(Apologies if I have missed this somewhere...)

For those staying at the Grand Californian the day before, is there a consensus as to how folks are getting to the port? I couldn't get a straight answer from the concierge desk on Disney transportation. Also, do we know what time the port opens for arriving passengers? Is it 10:00 like Port Canaveral?

Thanks.

We too have to pay for an extra suitcase for all our Disney stuff. The problem dealing with 5 suitcases especially when can't lift

We're around the corner at Candy Cane Inn. I have ordered a shuttle from Karmel - I'm sure there's space in it, if you want to go that way also - we're being picked up at 10 am. It's $58 for two people.

PORTER!:thumbsup2

If you have an FE I would go ahead and hang it...never know..there may be others who have extras to drop off.....
Thanks for the tip!:thumbsup2 I will definitely hang it up. My husband and I even talked about making some for our own kids and dropping them in at random times.
GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers

My precruise crafting is almost done. WHAT am I going to fill my time with for the next two weeks?:confused3

I have an extra - pm your room number. How old are your kids?

I love to deliver fe gifts - I did three rounds on our 7 day cruise, but they weighed less and there were FAR fewer of them:rotfl:

Happy day, all!
Thank you! Sent you a PM. Please send me your room, too. Yes, going around and delivering our gifts is one of my best memories from our last cruise. :goodvibes
Thank you for agreeing to get a mascot meet organized.........
Could someone fill me in on the mascot meet? I'm still working on catching up on all the past posts...
I also have an extra FE gift. If you want to PM me your room number as well, I'd be happy to help.
Thank you! Sent you a PM. Please send me your room number too.
@DisneyManFamily4 - Hang up your FE, I have extras as well. I'm only in 2 groups and most of the people are duplicates in my second group, so I'm delivering to a bunch of additional cabins that aren't in either of my group.
Thank you! Sent you a PM. Please send me your room, too.
I too got on the list too late and have gifts available...anyone else in this fix please send your room # and I will deliver! Anyone with extras...I'm in 5137!
Thank you! Sent you a PM. We'll be sure to come by your way.
I have shipped the Fish Extender gifts to California today, but I have some spares in every category and for one or two families, they will just fit in my purse. So if you let me know your stateroom number, I will add you to my list.

Corinna

Howdy, Neighbor! We're in 5131.

Wish I had someone to ship mine TO. I'm thinking I'll just ship an extra suitcase and pay for it.

.

I'm in California. You can ship your box to me if you'd like. PM me if I can help.

In case anyone else wants to exchange room numbers for the FE, we're in 7565! Feel free to PM me with your room numbers, even if you don't have extras. 17 days to go!:cool1:

I believe that there were some people going with us to Hawaii that were also on the Fantasy MV. I was curious as to how things worked out for MV merchandise. Did you have to spend the night sleeping in the hallway? Was there an order form available for pins? I know I read some horror stories from a number of people who were on other unique cruises and I was hoping that DCL would get a process ironed out to make it fair for everyone.

The port opens at 10:30 officially.

We took DCL transportation from Grand Californian in October. We had to have our baggage ready for collection at eight and the bus left at 12:15.

A bunch of us are travelling with stuffed friends of one kind or the other. So the idea was born that the stuffed friends and their owners may want to have a meet and greet as well. I am trying to get this off the ground at the moment. The idea is that we will meet one afternoon on a sea day coming back from Hawaii.

Hello to Spiney Norman and Disneyfamilyman4 and anyone else in similar situation.

I also have extra FE's. How many are in your cabin(s)? Please let me know.

Spiney Norman, I saw your info. Love your name. I am a fan of Monty Python also, and am apt to quote from their episodes. Unfortunately, I usually get blank stares or puzzled looks when I do so.

I think the last time I checked in on the thread, we were on thread #1. ;) Two weeks from tomorrow we fly to CA. Hoping I can stay motivated at work for two more weeks!

I am kicking myself right now! and about ready to burst into tears.
First off, Hi again everyone. It's been a really long time since I've logged on and kept up with all the DISers. I've been working and going to school 7-9pm weekdays, not to mention spending time with the family on weekends. Anyway, I shouldn't complain, I've got a job now and I'm REALLY looking forward to our cruise.
Anyway, I would just jump on and check the spreadsheet periodically and I never noticed any changes. This week is my spring break and I was getting ready to do the FE gifts. I log on and start reading, backtracking all the posts and I get to all the posts with all the activities closing. So I'm off the FE gift exchange. I just responded to a couple of PMs but I wouldn't blame them for saying it's too late. It's all my fault. I should've known something was wrong when the spreadsheet wasn't showing any updates. I should've just popped in and asked.
Sorry to lay that all on you, I just don't know how I'm going to break it to the family. I really dropped the ball on this one. :sad1:

Sorry for your stress! It was really confusing with the FEs!!
But anyway....We always make extra FEs, so please PM me your info too!! We are Bev & Gary in 5642 but may try for an upgrade at the port.....fat chance though...:lmao:

I updated my assorted spreadsheets as soon as she posted and I have her as 8560. I even remember that she chatted with Amyreneemt saying that they are now neighbours and they are in 8562. Corinna

I love your lists, Corinna!! They are so comprehensive & up to date, I don't know how you stay on top of it so well! But I have your sheets bookmarked!!

Just wondering...maybe it would be possible to have a small list of any late-comers as "alternates" on the list with their details? I know you are not responsible for the FEs, but I saw that you are planning to include some extras. :hippie:

This can most certainly be arranged. I get down to it tomorrow.

Corinna, I SEE why they love you at your work place! Your organizational skills are AMAZING.

Jennifer, that's right kindly of you to offer! I may take you up on it - although, I guess I could ship to the hotel, just as well now that I think about it - you're going to have plenty of your own to wrangle!

I just wanted to share this. It has become a bit of a tradition that I commission a special piece of jewellery form a fantastic jewellery artist in New Hampshire for every cruise. This is this year's edition:

This is still work in progress, but I really love it.

Organization has always been my strength. I think I was 14 when I organized my first day camp at church for 100 + kids. Most of the staffers were much older than me, but they quite happily went along with my ideas. In a funny sort of way, I think organization is an outlet for my creativity.

Corinna

Right, I think it is time to take this particular bull by its horns. I think the consensus was that we will have a group photo with the Hawaiian shirts. The question is where and when. I was kind of hoping that somebody would come forward and make an executive decision, but I don't think this is going to happen. So lets see if we can sort this out between the lot of us.

I think the location is easy: the atrium and probably on the staircase. Time-wise, I think 4 PM would probably work great. It won't clash with Palo Tea, anybody's dinner or the shows and in my experience the character photos and photos against the various backdrops usually start around 5:00 PM, which means we are not in anybody's way. So all we need now is a date. Does anybody have an idea?

We are also staying at the Candy Cane Inn around the corner.. We using DCL transfers. We will be meeting the bus at the GC that morning. I think it picks up at 1215 or 1230.

We have extra FE gifts, too, so will include you and Spiny Norman in our deliveries. We are in 7632.

I made 99 gifts, as we are in all the groups. Last time I saw the total number of participants was somewhere around 94. Anybody got a link for the list of staterooms (participants)?

Dale

We were on the Fantasy MV - DCL did an INCREDIBLE job of avoiding lines and mobs (and for those of us that were also on the Dream's MV this was a difference of night and day)!

They had an RSP for pins & limited edition collectibles - apparently everyone got what they wanted because by the 3rd or 4th day the stores had many of these out for sale.

The MV champagne flutes were in our stateroom when we arrived - one per person. They still had free champagne at the sailaway but it was in plain plastic flutes. (The Dream MV saw people collecting cases of the glasses, while many others were unable to even get one).

The Ducky Williams litho was given out already signed by Ducky - thus avoiding the near riot that occurred at his signing on the Dream MV when crew members attempted to re-direct the line.

And best of all - in the embarkation Navigator and on signs placed all around the stores:
"Maiden voyage, inaugural, & fantasy logo merchandise is limited to two per person, per size, per style." Because of this, the stores were fully stocked with tee shirts, hats, hoodies & all other maiden voyage merchandise for the entire cruise.
