WOO HOO:cool1::cool1:after checking the DCL website 4 or 5 times a day we were finally able to book our family on tubing the ditch excursion. We have been booking in pairs hoping it would come together.

Many of you have stated the number of years married, we feel like newlyweds, but, April 25 will be the anniversary of our first date (25 years ago) and our 14 year anniversary. Makes it easy to remember dates and not get in trouble with the bride!!!!:rotfl2::thumbsup2

Followed by May 5th, as my 50th

now just have to get that Palo brunch!!!

My kids and I are booked for the EB Panama Canal cruise! I'm stressing about packing for 2 weeks for just me. I'm not sure what I'll do when I have to pack for 4 and have to take baggage into consideration since we will be flying home. Really looking forward to it though!

DONE! :dance3: Not perfect, but acceptable to Mr. Picky:cloud9:

Next up, Teddy Bear Clothes.

Anyone considering the East Bound Panama Canal Cruise in December? We're signed up for the West bought next May, together, but I wouldn't mind doing the EB too, if I could find a room mate. (DH won't go then - it's SKI season)

I am curious exactly "how" most of your pack your clothes. Do you roll - as people tell me to do, fold or use a system like I do?
I have used the eagle creek bags for years for packing. Since my daughter and I share suitcases we have everything in our own different packing bags and they have been awesome on getting blouses and "dress" clothes to our destination almost to completely wrinkle free. They have a really great system. But this is the first time that space is a real issue. We are driving, but the cruise is only 1/2 of our trip and we need clothes other than Hawaii sun cruise clothes with us. I will have a small suitcase for "on the road" clothes that I will leave in trunk of car and not take on ship...complete with small set of toiletries. This is also so once I close suitcases for cruise they can stay that way until in our cabin.
I need to reduce suitcase count by one if possible to make more room in the car. We always travel with a wheelchair, so it is part of planning, but now I need to include a walker, special lg. pillow and a breathing machine:eek: Sigh..I am going to have to tip a porter big $$$ to unload my car :sad2:
The real tricky part is a friend is flying down to meet us after cruise and go to Disneyland with us and riding with us to her home in SF afterwards. Wonder how upset she would be if she has to hold her bag in her lap all the way.:rotfl:.

 nope--the next show is April 29 then one more episode before the finale. I figure that will be the three Sundays we are on the cruise. :sad2:

And we'll be missing the May ratings sweep weeks too. TIVO is our friend. I accidentally blipped out an episode of Desperate Housewives a coupla weeks ago but did a Google search and watched it online. The screen was way smaller than our t.v. but at least I was able to get caught up. :thumbsup2

Oh, I think I'll just empty all the dresser drawers into suitcases and sit on them! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

No, really, we usually roll the t shirts, shorts, etc. We lay the dress up clothes out,

We also are traveling with a wheelchair, and a bedrail, and a plastic shoe box to soak Patrick's feet in (he always swells up) Plus a whole drugstore that we bring with us.......

My husband thinks we are going to cut down HA! He's got a big surprise coming.....at least I told him today what I am planning for FE gifts, and he was happy.

We so many of us with medical problems we will be taking a blood pressure machine wiht us.It also show if you have an irregular heartbeat. If anyone needs to use it please do not hesitate to come knocking on our door- cabin 6046. Hopefully the cruise will bring all our BP down

I just realized you are right next door to us. My husband Mark and I are in room 6048. We will be having Brunch in Palo together too:) ...SO EXCITED:):cheer2:

I just sit up in bed and make sure the covers haven't been stolen

 Burglers in Surrey steal covers? :confused3

In USA they steal valuables they can fence for money for drugs.

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

OK....we need good thoughts and vibes since this will be one terrific cruise....no problems....no medical problems or evacuations....just a lot of good karma.....and to think that in 8 short months I will be offically a GEEZER...never thought of myself as old.....good luck and great amount of pixie dust to all and good happy thoughts please!

:scared: Nobody said anything about OLD!! :scared1:

::yes:: experienced, yes. ;)

:sad2: but not old......

:littleangel:

You look less than 37 in that picture!

I was 37

in

1986. :lmao:

.

Aww Jan, aren't you a sweetie :flower3:

Mostly rubber stamping/paper crafts...love making greeting cards. But when it comes to Christmas, I'll do all kinds of stuff. Don't sew or knit, and really admire those who can (Jan is my idol in that department). I plan on practicing more with caligraphy once I'm retired too. Love to draw and will spend more time on that too. My 'pie in the sky' dream would be to write and illustrate children's books. Hmmmmm....maybe I should be throwing a sketch pad in my luggage.....

Geezers can stay up late....they NAP during the day! :lmao:

.

I also have a dream of writing a children's book someday, but illustrations are beyond me. My calligraphy has fallen by the wayside and computer fonts have taken its place .. my calligraphy teacher's worst nightmare is a reality :headache: :scared1:

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

To the poster who was bringing a bed rail - if you only need it on the ship, Disney has them. Ask your stateroom host.

Packing - I roll, dh folds. Even my dress clothing is rollable. I put my small rolls in those little collapsible fabric boxes from the dollar store and unpack by lifting the box out and sliding it in the shelves under the safe. My entire wardrobe fits in that half of the closet, leaving all the drawers and the other half closet for dh. We, too, use a seperate suitcase for the road, but it will have to come on board with us, because we won't have a car to store it in.

To the person on the EBPC cruise - can you fly home on Southwest? They allow 2 FREE suitcases each, of up to 50 pounds.

Called about the new bathroom vanity yesterday. Instead of coming in NEXT week, like it was supposed to - it now will not arrive until the day we leave. I AM NOT HAPPY. We wanted to be DONE before we left.

Today - gym, return half the clothes I bought yesterday, yard work, make teddy bear shirt. Buy yarn for wedding gift afghan.

Happy Day, all.

Good Morining Cruisers......

I still have NOT heard anything from DCL as far as a venue goes....

I have received a lot of responses sending more money than asked for. So I have decided that everyone is now a taster. Everyone will get the same amount of champagne poured in their glasses and feel free to go back for seconds or thirds, etc. if you find one you like a lot.

These are the people that I have not heard from and not collected any money from and so I will have to turn away if they show up at the event. I cannot accept their money onboard. I cannot let them in for free when everyone else paid so generously. If you know how to reach any of them, please do so and let them know they are about to be eliminated from the function. Thanks.

That's 17 ladies. Cindy, I understand why I have not heard from you and why you were away from here for a while. I added you to the list until I get your payment.

That would put us at 77 total instead of 94. I actually like that number better. I'm afraid that DCL is not going to find a venue big enough for all of us. I was thinking of Wavebands, but we'll see what they say. Probably another week. They usually wait until 2 weeks before we sail to assign us a room.

Only a week away until my son finds out about Aulani! He doesn't learn that we are getting there by crusie ship until next Saturday! I'm such a sneaky Mom. :goodvibes

:littleangel:

OLD is a state of mind! Yesterday I was at Ross , found a nice dress and was in line.....ahead of me the clerk said and you get 10% off today!

I said to the lady in front of me....oh, today must be old people's discount day!......she and the lady in front of her started laughing so hard! I said there were perks for those of us who got this old!

I'll take 10%off on Tuesday for being "a senior" any day! :hippie::hippie::hippie:
