Snow? Oh my...we are having wonderful, sunny day with temp of 83F.

Spitting snow here today also. 50% chance of snow thru the night tonight. Not terribly uncommon for Montana, but for those folks over in the Portland/Vancouver area it is very late to have snow on the ground on the valley floor! :scared1:

Hello fellow Hawaii cruisers....I did not want to interject any negativity into this thread or cruise but I am not real happy. We were, my DW and I one of theunlucky people who had our Arizona excursion changed from 8 to 9:15--no big deal except we have a 2:45 going over to Aulani. Called an spoke to a cast member at DCL and then on to the supervisor of excursions. Cannot do anything for us--vendor did the change and nothing available at 8 AM. I suggested a waiting list for the early excursion but that is not possible since they don't have the manpower to do it. I guess some of the lucky people who called right away were able to get on the early excursion. Just got the feeling that the whole time I was being talked down to. So on the the DVC to try and change to a later excursion to Aulani. Spoke to a wonderful cast member Sue who tried her best but was unable to change our time for Aulani--she even called DCL and spoke to the supervisor who told her there were no 8:00 excursions scheduled. So now we have to keep our 2:45 excursion and when we get on the ship possibly DVC can change it for us--bottom line is in my heart as an American I have to do the Arizona first and anything else second. Just unhappy with the change. I never ask anything from Disney, and we have taken 27 Disney cruises and been a DVC member since 2003. I just feel sometimes you get spoken to with that Disney arrogance.
OK...I have vented and we will see what happens....no more negative from me from now on. Thanks for listening--I feel better now.
Tom

I would be upset too, Tom. Especially when we are reading here where some are being moved back to the 8 am time. Are you on the adult tour?

So, I'm reading from the main board that Debbie (EpcotKilterFan) is the originator of the Fish Extender phenomenon.

Is this true, Debbie???

Wow - to think a little pixie dust as you passed through the Panama Canal would result in complex excel spreadsheets, copy-cat FEers and so much shared love...

:cheer2:

We're lucky to have you onboard!! :flower3:

Yes, guilty as charged :) I shake my head every day when I read a thread about them and how big they have gotten!! Then I google "fish extender" and amazed at what comes up! There is even a Facebook page :confused3

I can honestly say.. I changed the world :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Just happy to see that everyone enjoys this little bit of magic that I had a small part in.

Debbie

It's true Waikiki and Pearl Harbor are in the opposite directions, but the port is in between and little closer to Waikiki.

Just one bus from the port to Waikiki :thumbsup2

The ship will dock right at the Aloha Tower mall :goodvibes We've seen ships there a few times, it will be so nice to be on one this time :cloud9:

Thanks for all the infomation. It does help ! :)

I totally agree with this, we had a wonderful time just wandering around last time.
They also make great suitcase liners - I had one trip where my suitcase must have been out in the pouring rain - got home and it was soaked through - so now I always line my case with a plastic bag - or Mickey Poncho ...

The Ala Moana shopping mall is between Waikiki and the Port from memory - there is all the usual stores and a Walmart (out of the mall on the street away from the beach). Handy if you need something that go forgotten or to replenish supplies?

This will be my 3rd trip to Hawaii as an adult and we went there once when I was a child.

Good tip about the suitcase Paula. :thumbsup2 I Think that's the shopping I was talking about but since the Aloha Tower is right at port that might be better. :)

And to think I share the same birthday with a celebrity. :goodvibes We need to do something special on board Debbie. :yay:

Our costco does have a Veuve clicquot at around $39 (yellow label one, not the vintage, I don't think). Maybe I should invest in a bottle to share at some point during the cruise? DH doesn't like champagne, so I may need some help with it!! :hippie:

What a bargain! I would never say no to sharing some bubbly. You could come over and visit your room. OH wait a minute, I'll be next door in 5124. I keep forgetting that. I hope I don't try to charge anything onboard to 5122 because I keep forgetting. Opps.

:cheer2:

Your girls were simply amazing!!!

Fantastic, Erik! So sorry about the dim judges; your girls were unbelievable!

yep, the water was soaking Signals....bring it on!

It looks amazing (we cruised in the middle of 3 tropical storms w/35-40 ft. swells), but I pray we don't have anything like that.

I feel like I was struck with a little bit of Hawaiian magic last night. My mom and dad (both passed now, sadly) went to Hawaii 38 years ago. My mom brought back a full-length Hawaiian dress (which was actually made there). I never saw her wear it, but when she passed I felt like I needed to keep it. Well, I found it in the back of my closet yesterday and tried it on. Amazingly, it fit me (and it looks like new even after so long)! So now I need to decide when to wear it...luau, dinner, Palo? Thanks, Mom :cloud9:.

Just wanted to say a quick thank you to all who have PM'ed me as well as all who have voiced support to my vent...disappointed...yes....beaten.....nope!
We will make it work.....thanks again for the support my friends....truly looking forward to meeting you all....

Mother's Day dinner is a Semi-formal so you must wear it then....And wear it also for Palo if you'd like. I'd pass on the luau...sitting on the ground etc......How very special for you...

We were in Tropical Storm Gamma on the Magic in 2005....:sick::sick:And that was the crew!!!! The decks were closed, Formal night was a disaster but I met one of the very BEST crew members ever and have followed her as she has gone from ship to ship....Benita.....she is now on the Dream and in January was in 687. Her old fashioned remedy worked.......I had been down for the count and then some....ever since, motion sickness tablets are in my bag....Losing two days on a 7 night cruise was not fun......

But, we will have nice weather, we will have nice weather, we will have nice weather....(where is that Dorothy and Toto smilie anyway???):goodvibes

What was her old fashioned remedy? Bitters and Club Soda ?

I like candied ginger for my tummy on the rare occossion the sea gets to me.

I can honestly say I have only been seasick once...I had gone on tower of terror (that name is SO right...ugh :headache:) and it screwed up my inner ear so bad that the next day I was sick as could be just looking at the Magic...well, I spent that night sleeping off the meclizine and was right as rain after that.

Another option for those that are really worried - buy the anti nausea wrist bands they sell for pregnancy. Not the stretchy kind, the ones with velcro closures - they have to BOTH be worn, pretty snugly for the whole time, but are water safe. The websites says you can wear just one, but I know it takes both.

or this kind (I have these)

........

We're still in! Looking forward to it. DH loves this activity for having munchies to take to Buena Vista!! I love the different types of candy from different parts of the world. I'm bringing a couple things - one is made in my old home town and another is supposed to be good for sea sickness.....NOT that we will be having any of those 30' swells, thank you very much!!!!!!

:cool1:

Candy good for sea sickness?

I think you should wear it and I also think you should let everyone know your story. It is a great tribute.

Sorry, my mistake. You are absolutely right, there are 21 boys. I overlooked Bryce as he is hiding with the adults.

I would like to correct this. Mothers day is the day before we disembark here in L.A. It will be casual not semi formal

Thank you - my mistake. I keep getting the night of the cruise mixed up with the day of the month. This is from the last poster a few pages back.

Formal night - 2nd night of the cruise
Semi formal - 11th night & 14th night
Pirate night - 13th night

So semi-formal will be the night before Mother's Day?

I have a friend that gets motion sickness while the boat is still in dock. She puts a little round patch behind her ear and she's fine in any weather. She was on the Alaskan with me and since we were on the inaugural cruise we had to take the outside passage north and it was SO rough. She was fine.

I can find out what they are and how to get them if anyone is interested. Let me know.
