Hi everyone...on the Facebook page I volunteered to make a list of events for everyone when we board (if no one has already volunteered to to this). Let me know if anyone else had already planned on making something like this.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

I had thought to do a DIS Navigator but if you would like to do it, maybe we could do it together.

I am trying to get the organizers of events to give me info for a "Welcome Wagon" post for newbies.

Either way works for me. If you want to put a navigator together that sounds great! :thumbsup2

Many thanks to both of you!!! That would be so helpful to have this when we board. It's a wonderful offer & would be very welcome. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! Justed booked a GTY cabin for this cruise. I'm sooo excited, I've been trying to book a cabin on this cruise forever. It's been sold out, as I'm sure you all know. Very happy to be sailing to Hawaii, it hasn't quit sunk in yet. My DH and I sailed this past April on the Dream which was awesome, we haven't sailed on the Wonder in a few years. The Dis-boarders for the Dream cruise were wonderful people, I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you. I think it's just great that we get to be on the very first cruise my Disney to go to Hawaii. I'm already wondering what the entertainment will be and what excursions will be available. Well I have 178 pages to catch up on, so, good night!

Welcome! Welcome! Glad you can join us for the cruise! We were hooked on Disboards after our first cruise with the DISers! Everyone here does make a world of difference on the cruise! We're looking forward to meeting you as well!

Perfect Val, I will start working up something for a Welcome Wagon post. I will post something by next week for people to comment on the contents.

I was thinking of a magnet for the inside of people's doors with a run down of each days events.

What a great idea!! I think we can work together and you can make a magnet. What I envisioned was a daily DIS navigator with all the events you can either print out or put on a smartphone, computer or iPad type device.

I like the idea of the 24 or 48 that is easy to do especially when ordering items. The Queen Mary offers AAA rates but not able to book at this time. The deluxe with queen or king was $180 tax included this is the same as Double Tree marina view. Candy Cane was $325 for 2 nights for a basic room.

Hi. :confused3 Not a problem but I have a contract with the Doubletree in San Pedro for $139 a night guaranteed whether it's single or double occupancy. Yes they do offer a AAA discount but they explained that price is not a locked in price. It can vary so today it could be $139 but tomorrow it could be $160. The prices that I negotiated and have a contract for, are guaranteed not to go up. :thumbsup2 I love the DisBoards so in order to guarantee this price I used my credit card to hold these rooms. I have received prices for other hotels and now that's it's getting closer, I've been working with them to get better prices. I'm currently working with the Hyatt Regency, Queen Mary, Paradise Pier, Candy Cane Inn and Double Tree. If my DisBoard family wants me to continue getting prices, I will be glad too. The only thing that I ask is that if anyone that told me they wanted me to hold a room changes their mind, please let me know, as I have a limited number of rooms. Can't wait to see my old friends and make new ones. :grouphug:

Hi Bev! Do you still have a non-smoking, double queen, marina view at the Double Tree available at that price? I would love to be able to save a few bucks (to spend on the cruise of course :cool1:). I already reserved this type of room for the 3 of us, but the AAA rate I was given was $179.20 plus tax (guaranteed, unless I don't produce my AAA card :confused3). With tax, the total for one night is $204.41. If available, do you think I can transfer my reservation to your block to get the lower rate? Thanks for any info you can give me. Please feel free to PM me.

I think I am about to upset people, if that is the case I am sorry but I have to get this off my chest. Please realize this is my perspective so I am sure others will disagree. What is happening right now is just one of the many reasons why I don't do the FE thing. In my eyes reading the conversation I just have a image in my head of children crying. I can't believe grown adults are, again in my eyes, are complaining about such a trivial thing. This is to be a fun adventure half way across the Pacific and back. What I see happening now is not very fun. Sorry again, but I had to get it off my chest. Again this is my perspective and if I have angered someone I apologize.

I am not sure what all this discussion is about. FE gifts are given out by people who desire to do so. If one chooses to only give to cabins with kids, or only to 24 or 48 because that is what they have made/bought, that's OK. Having a FE hung on the fish and finding trickets when you return to your cabin is fun. A pencil, a piece of candy, a small magnet, it is just fun to find. It is fun to go from deck to deck, cabin to cabin putting out FE gifts and seeing all the different FEs everyone has. The old saying tis better to give than recieve applies here. Don't get so up tight about FE gifts. Lets all have an enjoyable cruise. Alex

I could not have said this any better. :thumbsup2 I love walking around all the decks to see all the decorated doors and fish extenders. Yes, it is fun to walk back to your cabin or open your door to leave and have something in your fish extender. It's so much fun. I love the DISBOARDS and the many lifelong friends that I have made thru the Disboards and Cruises. Life is too short to stress over how many FE gifts you "have to give". No one "has to" participate. No one "has to " be part of a group. I always bring alot of FE gifts and when I was in a group, I gave everyone a few gifts and brought extra just because I could. I found it fun just to walk around and drop FE gifts into the FE's. Always brought extra for children, but this is what I "like" to do. This is what is so great about the DisBoards. It's all up to how you want to do it or not do it and this goes for everything that people are planning who want to make it more fun for the ones that want to participate. But hey, if you just want to cruise and relax and not participate, that's fine too. There's really no right or wrong way. Just the fun way. Again, I agree.......Let's all have an enjoyable cruise.:grouphug:

Hi Bev,

Did the Doubletree tell you that the shuttle to the Port is included in that $139 price?

TIA!

Hey Alex, can't wait to sail with you guys again. Don't forget to pass the bread.;) You stated the original thought behind the FE so eloquently and I, too, agree. Tell Carolyn hi from us.

Hi Bev,

Did the Doubletree tell you that the shuttle to the Port is included in that $139 price?

TIA!

I booked before the group block of rooms and got the $139 rate , I did inquire abut the shuttle and was told it was complementary,

We would be rebooking with the group block of rooms if the rate were different, very nice of this to be offered.
