Leaving tomorrow and so excited!! We have an evening flight which also happens to be tired/cranky time for our 3 kids under the age of 6....things could get ugly!! Not feeling stressed though cause we're going to WDW!!!! I hope all of you have safe and uneventful travels and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone on the boat!

I dread the flight so much :( We leave LAX at 8:35 and won't get into Orlando until like 4:20 with the 3 hour time difference!

WHAT? You don't get in until just after noon?

Ok, we'll wait for you. I'm going to email you our cell numbers to make sure you have them. :)

12:05 according to AA and you knew that.

Got your e-mail and just replied. I had you and Mike both in my phone but not your new number. All updated.

Yeah, I knew that. :) Just kiddin' around with you. :) We'll wait even if you get a big big snowstorm and you're delayed. :lmao:

Yikes! No more snow! Though with all the groundings AA was doing we were developing a plan to rent a car and drive down if needed. If that was the case you wouldn't be waiting for us as we'd get there sometime on Saturday.

I realized I never did show our door signs as promised.

They were made for our May '06 cruise but are still in good shape so we'll be using them again.

Good morning everyone. Happy Monday!

I've used up all the tips of the day I had on file. So today if you don't mind I will just give some advice based on 10 past DCL cruises.

  • No matter how prepared you think you are double check your paperwork and id's before leaving home to make sure you have them. If you didn't fill out your paperwork online make sure you fill it out before getting to the port.
  • If you can get to the port early do it. It will give you time to look around, take pictures, see some of the characters, and you just might meet up with some of your fellow DISers.
  • If your kids are eager to use the pools have them dressed with their swimsuits under their clothes. You won't find the pools any emptier than you will on this first afternoon.
  • Make sure that you head to the safety drill in a timely manner. The quicker everyone gets checked in the quicker it will be over. Also it is a good idea to talk to your kids well before the drill to prepare them. Let them know there will be loud horns blowing.
  • If you want to be up close for the sail away party head to the Goofy pool on deck 9. A dance floor covers the pool and you will be right in the action. Want to watch instead of dance? Then head up to deck 10 for the party.
  • As we start to pull away check out the outside of the terminal. There will be some CM's with a nice little good bye for you.
  • If you are going to miss any dinners due to Palo or the decision to eat at Topsiders please be considerate of your serving team and let them know ahead of time.
  • Speaking of being considerate. Don't hog pool chairs. They are not to be saved. Sure you can put your towel and book down to go get a drink or to use the pool but doing that at 7 am and then showing back up at noon is a no no and your stuff should be removed.
  • Respect the adult only areas. If your child wants attention please don't go there to escape only to have the child keep coming and whining for you (this really happened on one cruise). It is not fair to the other adults there.
  • Remember this saying on Castaway Cay: Take only memories and photos and leave only footprints.
  • If you can't make it to the disembarkation talk you will find it on your TV that afternoon/evening.
Most of all if you do nothing else please go into this whole thing with the feeling that you are going on a great vacation with family. There are things that can't be controlled like sometimes missing Castaway Cay.

Ok off my soap box.

Good Morning Crazy Cruisers!!! I would have posted sooner, but we have been a little busy. We arrived very safely on Saturday morning. There was a caravan of four families all driving together and that made the trip alot of fun. The miles passed very quickly trying to keep up with each other and meal breaks were much more relaxing having other adults to talk to and not feeling rushed to to back in the car. The weather is absolutly beautiful!!! We did MGM (or whatever its called) yesterday. It started to get a little hot in the afternoon so we were just there till about 3 then came back to resort and used the pool, BBQ'd with the friends and, sat around the fire pit roasting marshmallows! Well its off to Epcot my favorite park today. I am counting down the minutes till Saturday!

We also have that in the back of our heads. I'd hate it, but we'd get down there......somehow.

mary mentioned about checking your paperwork to see if it is all there. well, this is a true story.
my dsil and her husband and two grandchildren bookd a cruise. 4 day cruise with dcl. dsil did not check her paperwork to see when they were leaving, she thought she would just leave it up to the car company they had hired who would call them 8 hours before pick up. she thought she knew the date so was prepared to leave on the monday. car company forgot her so did not pick them up sat. night to take them to the airport. long story short, they missed the boat and had to fly to bahamas to meet it. :headache:
can you just imagine. should have directed her to the dis don't you think.

omg 5 days!! I think it's finally starting to hit me that we are indeed going on a Disney cruise on Saturday!! I get teary eyed just thinking about it every time! I'm a sap, you will quickly learn, and will cry over anything!!

regarding the paperwork to print out... there IS only one sheet you need to print right?? Just making sure I have it all.

U-TOP on Monday morning! Is this our last page before Crazy Cruisers part 2?

Welcome to Florida! :thumbsup2

If you get a chance, try to go back to ex-MGM in the evening to see the Fantasmic show. Its one of our favorite park closing shows.
