April 5th 2014 Fantasy Caribbean Cruise

I just booked our first Disney cruise So we'll be sailing with you all. I will probably sign up for the FE group, but not yet. As much as we want to go on this cruise, we are open to the possibility of switching to next April instead. Hoping the 2015 dates come out before our PIF date of Jan 5 so we can make our decision. We really want to go in 2014 though, so the savings will have to be significant to make us change LOL

Just found this thread. This will be our 6th cruise. We have 5020 and 5022 booked and have my mother and her SO with his DGD in 5018 and my sister with her DH and DD 16 months in 5520 (I think? It could be 5518 or 5522 I just know its an 8A on the other side) I have never done the FE thing and am considering giving it a try. Is there a link for it? Sorry I didn't read all 13 or so pages of posts.

My DD will be 13 on the cruise and is mature for her age. She is worried about having to hang out with her 12 yo sister so this maybe an option if your DD is interested.

Anyone from Michigan purchase airfare yet? It is still outrageous and only Delta and Spirit have non-stop flights? Any advice on airfare? Am I looking too early? If prices don't go down, we jut might have to drive and I REALLY do not want to do that. But airfare for 8 at the current prices just isn't doable. AHHH!!

We couldn't justify the cost this time around for the airfare and the rental car (we cannot fit in anything but an SUV or van esp with all the luggage) so we are driving. Kids are ok with it although DS5 I'm sure doesn't really understand. My mother and her SO are also driving with his DGD7 and they live near us. They drove last time we cruised and said "it wasn't that bad". I guess maybe it isn't since as soon as we asked if they wanted to join us for another cruise they said "yes" and "we are going to drive down again" without even a second thought. Hoping our drive goes well. I am planning to get the kids gift for xmas that they can use on the trip to keep them occupied like some travel games we can play in the car.

I'll need to know if all 4 rooms are participating and will have an FE hanging outside. You can have everyone participate, but go through one room's FE....

I'm wondering when would be a good time to book our airfare. My friend in the airline industry says she usually waits for 90 days out because that's typically the lowest prices you'll find. On one hand, we really should wait for 2015 dates to come out and check the prices before we totally commit. But we really want to go in 2014 so the prices will have to be substantially cheaper for us to change our minds. If we wait for the dates to come out, we'll be closer to the 90 day mark and might get a cheaper airfare. On the other hand, there are 6 of us and I'm so worried the flights will sell out. LOL. I can't believe the cost is $700pp for airfare right now! Using our points, our airfare will be about what I think it should have been in the first place, so I don't feel like we're saving any money

Our airfare on Southwest ended up being $280 pp round trip and there's 8 of us flying. The flight to Orlando (on 4/04/14) is nonstop but the flight home isn't -- but I'm ok with that since we still have Sunday at home to recuperate before school and work resume. We booked right away since that's when Southwest's are the cheapest. One flight home actually went up $30pp after just 3 hours of being released yesterday.

I am a planner and need it all planned out song can enjoy the anticipation if the vacation without stressing out over the details.

If I could find a flight for less than. $500 pp I would book it in a heartbeat. But I'm coming from Seattle and I haven't seen any. Been checking every day.
