Believe I had read in a post way back someone listed dates of the semiformal and formal dinners as well as Pirate Night. Does anyone remember that post or know if anything official has been announced?

Pirate night - Day 6 Hilo this is the only one that is official so far. It was listed as an activity when I booked my excursions.

Someone listed the following "maybe" dates - Formal April 30 Semi Formal May 10 & 12 But two that close together doesn't make a lot of sense, but who knows??

Hello Everyone!

Im sorry to ask this but for those renting vehicles, what company did you go to for best rates? I remember reading that some people had car rentals for each stop and thinking about doing the same.

Just dont know where the boat stops and where we would pick up.

When you have time, please PM me with which company you went with and what the pickup location was.

Oh yea, one more thing..........86 DAAAAAAAYYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yay::cool1:

Pirate night got moved to the second to last sea day. Formal wil be the first full day. The two simi-formal dates were correct as well.

Alright folks----I promised that deadlines would be coming....and HERE THEY ARE!!! I have been in contact with the company I am planning to use to design our lanyards (the actual lanyard to go around your neck...Jason and I (with some graphic/creativity help from Brooklyn:thumbsup2) are designing the name badges). They have completed our sample (and I'm quite happy with it if I do say so myself:goodvibes). In order to place the order, pay for it and give them time to create the lanyards and ship them to me, I'd like to order them by the week of Febrary 19th. This means that the official cutoff date to request lanyards will be Friday, February 17th!! After that date, while I will order a small stock of extra lanyards, I will NOT be able to guarantee lanyards....and once all of the lanyards I've ordered are spoken for then there will not be any additional ones available (i.e. first come, first serve).

So........for anyone who is interested in FREE custom lanyards for yourself and/or your traveling party, make sure you send your info (DIS name(s) and first names of everyone in your party and at least one room # for your group) to me at dcl.hawaii.lanyards@gmail.com

Also, the full list of people who have requested lanyards, along with their info (names, staterooms, etc.) is up to date and viewable as a google spreadsheet. To take a look and confirm that your information is listed there AND that it is correct, click HERE (Note: you can VIEW the spreadsheet, but you cannot edit it....if you need to add/remove/revise your information, please email me directly at the address above.)

(Special note to my wonderful and generous "lanyard team" volunteers-----since I will be ordering the lanyards in Mid-February, you can expect an email from me before the end of the month with details about how much to contribute and where to send it. Thanks!)

Thanks for doing this. I know from past experience how much cost these are. Also, I know how much work Ken put in on our lanyards over the various cruises we were on together.
They are one of the proudly displayed keepsakes in out Disney Room as I am sure these will be too.

Were going with Thrifty because they seem to have the best prices. Whatever agency you use be sure to join there loyalty program. This will allow you to get in and out of the agency quicker. I found that booking through this site was a huge bargain: http://www.hawaiicruisecars.com/

There's a ton of info on renting cars and touring on your own if you visit the CruiseCritic Hawaii boards.

When I go to check my excursions in my reservation I see Pirate Deck Party listed on day 13, which is sea day (Fri, May 11).

Totally agree,

:thumbsup2
I do see that they are listing a cost now of $440 - I think that's for up to 4 people?

We booked our room with points & Karen (sorry, can't remember her dis name right now but will find it) is arranging transportation, leaving when we dock & returning after sunset, so we may have more interested in that!!

.

If you used points for aulani, are they letting you have the room for the day? Or check in at the regular time of 4PM. We were also considering using points but not sure the best way. Any advise would be helpful. thanks
Suzanne

This is a change since I last printed mine, which was Jan 29. But, yes is showing day 13 now. :confused3

I thought I saw a post the other day from someone collecting info from people on the brunch list, but I can't find it now. Could someone help? Thanks tons, Liz

Look on page 170 post 2541

Nope...I was just posting on HOW TO DO IT, I'm not organizing a group.

DIS is so slow it is annoying the heck out of me....

Some more graphics to share with my fellow cruisers :)

Click on thumbnail and it will take you to the full size image so you can then save it to your computer.

The fabric has arrived. I was both excited and nervous to get the box open and see how the material looked. I am not as pleased with all the images as I had hoped, but not as disappointed as I feared. I think the shirts should look good. I really, really like the blues, and the flowers and crabs in the background are very crisp. The lei and other flower colors are lovely. The pictures in the middles of the leis are not as sharp as the images I sent and the proofs the artist produced, but I am sure they will look just fine in the shirt. The material has a very nice feel and will hang well.

I have sent messages to those who ordered material that it is not what we expected. We had been told that the material was 56 inches wide. Actually the material is 62 inches wide but is only printed on 46 inches of the fabric.

The major issue is that the border does not run continuously along the selvedge. Again, perhaps it is due to my ignorance of the manufacturing process, but I assumed the border ran along the length of the bolt -- not horizontal, or across the width. We all thought we would have 56 inches of material, to fit a pattern for a long Hawaiian shift type dress, with the border at the edge to place the bottom of the dress. I should have asked how it would be printed. When we calculated our order amount we also assumed I could just cut it with little or no worry about where the border started and stopped. We ordered 41 yards, and they sent more then that, but they only sent 38 complete repeats with some extra at the top and bottom of the miles and miles of material. If I had known the border was not on the edge but in sections, I would have asked what the depth of the border is at it's highest point. Each border to border section is 38.5 inches, not 36, so I should have just asked for 41 repeats, which would have been about 44 yards. I have written to Becky and I am waiting to hear back from her.

This should in no way impact our shirts but it is an issue for those who were going to use the material assuming the 56 inch width and placement of the border along the edge.

This certainly has been a learning experience for me. I have heard back from about half of the people who ordered the material and they have been so very nice about it. However, I know some are disappointed as I am.

Hello everyone!

I'm new to the forum, having just found you an hour ago. Though I'm a good student and learning a lot of new things: Champagne Girl. Poker. Fish Extenders. Door Decorations.

I must say, you all are very busy bees.

Hopefully I'll get to know all of you better in the weeks to come, because our cruise is creeping up on us!

WELCOME!

I'm Jackie and will be cruising with my sister-in-law Pam (as well as a whole bunch of DISboard friends). We both survived cruising with her grandchildren (my great neices and nephew) last November...now we're taking a big long one on our own to recover. :rotfl: We had also cruised together on the EBTA (that's EastBountTransAtlantic) in the spring of '10 along with my pal Monica (as well as a whole bunch of DISboard friends).

Our lucky 13th cruise with Disney :dance3:- no cruises with anyone else. :cool2:

Angie, it will be lucky 13 for me too! All DCL. :thumbsup2

Well, both the DIS and my computer have been behaving themselves this morning, so I've been able to do some catch up. Now it's off to my PM list as I think there are some message their I tried to respond to over the last couple of weeks and either the DIS or my laptop weren't cooperating!

I check everyday to see what the price difference is between our 11B and a 10C - hoping it comes down to about $500 or less...we're not there yet.:rolleyes1

BUT - I did notice that my same 11B was cheaper online today than when we booked - so I went ahead and rebooked our reservation in the same category and selected the same cabin and we got a $28.52 refund.:cool1:

I'm sure you may be able to call DCL to do this too, but the difference was the taxes and fees part of the cruise fare. Every penny counts these days for many, so I thought I'd share.

Looking forward to getting to CA in 84 days.

Yes, I noticed this a few days ago and mentioned it on the facebook group. The difference was $32 for me. Maybe I should check again, haha! Asked my TA about it and she said she had not yet seen any credits coming through for the Hawaii cruises, but I completely agree with you - every penny counts - so if I don't hear something more in the next week or so I'll ask her to call DCL for me. At the very least the refund is worth three or four drinks at Cove Cafe.

My adult daughter and I are looking for two people to share our room at Aulani for a day. We booked excursion via Disney for the $400 room for 4, but would be more affordable if there are 4 of us at $100 each instead of 2 at $200 each for the day. Anyone interested please PM me.
