to everyone!:)
On the bright side....the weather on Sunday is going to be amazing!:cool2:

So far so good here! I talked to ds' teacher today and she said all the kids seem to be well now. I wasn't happy to hear the kid who threw up in class Monday returned to school on Tuesday. I think he should have stayed home for at least one more day to make it 24 hours clear of vomiting. I'll just cross my finger until Sunday!

We are looking at beautiful weather for most if not all of our trip! HIgh 80's for PV and Cabo it seems. This will be the first time that my kids hit the pool the day we board too. Should be in the high 70's!

Oh no, I hope that it is nothing major. Lots of fluids and rest for the next 3 days.

Oh yuck, LOL. I had the very horrible job of picking up my DD from school when she was in 1st grade after she threw up on another student. That was not fun, especially when I ran into the other mom in the nurses office (she was bringing clean clothes to her DD). LOL - don't tell DD I told you that story ;)

I'm so glad to hear that this one seems to be passing your DS by :thumbsup2

Wow, is this the slowest week ever :rotfl2: I have been checking the forecast every day too and it is looking great!!! Poor DD is getting the tests piled on her at school since this is the last week of the quarter. 1 down, 1 today and 2 tomorrow. So she has had no time to get excited about the trip. DS, on the other hand, is on a field trip to Knott's Berry Farm today and then doing an Easter Egg hunt at school tomorrow so he is already in vacation mode :rotfl2:

My Mom is dropping us off at the port on Sunday morning and I think my kids have convinced her to come back at 5:00 to watch us leave. After so many times of us standing at the pier watching the ship leave, it is going to be a blast to be the ones on the ship waving down at people :yay::yay:

I just read that the DIS will be switching servers this evening...so the boards may be extra slow or down or (this was their wording)weird.
Just wanted to wish everyone health and safe travels to the ship, just in case the boards are being difficult. We will try to make it to the meet up on the second day...but in case we miss it, I hope everyone has the best vacation ever!:thumbsup2

We are out of here in less than 48 hours!!!

I'm feeling confident that ds avoided getting that nasty flu! However, I took him to the ENT doc yesterday because his ears have been bothering him and he is always telling me that he didn't hear me when I have asked him to do something. He has had a history of chronic fluid build up in the ear and had tubes put in 2008. Turns out he has a lot of fluid build up in his left ear with about 50% hearing loss in that ear. He will need the tubes put back in. :sad1: I hate the idea of him being put back under to have it done but I know it is for the best. Ideally, it would have been best to get in done next week during spring break but we have even more important things to do! :rotfl2: So he will have it done the week after we get back.

Then we have dd. She has had some horrible constipation and is in a lot of pain while trying to go poop. So I took her in today to the pedi and they ruled out anything more serious. I need to change up her diet a bit, especially watching what she eats this coming week. I know the kids menus are pretty much the same every night so I'll be asking for some help in making variations to certain dishes. Mac and cheese every night just won't be good for her! I did go and get some laxatives as a last resort. So if you walk by my room and hear a little girl yelling and screaming "It hurts inside my butt, you'll know why!" :rotfl2:

Oh my! I can't believe we leave tomorrow...I've been sick all week and am really hoping to feel better soon...I'm still trying to get packed...sigh...all this was supposed to be done by now...I'm looking forward to meeting you all soon.

I hope you are able to somehow rest and get your packing done. Feel better!!!

I just took a break from putting things in suitcases to check the boards. What a beautiful day here today (with tomorrow looking to be just as nice). I had my jeans set out to wear to the port but now I'm rethinking that, LOL.

WOO HOO - tomorrow at this time we should be boarding!!!

Wow - sorry to hear some of the sickness that had gone and definite well wishes for all. Tomorrow is almost here. We just finished getting everything ready. So, a good night sleep to everyone. See you aboard!!

Hello everyone! I can't believe our week came and went just like that! I hope all of you had a terrific time! My kids were super excited upon learning Easter morning that they were leaving for the Mickey Boat! They (actually all of us, grandma and grandpa included) were also very excted to be in the Roy suite. All that extra space was really nice, especially for my MIL. My kids spared getting sick but she ended up with a bad sinus infection which caused a really bad migraine. She started not feeling well Wed night and went to bed early. Poor thing didn't leave the room until lunch yesterday (Sat.) She got to enjoy High Tea at Palo yesterday afternoon too.

I am so sorry I missed the meet on Monday! I actually totally forgot about it. I got back from my massage at 9:30, showered and then we went to get lunch. Dd was complaining about her belly hurting (she's still a bit constipated) so we went back to the room to have a long potty session and by the time I remembered the meet, it was 4pm! :rotfl2: I must have really been on vacation mode at that point because I think I have a really good memory!

Thank you everyone for FE gifts! What a highlight of the trip for the kids. They love participating!

Okay I need to get off this couch now! I vow to get all my bags unpacked and start wash tonight so that I can start to repack later this week. It was so weird getting off this morning knowing that I will board her again in 2 weeks minus the kids bound for Hawaii!
