was thinking about going april 30th to may 6th to take advantage of the military discounts and was wondering if anyone had any info on this time of year? how are the crowds, weather, bugs and so on. i always go in feb and love it but couldnt this year. thanks

Went this time of year in 2010, weather warm but comfortable, 70s/80s no problems with high humidity, no sweatshirts needed, swimming at night fine. Crowd levels lowish, apart from usual suspects Toy story, soarin etc wher there's always queues. Good time of year to go in my opinion, oh almost forgot, didn't have any problems with bugs, have a great time.

We went the second week of May last year so a couple weeks later than you suggested. It was pretty hot. Upper 80s or low 90s every day and humid. Definitely not as hot as mid summer or early fall(we used to always go in Sept.) We had no problem swimming during the day and/or at night. Crowds weren't too bad although we were there for opening weekend of Star Wars Weekends. DHS was pretty crowded but every where else was managable. It definitely isn't as crowded as holidays and/or mid summer but probably more crowded than Feb. We had no issues with bugs.

We like going in May so much we are going the first week of May this year.

We went that exact week in 2010, I think we were there April 28 to May 3 or 4. The weather was quite hot with high humidity, was feeling like it was in the 90s. Didn't bother me too much as I like the heat, but some others in our group found it too hot.

The crowds were very reasonable. I spent time making a touring plan so we never waited long in any lines, just made sure we did the important rides at the beginning of the day and used the fastpass system.

We go that week most every year - at least for the last 5 or six years. I consider it ideal disney time, which is also why we got married at Disney that week! The weather is nice and warm, but not usually sweltering. Sometimes I like a light jacket in the evenings. The crowds are low, but not so low that some of the dining and shopping locations get closed like they do in September and January. This year it will be even better since Easter is early in the month. We've never had love bugs that week, they're normally a tad bit later into may, but with the warm winter this year you never know.

thanks for the info. think im gonna pull the trigger, just tryin to figure out if i can get some more time off from work. need to be there at least 10 days....lol

We were there from 4/28 - 5/4 back in 2009. Enjoyed great weather - mid 80's during the day and low seventies at night. The crowds were pretty manageable. Since Easter is in early April this year, it won't come into play, and spring breaks are over by then. I say go for it. Check the refurbs though, as I believe a couple of the popular rides (like Test Track) are scheduled to be down at that time. But, hopefully the monorail is back up & running a full-shift by then!
