If you know anyone still trying to get on this WONDERful trip or wanting to swap staterooms, a Cat5B just came up on the DIS site

Price for 2A/1C (5) = $9,975 (no taxes)

Nala- I saw your diet coke comment and wanted to give you a heads up on how the wonder is doing it right now. Don't know if this is different from your previous cruise or not as it had been a few years since our last Disney cruise. All I drink is diet coke.
To have it at night I ordered 6 packs from room service. To still have enough we took 2 of the insulated plastic drink cups (brought with us) and last thing every night we filled them on the 9th floor by the buffet. A real hassle since I was pushing daughter in wheelchair and she carried cups.
The only free diet coke was at meals, so sometimes I gave up and bought one at a bar if it was too hard to go up to free fountain station. The amount I drink made it actually something we had to plan all the time  I really hated that.

I don't have any problem going up to Deck 9.... I have a big old Nalgene bottle and I fill it up with Diet Coke (and a little ice) and nurse it for a couple of hours.

I thought maybe something had happened to Deck 9...:scared1:

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Not much to say, so I 'll admit to not posting my share to keep us on page one. Right now, my attention is pretty much focused on spending as much time with DH as possible before I fly AND getting ready for the WBTA. (See countdown)

Its a good thing we had that big shirt discussion, or we wouldn't have as many posts as we've gotten.

Off to the gym to try and work off some of the tonnage with which I constantly do battle.

Happy Day, all!

Getting ready to head to Walmart, want to beat the mad rush. We might experience our first hurricane.:scared1: Hoping it's not a direct hit, either way looks like we will be impacted. Hope all those on the East coast affected will be o.k.

I hope Irene stays out to sea and the most you experience is a little more rain. It is so scary though. Stay safe.

We are also in Ontario (London, On) and would be interested in a pre-cruise meet!

We'll work something out in the New Year. Looks like we have a few from Ontario on this cruise. Or, it's just that I am getting mixed up by who is on what cruise. We have two cruises booked in the spring next year.

The excusion thing for me is simple. If it is not by DCL I am not doing it. Lesson learned in Cabo on the Panama cruise. If my wife's tour was private and not DCL she would have been left behind. She said the tour guide kept saying no problem on time, we won't be late. Um wrong on that one. So I don't care what a tour company says or what others say, if it ain't put on by DCL I am not going.

I agree, we have done both non-DCL and DCL. On our WBTA in one port there were a couple things we wanted to do. So, we booked the non-DCL excursion in the morning and the DCL in the afternoon. That way if we were delayed the ship would be waiting. Sure enough we were delayed a little and were one of the last getting back on before the gangway was pulled.

I have some friends taking their first cruise ever...planned by another family member as a surprise 40 birthday for his wife. (Their daughter) They are on Norwegian Sky, sailed out of Miami yesterday for four days, duh...there is a hurricane in the direct route!!! I am sure they didn't find out about it until they got to Miami to board because they spent the last 6 days at Disney World and there the outside doesn't exist. LOL I haven't been able to find the "route" of the ship to see where they are now in relation to hurricane. Plan to call NCL later to see if they have link for a map showing ship or if it has a webcan like on the Wonder. We were thinking about asking her if she wanted to join us on Hawaii voyage but this may screw that up:mad:. Just hope they ship finds calm waters or changes course. Both Carnival and Royal Caribbean changed their cruises out of Miami yesterday because of hurricane.....
I told them to try and convince sil to arrange cruise on Disney, but he was going for best deal :rolleyes1 yup hurricane rates are best deal...........

castoff - Prayers & Pixie Dust from someone who did her hurricane shopping Sunday in South Floridia. I hope Irene makes a BIG turn and becomes a fish storm. :goodvibes

I see weather channel reporting Carolinas as where they expect Irene to hit US...stay safe. I am sure if you have lived there more than a year this will not be your first hurricane:rolleyes: Fortunately I have only had experience with hurricane edges hitting inland when in collage in north Louisiana and that was bad enough. Please post as soon as you can after it passes so we know all is ok. Prayers that is decides to head east sooner than later.

Home Irene goes out to sea or weakens before it hits. We are up in CT now but worried about our Manufactured home in Merritt Isalnd, FL

Ditto for prayers to all in Irene's path. I think Castaway Cay may be hard hit. I am thankful the storm veered away for S. Florida, and hope she just turns out to sea...

Thanks Everyone ! I do believe in prayers and pixie dust ! :goodvibes So I go to walmart this morning thinking I was beating the rush. :rolleyes1 I was LUCKY to get the last 2 packs of D batteries. :scared1: Water flying off the shelf. 150.00 later and I think we are prepared. Now the latest model shows it might hit NC. Still 4 days away and it can change. I vote for out to sea !!!
I have only been here for 3 years. ( From NY ) Last time hurricane hit here was in 1999. I am not right on coast but not far from it either. My DD leaves for college on Thursday. Emotions of that alone is running high.:sad1: Thinking positive thoughts and trying not to " Freak " out about everything.

On one of our cruises a couple of years ago, the captain threaded his way among 3 separate hurricanes/tropical storms. We did fine. (Gotta love the hurricane season rates!)

Tina, what part of NY are you from? We moved from Queens to Virginia.

Waaahooo! We just experienced a 5.9 earthquake here. It really made me feel a lot of sympathy for those folks who live in CA and NZ! I can't believe how scared I was! They're not exactly a common occurrence in VA.
