I am not very tech savvy when it comes to things like this.. SOOO.. How do I get the images from your Flicker page and onto say like Zazzle or Walgreens?

I've been on the phone with a few companys. Unfortunately, there is no easy answer. I was hoping to find someone that I could just put the picture out on their web and people could order t-shirts, adults and kids.

Walgreens has kids shirts, they are on sale today, but only white. They can't give me the specs for the photos so I would need to play with the upload resolution and photo size should anyone want to use them.

Custom Ink has a nice blue tee in all sizes but I think we would have problems with the Disneyish images. Same with Zazzle. But if anyone wants to try, I'll be happy to help them with the image.

Bottom-line, if you want t-shirts, need help with the image, send me a PM or e-mail, Valbob89@aol.com. I'll be happy to help anyway I can. Sorry I couldn't come up with an easy way of doing this. I tried.

OK, if you want to use someone's images like Val's you have to download to your computer and then upload it to the other site like Walgreens. Very easy!!! That way the company does not have to keep track of it and you will have your own account to store images. If you have any questions I will be happy to try and answer them.

:cheer2:

I thought it would be easy too - and it would be if your using a photo you created yourself and it is the right size. If you download my image to your computer the image will not have the same resolution and may not be the right size for the shirt. Some of you who have done this and tried to make Vista Prints had the problem with getting the message "low resolution".

For Walgreen's set-up your own account. PM or e-mail me your e-mail address and from the my Walgreens's account I'll "share" my photo with you. Basically, Walgreen's will give you access to my photo - I won't have access to your account. What isn't easy - I'll need to adjust the size of the photo, in photoshop, to the size of the shirt you are ordering, (adult shirts take a larger photo then kids). In the Walgreen's site you can only crop, not resize so you won't get the full image if you do it on their site. I've spent 15 minutes with them on the phone and searched their site - they don't know the specifications for the photos and different sizes. I'll have to just keep adjusting and downloading. I'll stop here and stop boring you with the details. If you want to use Walgreen's contact me.

I found another place that does have all size shirts, and blue ones. They are also pretty reasonable. Spread Shirts. However, some of the reviews I found aren't that great in the customer service area. I don't think you would have a problem with the image if you order through them. Has anyone used Spread Shirts?

Just wondering how everyone is getting to the port, our plan would be to fly in the night before and stay in a hotel close to the airport and then somehow get to the port, any advice?? Also any suggestions on hotels for the night before? A free shuttle to the hotel from the airport would be fantastic :)

A group of us who is getting in the night before are staying at Doubletrre in San Pedro. Not sure what other are using to transfer from LAX to the hotel, but my family is using Super Shuttle with the price of $51 for family of 4. From the hotel to the port we will use free hotel's shuttle.

If you are interested for DoubleTree group rate, which was $139 I think contact Bev (mickeymom923). We also have Minnie Meet in the lobby that evening at 8PM with others staying at that hotel.

Do we think the cost of a photo CD is going to be the same as a 7 day cruise, or do you think it will be more? Does anyone know what they paid for the PC cruises?

I paid $399 on the PC cruise last year and this is what I have budgeted for this cruise.

Wow, just 6 weeks from today we'll all be boarding the Wonder for a fantastic 15 night cruise! For me it is even more surreal since I won't have the kids with me. I remember the first time Dh and I went on vacation without the kids and we kept commenting on how weird it felt. LOL Now this trip I will be without both my Dh and the kids...I just may be a mess up on deck 10 at the sail away party!

The kids have been a little sad watching me prepare my FE gifts for this cruise knowing they won't be on it! They have no clue they will be boarding the Wonder 3 weeks from today (on Easter!) with me and grandma and grandpa! I plan on doing a scavenger hunt Easter morning to reveal the surprise. I guess I should get started on that!

I had not realized that you have another cruise booked before ours. You will have to share with us how your kids reacted when they found out.

I know that DCL is offering transfers from LAX. Maybe give them a call to find out how it works. Whenever we have cruised out of Port Canaveral, we always have flown in a day or two early and stayed at a hotel near the airport and then just took the hotel shuttle to the airport in the morning. This should hopefully be possible in Los Angeles, too.

I placed an order for some jewellery making supplies yesterday and I ordered enough 10mm lobster clasps and the smallest size of jump rings to make 20 charms out of earrings. I know that a couple of people have mentioned that they are interested in this service.

I think I am probably out of luck, but I am going to ask anyway. I have found something on Etsy that I really love. Unfortunately the seller does not have any suitable fabric for my purpose, but has offered to do this for me if I can provide some fabric. I really would love to use our fabric. I would need two pieces measuring approximately 14" wide and 12" long. The seller is in USA so postage would be easy. Are there people out there who could sell me some fabric?

We set sail in 6 weeks! That's 42 days!

We are staying the at Marriott at LAX then taking Disney shuttle to the port...

We are also staying at the Mariott at LAX and taking the Disney shuttle to the port. We are flying in on the Saturday and we're thinking of going to DL for the day. We've never been and will probably never be on the West coast again.

Hello to All Participating in the Alternate Luau:

We have 66 confirmed folks (52 adults and 14 kids). So, it is time to make payment so I can secure our venue and motorcoachs. We'll do this just like Val did for shirts through PayPal.

  1. First, please go to www.paypal.com and enter your account info (or set one up)
  2. Then, click on the "Send Money" tab
  3. In the "To" box enter "SanDiegoSteph-dcl@yahoo.com"
  4. Enter the amount you owe per the list below
  5. Then, click on the "Personal" tab
  6. Select "GIFT" to answer the question "This money is being sent as a:" - this is CRITICAL so that neither you nor I get charged a service fee
  7. Hit the "Confirm" button
  8. At the review page, please put "Alternate Luau" in the Subject Line and your DisName and real name in the mesage box so I know who the money is coming from.

Will after the fact do? After the cruise, I would be willing to cut up one of my shirts for you. As it is, I ordered fabric but will need to use it to remake Bruce's shirt (smaller) so I can have his (smaller) and use mine to make the teddy bear shirts. I may also have scraps left before the cruise, but it's going to be a few weeks before I know, and HappyGoofy has already asked for a bit of that.

SO, this morning I bought a pattern for said shirt. Then I got the man to dig in his closet and find one of his old Hawaiian shirts that fit. He brought out two shirts - an XL, (which is what I ordered for him This time, that didn't fit.) The closet one fit beautifully. Then he tried on the L. It was a mile too big. GO figger!

We are having to do a little adjusting for our shirts also but what you are doing is way beyond anything I can imagine  can you tell I don't sew :)
We ordered our usual sizes...daughter always wears a real large size because she requires really large armholes due to surgical scars that can't stand to be touched. Plus being in a wheelchair majority of the time looser is much more comfortable.
We both swam in them when they came. But my shirt is large enough for my daughter so I gave it to her and I am wearing hers that is at least 2 sizes too big but will tie it around my waist like I did with my Dads shirts when I was in jr high...50 yrs ago! A friend saw me in it when I tried it that way (and she sews) so she took it and is going to try to make sleeves smaller as in make seam a least 2" deeper under arms, since I can get 3 arms in one sleeve ..but rest will still be huge. Now I need to find a pretty camisole in the good color to wear under it..because button holes do gap....
I love how all of us are making these shirts and material a little unique yet still be part of a whole. This, the FE's, and the Secret Santa is all making the cruise so much fun ahead of sailing :dance3:

Bev, can you PM me with the information for Double Tree...when I called they said they had never heard of a cruise group or a Bev or the Disney Wonder..????

Thanks...

Val, if you wait til the 20th, I may have a solution. I copied the high quality image into photoshop using a base setting of at lease 300 resolution. I had to adjust the size and pixels so that I did not exceed the 12mg file size for Vista print. The image loaded without the low resolution warning. So I have either figured this out OR I will have a nice sharp blurry image....:lmao:

The shirts are set to arrive on the 20th so I will see.

If it works, I will be happy to share in more detail what I did. If it does not work, I will have happy to share the tip - Don't try IT!!!!!:rotfl:
///
But Vistaprint is only white and grey shirts, I think ????

Unfortunately, Vista Print has as you said, white, grey...and black too...and no kids sizes. I know they would have so much more business if they would expand their shirt selection.
