Since I will be turning 35 in July, I am expecting big things then! Most days I don't feel my age. I feel like I have aged 20 years since Dh died.

Now now NOW! You and I both know how great you are doing! Of course you'll wish for other things, but so do I! Just keep swimmin'! As Dora tells Nemo's dad!

Hi everyone,

It won't be long now. I have emailed your confirmation #'s for the Doubletree so please check your :surfweb: email. If any of the information is incorrect,:confused3 please let me know (bweiss923@aol.com) asap so it can be corrected. If you didn't receive an email from me, also let me know ASAP so you can be added. Since I didn't have enough people at any of the other hotels for a group rate, I cancelled them and only kept the Doubletree. I booked 20 rooms and we ended up with 19. Before I let the other room go, if anyone wants to stay at the Doubletree, let me know so you can join in the fun.

Don't forget about our "Minnie" Dis meet:grouphug: at the Doubletree San Pedro on the 28th at 8 pm in the lobby area near the bar so we can let the party begin. :dance3::dancer:party::jumping1::drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:jumping2::bounce::dancer:

We really wanted to book this and I have been checking every now and again if it had opened up again. I missed it this morning, but actually I was quite relieved that I did not have to make the decision between this and the excursion we ended up booking.

Not sure how many spots you need, but at 9pm (Central Time) Tubing the Ditch excursion still is open.

Right there with you Lexa! I was 38 1/2 when I got married and 39 1/2 when DS was born...thus why he is an only child! :rotfl:

We have two Stephanie, but mostly because my girl just happened when my son was 3 months old :) Wouldn't change for anything now, but then..I was shocked :)

Reality is that no one offered to do everything for me so I had no choice but to pick myself up and carry on mainly for the sake of my kids. However, if someone said I could wave the white flag within that first year, I just may have! Three and a half years later and I am in aoretty good rhythm as far as day to day life goes. I get the kids where they need to be and make sure they are doing well in school. The reality of my life hits every night about 8pm after the kids have gone to bed and I'm all alone but I go to bed and wake back up and start the process all over. So even though I have some anxiety about leaving the kids for 2 weeks, I do know that I need it. I'll have a small taste of relaxation when we set sail this Sunday to the MR. The kids still have no idea and I'll have no guilt about going without them on this cruise since they get to go next week!

 so sorry you did not have a support system then.

I hope you have friends now who can and do give you breaks when you need them.

And a listening ear whenever you need one.

You are indeed a strong woman! ::yes::

Bev,

I did not get an e-mail :sad2: Sorry did not reply sooner but my computer keeps crashing

For those of you tubing the ditch (or doing other water related excursions,) are you bringing a water proof camera, either a cheap one or a fancy one? I'd like to get pics but wonder how hard it will be to hold onto while tubing?

oh, we'd ALL like to be 35 again...the best age!

Nope....32 is the perfect age!:thumbsup2

I remember as a kid asking my mom how old she was and she said 32. I told her that was the perfect age and she wanted to know why. I said because I figure when you are 21 you might THINK you are an adult, but I bet the other adults don't think you are! She just cracked up and told me I was right. Thirty two just sounded right...definately an adult, but still young enough to get prettied-up and go out dancing like mom and dad did!

As it turned out, 32 was a pretty darn good year for me! Hmmmmmm....wonder if 64 will be DOUBLE good?

.

I still have a lot to do for this trip. Work is taking up too much energy, BUT there are only 7 work days left till retirement.:woohoo: (OK....maybe 8 if I go in one day this weekend, but that's extra trip $$)

Still gotta:
Advise bank/visa of travel plans, buy trip insurance, send 'hold' info to USPS and netflix, alert my next-door-neighbor to travel dates (we keep an eagle eye out when we know the other is traveling), get hair cut and colored (pedicure already booked) and then there's the small issue of packing!

Going to try for a road-trip/pre cruise suitcase so the big one can remain unopened till we're on the ship. That's four days pre trip and I don't own many clothes, so looks like I WILL be joining in on the first night laundry party!

Question about LA traffic [or I should say LAX @ noon on Friday]
Going from LAX to Disneyland Friday afternoon....
:surfweb: How is the traffic???? :confused3

Any Traffic on Sunday going back to LAX [10:00ish] :rolleyes1
Thanks in advance

Robin & Angel "D" :thumbsup2

Traffic on a Friday at noon between LAX and DL should take you about 45 min to a hour even using our Carpool lanes on Sunday morning traffic is light. Figure no more than 40 min to come back unless there is a bad accident.

For the road part of the trip I tend to take "old" clothes because I figure no one will know me or see me again and it saves the rest for Dl cruise etc. And I can leave those in car while on the cruise!

Hi I am signed up for the Champagne Girls under my moms DIS name DisneyNut56 (sheree/Danielle). I just wanted to let you know we still want to attend and will send you the money via paypal by the end of the week. We have been crazy busy getting ready for the cruise and it just slipped our minds. lol We are really excited this is our first Champagne Girls and look forword to meeting all the lovely Pink Ladies!

Thanks for letting me know. Please remember to mark it as a gift and put your first names and your mom's DIS name in the comments so that I can credit you both properly.

I made a list of everything I have left to do and then I didn't do any of it. haha.

Hopefully I'll get more done next week.

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

64 is FABULOUS! I wouldn't go back to being 32 OR 35 again, even if I could. Although we did live in Germany at that age and life was good.

Some of the benefits of 64?
  • Menopause
  • Retirement
  • FINALLY have the self confidence (or "I don't care what other people think") attitude lacking earlier
  • financial freedom
  • grandkids (mine are borrowed, but I'm sure home grown are even better)
  • afternoon naps

Too funny:rotfl2:
I'm sneaking up on it.

I've started 'gathering', although that's hindered by the spare room bathroom renovation project.
Yesterday, I ordered my mailorder scripts, c-pap parts, and Disney Rewards Card.
Dh's shirt is finished and the teddy Bear clothing will be today. New clothes are bought, tried on, and detagged, otc meds bought. Magnets printed

Still to do: print FE labels, order ecv for DL, see if I can find a car code for Vegas, pack, inform cc of travel ( need to wait until closer - it only lasts 30 days), organize travel folder. Update FE list. Not so much. It will all get done.

Happy Day, all!

We are bring one....sometimes you can hand your camera off to a guide or even to another to take a couple of pics for you....or even exchange e-mails and we can share ours....just a thought
