Just checked our ressie; still GTY. And still no Wonder or Magic itineraries for 2013. Hmmmmm, hope they've something really good in the works!

Val and I have been working on this since the beginning of this cruise booking. Val found a lovely Hawaiian Ceremony, I will try and tell you briefly what it is. We will need someone to act as a monerator. (Any kind of official or any Disboarder on board that will be willing to do this.) This person will read about the beauty of the Islands and the beauty of your love today. There will be a Lei exchanged which represents eternal commitment to each other After that there is the vow renewel and at the end of the service a lava rock and a Ti leaf is used to commerate the union.

It is not a very long ceremony and ties in the beauty of Hawaii and the love between us.

Those of you that are interested please let Val know. We were planning on decorating the area for the occassion.

We could possibly be interested in this depending on the time. Keep me in the loop concerning the planning as you get more information.

I was thinking that if we have a vow renewal it would be on a sea day, on the way home. I would prefer it be in the afternoon but all of this would be dependent on when/if we get a room. E-mail me if you want to see a copy of one possible ceremony and the menu DCL gave us to review. I also have pictures of possible decorations, cruise specific, we can use. Valbob89@aol.com

Greetings folks,

A few weeks ago, I mentioned to my wife that Disney would be having cruises out of Galveston in 2012 (much closer to Houston than Florida port - from which we've gone on DCL cruises twice). Well, she went to the website and was looking at those cruises, when wouldn't you know, she noticed a couple of cruises to Hawaii. Hmmmm . . . hadn't we talked about taking a vacation to Hawaii one of these years? Turns out we had a nice bunch of DVC points from 2010&2011 we hadn't been able to use, and to make a long story shorter, sometime early last week I think, right after new years, she was on the phone with DVC and was able to book this April cruise to Hawaii! Wow. I'd figured that with tickets going on sale last April, they would have been sold out for sure, but I guess there've been some cancellations. So we're happy to be joining you all. Don't think I'll ever get caught up on all the posts on these threads, but I do see that a lot of summaries are listed in the first pages. I think we'll be interested in lanyards, so thats an email to get off soon, plus she may be interested in one of the jewelry classes.

This will be a first visit to Hawaii for both of us. Looking forward to it - have ordered that Hawaii by Cruise book, plus waiting to be able to reserve any excursions we would like end of this month. Cabin is still gty. Been pondering what sort of modifications they'll have to the standard cruise for this one - Dinners, Shows, Entertainment, etc. Looking forward to all the *Special* things they could do - would love to see a luau night on ship, but not too hopeful about their turning an empty swimming pool into a huge pig roasting pit. Still, some Hawaiian themed dinners would be fun.

We've already got air reservations made, day before and day after cruise. Believe we're staying at Disneyland Hotel both times (DVC points again).

Aloha.

Jim & Kathy

Just sent you an email about this. Thanks for going the extra mile again and taking care of this. You're incredible!!!!

We are staying at the Grand Californian and would be interested in meeting before the cruise. We are arriving on April 26th.

Our tablemates---a group of 6 of us---are all staying together in a 2-BR villa at Grand Californian, too. We all arrive on Friday the 27th (although very late) and are planning on spending the day in the parks on Saturday and doing a World of Color Dining Package at Ariels on SAturday night the 28th and probably an early morning character breakfast on Sunday the 29th before we head to the port.

If someone IS organizing something like a meet (maybe even like a Saturday lunch in the parks somewhere or something), we might (all) be game! :thumbsup2

Welcome aboard!!! :woohoo: This cruise was sold out completely until DCL offered the one in the fall. Several jumped ship and left a stateroom open just for you!!! :dance3: We've done a few longer cruises and they do shows, entertainment, etc for every day. I think you are right about the swimming pool, but I am sure they will have an Hawaiian themed dinner and probably deck party. :thumbsup2 Several are staying at DL resort prior to cruise and are just now in the planning stages for a meet the night before the cruise, so stay tuned!!

One thing I just can't understand though....having DVC points laying around unused??? :confused3 We are always in point debt! We are using some Sept 2012 points for our stay at VGC after the cruise. A couple of years after our initial purchase we bought an extra 100 points thinking that would do it...nope! :rolleyes1

Corinna, I'm interested in a braclet class too. I sent an e-mail to my cabin-mate (non-DISer) to see if she is interested also. I see a few of my very close friends are signing up...if we 'organize ourselves' can we give you a list of our names so we can have our class together? (provided they WANT to have a class together :lmao

Absolutely! On the Transatlantic in 2010, I was checking for commitments that people had (Palo Brunch or Tea, spa treatments, etc.) and also if there were people who wanted to do the workshop together. I managed to accommodate everybody's preferences. I will not have more than 6 people in each group though. I started off with having 10 to 12 to a group and realised 6 was a perfect number.

I've found my FE gift idea - and have made the command decision to make 100. I LOVE to make stuff :)

I am with you on this. I actually started to buy materials as some of them are coming from Hong Kong and China and I am working on 100 of each kind. I will have so much fun making them. I had not made any jewellery since August or so until I made the demo bracelets and this wetted my appetite again to make more.

Welcome on board.

I am sorry that I got a bit behind. I am on a run of 5 early shifts at the moment and I feel like a zombie. I have one more early shift to go and then I have the weekend off. I will catch up with all my PMs over the weekend.

Hi everyone,

A lot of people have been asking about the "Minnie" meet. :thumbsup2This is in addition to the DIS Meet on the ship only some people want to meet before the meet. :woohoo: The majority of people are now staying at the Doubletree. Party time :dance3: I do have a contract with them for group space (since then the price went up but not our price). I spoke to my contact there and I was told that on the 1st level there is a big lounge area which leads to a bar. I thought since most people are coming in on the 28th, how about we meet around 8:00 pm? I don't want to make it too early for people that will be out and about, yet I didn't want to make it too late. Please let me know if 8 pm works for you. For those not staying at the Doubletree, you are still welcome to meet there too. Please let me know who is interested in coming to meet our new :grouphug: family for 15 days at the "Minnie" meet?

Thanks for organizing this Bev! I would like to join in on the fun too :goodvibes

For you who travel with kids and already booked some adult activities....do you know about new kids clubs policy..."open house".....

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2858080

Read this thread.....I don't really like it....not that I dump my kids there every day and every hour, but we don't know when we will have this open house policy on our cruise...so how do you plan and book?

Count us in!

I just booked some stuff and emailed the interary to myself. The pirate party, ugh I wish it would go away for something new, has been changed to the night we have thev Pirate menu.

I'm getting quotes from Hawaii shuttles for Aulani resort and we can get an 11 passenger vehicle for $110 each way and a 17 passenger vehicle for $187. I'll start compiling a list of passengers so we can figure out how big of a vehicle we will need. Please send me a PM if you are interested in joining us!

Karen, we would be interested, for sure. Just 2 of us, so hope we can get some more interested parties, but I'm all for skipping the rental car hassle if we can.

I'll PM you, but also we spoke earlier about going early & coming back after the sunset activities, so maybe need to make it clear it's not just a quick trip too.

Thanks for coordinating this! :thumbsup2

We are not DVC members and I have been trying to find out if there was a way we could get a room for a day, afford-ably, to enjoy the resort instead of an excursion. Have tried to live chat a few times but they are always busy to see if there is anything other than paying $455 for a room overnight that we will not use after 5pm or so.... Way expensive.....
