April 6, 2008 - 4-night Spring Break Cruise - Anyone else going?

MommyMinnie and kyirish25:
When should we meet at the Radisson that Saturday night? When do you plan to arrive? We should be there in the mid afternoon.:dogdance:

Welcome Nanna & Warcholmom!

If your interested we are planning to meet and introduce ourselves on boarding day around 3pm by the Goofy Pool. My picture is in my avatar so maybe I'll be easier to recognize.

DS6 is so excited about meeting others his age!

Yes, that sounds great! We will try to be at the Goofy Pool to meet. We live in Florida (Tampa) and will probably drive over in the a.m. or spend the night at my mom-in-law (near the Cape).

I can't believe it is less than a month away! So much still to do.:thumbsup2

I'm new at this, this will be our first cruise and my twin 5 year olds (one boy and one girl) first trip to DW (before we board) We are from Texas and coming with 5 other familes to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. I am so excited that i can't even sleep.. i guess that's why I'm posting this at 12:45 AM!

Welcome! :cool1: There will be so many 5 and 6 year old boys! Check out the list (see my link in my signature).

We have 2 meets planned. :dance3: For those of us staying at the Radisson the night before, we are meeting at the pool there. Also we are all meeting at the Goofy pool at 3:00. I hope you can make it.

One correction: DW is the abbreviation for wife (actually, darling wife). WDW is the abbreviation for Walt Disney World.:)

Hi everyone!

This week's AllEarsNet Newsletter has two interesting tidbits that I thought I would share.

1. "Disney Cruise Line news: Hercules the MUSEical has ended its run and has been replaced by The Art of Story Show until the new Toy Story show begins. The cast for the new Toy Story musical show is now on the Disney Wonder and they have begun onstage rehersals."

2. "By the way, the 2008 Castaway Cay gift is now a nice black and red zippered tote bag with slots for two water bottles. Inside the bag was a notepad and pen, a netted Castaway Cay bag (which was given out in 2007), two nice water bottles and a small plastic toy ship.
Photos can be seen at: http://allearsnet.com/cruise/castawayclubgifts.htm"

Deb Wills also has some comments about a change to Castaway Club gifts when there are multiple families in the same stateroom.

They've not yet posted it, but if you do not get the email you will be able to see the newsletter at: http://allears.net/ae/ae.htm

Does everyone get the Castaway Cay gift?

Only Castaway Club members (which you should be if you were on a Disney Cruise before.) If you have been on a Disney Cruise before, make sure that either your travel agent or Disney Cruise Line (whomever you booked the cruise with) has your Castaway Club membership number on file; that should trigger getting the stateroom gift.

Also, there is a separate line at the Terminal for Castaway Club members to check-in.

Guess I'll need to book another cruise...Uh, I didn't say that. No, David. :sad2: When you read this understand that we are not booking another cruise even if we would get a free gift. I am not giving in, really!

It seems like there are several folks staying at the Radisson the night before. Is this just a coincidence or is this just a really good hotel to stay at close to the cruise? Right now we are booked at the Residence Inn, but there is nothing really tying us to that hotel. We are planning to get in early afternoon as well, since we are on spring break that week and plan to leave first thing on Saturday.

My kids are very excited. We got some of our "tickets" in the mail today!!

Also, anyone going towards Atlantis in Nassau? We have been quite slack in booking any excursions, but it seemed like the ones there had the most possibilities for younger kids...

I think it was kyIrish who first posted about the Radisson. It is cheaper to park your car there and take the shuttle to the ship than to park at the port. But we just liked the idea of meeting before the cruise. It would be great if you joined us. I can tell you my DS5 would heartily agree.

In terms of excursions, there have been many posts about this on the last 3 pages or so, but as for us, we don't plan to go into Nassau. Nothing seemed family oriented except Atlantis, and we didn't think it was worth the price at that point. Besides, I heard that it is great to be on the ship that day. At Castaway Cay we are reserving the package with the snorkel gear, floats, and bikes. We plan to make it a beach day.

Okay, just writing this is getting me excited!:cheer2: :cheer2:

We will be on this cruise too! I haven't read through all the post yet but here is our info:

Me
DW
DD 12
DD 10
DS 3 1/2

Not sure where we will be before. Probably in Orlando going to a water park. Afterwards we are at Port Orleans, Riverside.

In what part of Marietta are you located? We are near Sandy Plains and Shallowford Roads. Do you know anyone else from the area going on the cruise at the same time? :yay:

I can't believe how the trip has snuck up on me.

Work has been awful lately and promises to continue that way right up until we leave. I am so ready for the trip. It's coming at just the right time.

My boss asked if the ship takes cell phone calls and I said yes. But, he has to pay for the cruise if I have to work on board ship.

I also told him I'm traveling on the Princess Caribbean Queen.

I'm going back now to read old posts. So look for some oddball comments.

Do we have a time and place for the Raddison meet?

See the Oddball posts are starting. I don't know when we will arrive but we probably won't settle until after dinner. DH tends to get happy feet and never stays still in a hotel for long.

Another Rad question. What time is everyone planning to take the bus? We generally go early 8:00 or so. But then, it's hard to make the family stick to a schedule on vacation.

Guess I'll need to book another cruise...Uh, I didn't say that. No, David. :sad2: When you read this understand that we are not booking another cruise even if we would get a free gift. I am not giving in, really!

Ya' know I keep saying that too. DH wants to go to Italy and I tell him that we can't have a cruise and trip to Italy both outstanding at the same time.

We'll see what really happens.

Hi sweetie! It sounds like you are going to have a great trip!

Is my math correct that you were married 20 years before having twins? Please tell me you got married young! Are there older children to help you?

Since everyone is telling what they have booked.....

We are going on the Ardstra gardens tour. It's usually for younger kids but we want to seen the flamingos and don't want to take up the whole day with one activity.

On Castaway Cay we have no plans. Generally we stay plenty busy without them.

Greetings to All!

Is anyone trying to lose a few extra pounds before we set sail? I am scared that I am going to eat too much. I plan on taking the stairs instead of the elevators. That seems to be a good suggestion from the boards. Well, I'll be in touch.

Tania

I tried dieting, joined curves. But eventually I just moved up to the "women's" department.

Maybe I'll loose weight before Italy.

We usually take the stairs instead of the elevators onboard ship because the elevators are sloooooow and small.

We will also be joining you all on the Spring Break Cruise. I am extremely excited about our upcoming cruise. This will be our first cruise. We live in Florida so we will be driving to the port on the day of departure. My DH, DS 13, DS 8, and DS 5 will be on the cruise with me. Tania

Hi Tania!
I'm looking forward to meeting your family.
