LOL the Double Tree better have a shuttle driver that likes getting up early, LOL... or they better think about an additional van or two.

I am not sure what all this discussion is about. FE gifts are given out by people who desire to do so. If one chooses to only give to cabins with kids, or only to 24 or 48 because that is what they have made/bought, that's OK. Having a FE hung on the fish and finding trickets when you return to your cabin is fun. A pencil, a piece of candy, a small magnet, it is just fun to find. It is fun to go from deck to deck, cabin to cabin putting out FE gifts and seeing all the different FEs everyone has. The old saying tis better to give than recieve applies here. Don't get so up tight about FE gifts. Lets all have an enjoyable cruise. Alex

Absolutely!! :thumbsup2

Even if the driver doesn't like early mornings, the driver can sit in the passenger seat and get a couple extra minutes of sleep and I'll drive :goodvibes

I just had an idea that I want to run by you all. Instead of a group tee shirt, how do you all feel about a group hawaiian shirt? I just spoke with a company that makes Hawaiian shirts and patterns to order. They can take a group logo, have an artist mock-up a fabric design for us, have fabric printed with our approved design and then manufacture shirts for us. The shirts would cost about what a tee-shirt purchased on-board cost, approximately $25 if we order 150 or more. They can make them as small as XS or as large as 4XL.

The company is called Custom Hawaiian Shirt Shop and Becky is going to send me a sample shirt so I can see the quality of their product. Once I get it I'll wash the shirt a few times and see how it fares. Then I'll let you all know. We'll post photos.

I want to e-mail her the different logos people have come up with and she will let us know what she thinks they will look like made up as fabric. They can be as many colors as we want and they can have any words printed with the pictures that we want. I think they might also have stock tropical patterns (hibiscus, vines, etc.) so we don't just look like walking billboards.

I don't want the company to go to a lot of work if there isn't any interest so I'd really appreciate honest input.

Val, I think that sounds a great idea.We will certainly be seen on embarkation day won't we?:eek::eek::rotfl2:

Hi everyone! Justed booked a GTY cabin for this cruise. I'm sooo excited, I've been trying to book a cabin on this cruise forever. It's been sold out, as I'm sure you all know. Very happy to be sailing to Hawaii, it hasn't quit sunk in yet. My DH and I sailed this past April on the Dream which was awesome, we haven't sailed on the Wonder in a few years. The Dis-boarders for the Dream cruise were wonderful people, I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you. I think it's just great that we get to be on the very first cruise my Disney to go to Hawaii. I'm already wondering what the entertainment will be and what excursions will be available. Well I have 178 pages to catch up on, so, good night!

Welcome Aboard !!

I had thought to do a DIS Navigator but if you would like to do it, maybe we could do it together.

I am trying to get the organizers of events to give me info for a "Welcome Wagon" post for newbies.

I was thinking of a magnet for the inside of people's doors with a run down of each days events.

Awesome idea ! Thanks for doing this.:thumbsup2

Hi. :confused3 Not a problem but I have a contract with the Doubletree in San Pedro for $139 a night guaranteed whether it's single or double occupancy. Yes they do offer a AAA discount but they explained that price is not a locked in price. It can vary so today it could be $139 but tomorrow it could be $160. The prices that I negotiated and have a contract for, are guaranteed not to go up. :thumbsup2 I love the DisBoards so in order to guarantee this price I used my credit card to hold these rooms. I have received prices for other hotels and now that's it's getting closer, I've been working with them to get better prices. I'm currently working with the Hyatt Regency, Queen Mary, Paradise Pier, Candy Cane Inn and Double Tree. If my DisBoard family wants me to continue getting prices, I will be glad too. The only thing that I ask is that if anyone that told me they wanted me to hold a room changes their mind, please let me know, as I have a limited number of rooms. Can't wait to see my old friends and make new ones. :grouphug:

Bev aka mickeymom923

Thanks Bev ! I just need to decide where I wan't to stay.:confused3

I booked before the group block of rooms and got the $139 rate , I did inquire abut the shuttle and was told it was complementary,

We would be rebooking with the group block of rooms if the rate were different, very nice of this to be offered.

Was that a refundable rate ?

I don't think they start before 10:00.

I like the idea. I would be interested in getting a t-shirt. Would be nice if we could get a group photo.:)

This could be fun - we avoid the tee shirts because we have SO many...but I would not mind another Hawaiian shirt...

Val, what a fabulous idea!! Thanks for taking so much time and effort. I know I would be interested in buying on for me!

This is a terrific idea Val! I'd be interested in two of those....

I agree....I think it's very fun. Jason and I would probably order one each.

Good day everyone :) Hope everyone had a great weekend.

There has been a lot of talk about the FE. I do have one request though since I am not very crafty. I purchase my gifts pre made. Things that we usually hand out come in an even number count (6,12,24 etc) If we spilt the FE into groups, could we make it 24 instead of 25? I know it is weird request but I would be grateful.

Thanks :)

I think this was the general idea of doing groups of 25, as you would give to 24 cabins.

I love this idea. I would definitely get one and I think Graham would be more likely to wear one of those than a t shirt.

Well I got a bit of great news today. As some of you may already know, we have been planning this vacation all along but I haven't actually gotten approval from my boss to do it because after I've done so many long vacations recently (September 2010 Med/WBTA, May 2011 Repo/Alaska, etc.) my boss basically told me he didn't want me taking anymore vacations that were longer than 10 work days (2 weeks)....and, of course, because DCL decided to start the Hawaii cruise on a SUNDAY, rather than a Saturday...it ends on a Monday...which means it will require ELEVEN work days (ugh!!). So Jason and I have been scared to tell my boss in case he said no....we even have been preparing contingency plans that included seeing if DCL would let us disembark in Ensenada and then find our way home a day early from either Tijuana or San Diego if we had to!!

Well, I talked about it with my boss today and he said I can have the eleven days. WOO HOO!!!:woohoo: (I'm sure it didn't hurt that I mentioned that this would formally be our honeymoon probably....but still...it's a big load off not to have to worry about that!!)

:thumbsup2 Sounds like an unique and fitting idea for this cruise. That would also take care of the Hawaiian shirt to go with the grass skirt :goodvibes
