April 6th dcl announcement

Okay, my guess wild and crazy for the Magic (if we are going to play a guessing game). There will be a couple of back forths to/from NYC (hitting Bermuda or whatnot) during the shoulder season. Then shorter, northern route TAs out of NYC into England. Sailing around the British Isles with land tie ins to the Olympics in the month or so the game are running (ABD pulling serious strings). This keeps the Magic in Europe, but allows DCL to really tap into the UK market (which is their firmest hold in Europe) and hopefully draw a big crowd from all over for the Olympics.

iam still hoping for eastern med, or perhaps baltic or canary isles but I thought I would throw a curve ball guess out there for the benefit of our new in the know poster

Alright, since I'm from the West Coast and really hoping for at least 1 of the Disney ships to remain on the West Coast, I'll take a guess. Is it possible for a Hawaii (tying in with the Disney Aulani Resort) itinerary from Oahu to South America.....say stopping in Guatemala, some ports in Peru and Chile?

Another guess would be maybe from Long Beach to Oahu and then stop at some Mexico ports before returning to Long Beach?

Am I on the right track?

Interesting. At least you livened up the excitement level again.

The Wonder does have the lease with the Port of LA so I'd assume they won't break it and will continue to do something on the West Coast which will have to involve either Mexico or Canada to keep the foreign ports.

For the Magic....the Port of Grand Cayman still shows the Magic in port weekly from September 25, 2012 through April 23, 2013. That is not a "new" port. Is the Port of Grand Cayman website incorrect or are you only referring to where the Magic will be during the summer as surprising?

The Magic stopped going to Tunisia because of what was going on there . . . so I highly doubt they will be going to Egypt any time soon . . . and Japan is just out of the question . . . I didn't mean that to sound rude by the way . . . I just laughed to myself when I read it, but honest mistake . . .

I don't even know what a troll is . . . but I do understand your skepticism, because I am sure almost everyone pulls the "super secret high level sources" card and rarely comes through . . . but I am not one of those people with nothing better to do . . .

Well, it did sound a bit rude--obviously I watch the news, but you invited a guessing game, and we are looking more than a year ahead. I can only imagine how hard it is to try to plan "safe" routes in an unpredicable world. But if nothing else, this does seem to suggest no Far East or Eastern Med routes (most of my prior speculation--post the Eygpt uprising--involved the Greek islands and Turkey).

I'll await the official announcement, and then plan from there. And here I was offering up support for your post, and now feel a bit insulted!

Are we guessing itineraries or home ports? Here's my wish list/guess: Magic back to the Baltics or Eastern Med. based out of NY the rest of the year and the Wonder based out of Galveston/Houston going back to Alaska & Hawaii:

I am looking for the Wonder cruise. The DVC reps told me on the Canal cruise that she has bookings for Hawaii. I am hoping she goes from LA or Canada. I thought she might go Down Under but that would be winter! My guess the cruise leaves on Sept 16 from Oahu does 12 night getting to Cali on Sept 28 with a 2 night nowhere cruise! Just a guess

No worries--even with the hints provided I know a little more than I did yesterday; I'd even say "thanks!" for just letting us know that April 6 IS a significant announcement and not just another "here's our new ship" event. So can't wait until next week!

And now, my prediction...(actually just a hope): For the Magic: Eastern Med that will include Eygpt and Greece; for the Wonder: trips out to Hawaii, possible trip to the Far East (could be Japan, could be to Hong Kong and Shanghi with a special event involving the next Disney park).

And with these, some sort of Adventures by Disney tie-in, like we've seen with the western med trips (and for a while, Vancouver).

There--how am I doin'?

I agree that we won't see anything for Africa for a while until things settle down. As for Shanghi the park will not be ready in 2012

Well at least the guessing game should keep things interesting while we wait for next week.

April 6th is my wedding anniversary so I'd love a Houston/Galveston announcement as a nice anniversary present.

I'm hoping the Wonder continues in Alaska as I'd like a chance to sail there.

I'm really hoping we get announcements that carry into 2013 as that is when I can sail next.
