I am a knitter but have never brought a project on a cruise. Maybe this time if there is space in the luggage
but
we are flying Delta with frequent flier miles and have to pay for our luggage unlike when we fly SouthWest.

Jan/ Kana

We are Delta as well. we are supposed to have 2 free luggage but...

suffice to say "but". i will let you know when we board......

Then I'm worried there will be more "open house" hours then "secure". Don't understand me wrong, I don't want to get rid of my kids, but kids like it there without us, parents and we would like few hours for our self too.

I won't lie...I want to get rid of my kid! LOL
I am a single parent, that works from home, so we both love our time apart!
I really don't think there is anything to worry about in terms of low numbers of children. Even if Oceaneers Club has open house, the lab will be open for secure children.

My oldest doesn't care to go to the kids clubs...BUT, I am hoping that he will meet some new friends and want to stay in the clubs to play with them.. Now, the youngest is just over 2 so he would have to go to the nursery, and I am afraid that he won't have much fun in there.. He wants to do what big brother does..

I have another 2 of the 190 :) I then expect we won't wait 1 and 45 minutes for Princesses gathering??? :)

I have 2 boys.. I am pretty sure we don't have to worry about the wait in the princess lines! :lmao:

Now for the other characters, we will have to meet and greet.. My youngest is a character finatic!.. He tries his best to not stand in line, he tries to line jump!.. He is 2, waiting isn't quite in his vocabulary just yet.. Nor is patience!.. So, the less wait time we have the better!.. :clown:

A few people made some comments earlier in the post about also having to travel with c-pap or bi-pap machines and wondering about distilled water etc. I have another question for this group...what do you do about cleaning the tubes etc when traveling? We have only had machine 2 weeks and they told us to wash tubing etc every week. Any suggestions or do and don'ts from experience??

You know when you're a new user, you're all anxious to do everything by the book - and I was too. That was 5 years ago. I got some good advice early on over on the 'coping and compassion' board that helped me simmer down. Believe it or not - there are even CPAP user message boards just like the dis for Disney nuts.

I'm no doc, of course, but IN MY EXPERIENCE, You'll really be FINE using tap water for a couple weeks - basically it goes in the little pan and the air blows over it. It never touches a moving part. If you happen to have highly mineral water, you might get a little sediment in the evaporation pan, so you have to clean it when you get home. But is it going to hurt you or the machine. NO. (And the ship water won't have a lot of minerals in it because of how it's made)

Cleaning the tubing and the pillows or cushiions - yeah clean it once in a (especially after you've had a cold) by running hot water through it and hanging it up to dry . - can you go two weeks without cleaning it? Yes - or even 3. Again, it's not going to hurt the machine. The pillows or cushions - I like to use lavender baby wash in a cup of water for mine - because it smells nice. Can you wait until you get back home to do the cleaning? yes. It's not going to hurt you or the machine if you don't.

I would be religious about changing the filter monthly, though. It covers the air inlet and gets pretty dirty.

Sleep well!

Brayden is in kindergarten and did two years of preschool. He loves his time away from me. When I drop him off he gives me a hug and runs in to play with his friends. Maybe he can chat up with your oldest and go in to the clubs together to see how he does. They'll call you if he wants you.

He'll love the fact that there seems to be a lot more "random character encounters" on these longer special cruises! at least that was true on last years WBTA and WBPC cruises.

I have a kindergarten boy too who is very excited about making new friends at the clubs. He'll happily welcome shy guys.

On our EBTA last May we had maybe a few more kids then that but nothing seemed to be canceled because of a shortage of children. We had a kids overnight in the camps, and all the other activities plus more that you would expect from a 14 night cruise. The lab was open a couple of nights for adults but otherwise plenty for the kids and short lines for the characters!:thumbsup2

so maybe this Big Kid can have her picture taken with the characters then?:goodvibes

Eli has been going to pre school to, but, he is not one to get to far away from Mom or Grandma..But, he has started getting away here and there.. He may do great if he finds him a good friend that will hang with him... :goodvibes

I LOVE the "random character encounters" with Goofy.. You have to be a special CM to play that part!... At least on the one and only cruise we were on, Goofy had to be my favorite.. That crazy feller would ride the elevators up and down, run thru the halls, and even into and fall over the things that mark lines.. I am team Goofy when it comes to the random things the characters do!:cheer2:

Make sure you plan on joining us at the Lil' Person Meet on Monday morning at 10am up on the Wide World of Sports deck.

Great time for our kids (my DS is a Kindergartener too!) to meet one another so they can look forward to "play dates" at the clubs and in the pools later.

:cool1:

Would someone happen to know how to address a box to have sent to the port? I have been looking, but unfortunately with the search disabled, I am having a hard time finding the information.

Metro Shore Services
Berth 93A
World Cruise Center
Port of Los Angeles
Terminal Managers Office

Double check the Berth # coz it changes
call: 310-514-4051

You MUST do a packing slip with contents, name of ship, sail date, stateroom number. It needs to be there Thursday prior to departure.

Make sure you include all your info in the return address.

Someone might want to put this info on page one....just a suggestion.

I would be very upset if they did!.. We paid the price for them to be able to enjoy EVERYTHING!.. Not our kids' fault that the cruise has very few kids. There is no reason they should do with out the activities.. IMO....:scratchin

We have been on the TA and PC, both with few children and we never heard any comments from parents that anything was canceled or that there was not enough to keep the kids busy and parents happy. :thumbsup2 It's all good!!! :flower3:

Maybe a group trip to the club after they have met and played a bit on the sports deck would help those shy ones. Even if it is just for a few minutes. :)

Thank you so much! Wondering then if I should have it delivered to the ship or to the hotel pre-stay because we are having it delivered from Amazon.

To be honest, both me and Linda/seaulater had problems getting it delivered to our staterooms when shipped to the LA port last year for the LA repo. So this time, I decided to mail to the hotel. Then I decided to pay for an extra bag and just bring it with us and check it in.
