April 6th dcl announcement

Well, I do infer from this that Gold (and Platinum) CC will have an early booking option. I know we anticipated that, but DCL seems to change things up every so often! Sure wish they'd give us more than 24 hours between the announcement and booking day though! Especially with so many new itinaries this time. Not a problem for me personally, as Hawaii is all I'm interest in. Of if they did Magic open booking one week and the Wonder the next. They just insist on continually crashing their web site! :lmao:

.

Just wondering how gold CC members will be among the first to hear. Will there be a 20-second delay if you're silver or below? :rotfl2:
:surfweb::rotfl2: Nancy -their escape word - "among" :rotfl:

Jackie, come on over to the Hawaii cruise thread!!

Yes ,with airfaire costs rising... I agree with you making NEast a homeport.. but at $1200.00 per person for an inside room, is it really cost efficient?

A family of 4 is almost $5000.00 ... and to the Bahamas?

Keep in mind that the 3rd and 4th passengers are discounted. My guess is that the 3rd and 4th passengers would be about $650 each so a family of four would be about $3,700.

Also, have you seen the 5-night prices on the Dream in June 2012 recently (Nassau and Double Dip at CC)? A 5-night Bahamas for a family of four leaving on June 1, 2012, leaving from Port Canaveral is $3,934.68 in an 11A cabin. And that's the least expensive cruise right now for all June for a family of 4 on the Dream!

If you book the New York itinerary early, you get 3 extra nights and for many, no extra airfare for less than a shorter cruise on the Dream. The prices seem about right compared to the Dream & Fantasy. However, if you compare to other cruise lines, it is more expensive right now. Most people who cruise Disney don't seem that concerned about prices of other cruise lines. Granted, many are but if most were concerned about prices of other cruiselines, Disney's prices would be a lot lower.

We are gold CC members. It was an email I received. Platinum and Gold usually get to book early.

I'm hoping booking opens up soon!

I wonder how one gets on these mailing lists? We sign up for most Disney mailing lists, but still didn't get this email. If it weren't for the DIS, I'd be left in the dark!

Hey there ole' MR cruisemate! Our kids are now 15, 13, and 7 and we giving RCCL Oasis of the Seas a try this June. Love Disney but really want to try out the new ships out there. Kind of felt like a "traitor" too but at least we are staying 2 days post cruise at WDW.

Itineraries for 2012 don't sound too exciting to us either. May book for Alaska 2012 and see how the Disney Alaska reviews come in this summer.

NAH -- don't feel like a traitor. You have to go where the pricing fits your family and the itinerary is what you are looking for. We are taking HAL to Alaska instead of Disney because we wanted to do Glacier Bay and can link a land tour with it. Disney didn't have what we wanted and HAL was cheaper. You gotta do whatcha gotta do ;)

And everyone has their own priorities. Personally, I would do what you did and go for the itinerary with Glacier Bay over cruising on Disney. To each is own. :hippie:

ME, TOO. We've been sailing with them since 2000 and never receive these special emails. We are gold status right now and been CC members since 2002. We also don't receive half the mailings I read about everyone getting. Don't get it. :confused3

We're Silver - I guess the difference is that while we are among the first to "hear" the news... you Goldies are among the first to "take advantage of" it!!

This is going to be one of my questions when I phone to move our cruise once booking opens. For some reasons - I can select to get emails from all Disney subsidaries except DCL. There is a blank spot where the DCL line should be.

If I don't have one particular trusted travel agent, what is the best way to book once booking becomes available to me? On the DCL official website? Put in a quote request to a Dreams Unlimited and wait to hear back? Pick some other Disney travel agent with a phone number and try to call and get through??

My priority will be booking and trying to get what I want quickly, at the lowest price possible (like everyone else here!). I am afraid it's going to be a challenge... even if I'm not booking one of the Hawaii/NY/holiday/etc. cruises.

(I am a one-time prior DCL cruiser -- not gold/platinum so no special early booking status for me! ;))

:confused3 I'm a Platinum...14 cruises and don't get the emails either...even though I signed up for them! :confused3 If that makes anyone feel better.:rolleyes1

Does anyone know "where" the live broadcast will be?? and what time, I read it somewhere but cannot find it now. thanks!!!:surfweb:
