G Ive been doing WW for 2 weeks and have lost 10.2 pounds. Hoping Ill be secure in the program and will take the week off to enjoy the food, but not too much!

Wow! That's GREAT! Wish I was losing weight.
I'm gaining muscle. That's what I keep telling myself. :)

I joked with Mike that I wanted to request a special diet.....
"no trans fat and no high fructose corn syrup."

I wonder if there would be ANYTHING I could actually eat on the ship!

U TOP!

Welcome Bumblebee!

I'm the one Mary mentioned in her post.
It'll be me, dh, dd (almost 14) and ds (11)

I think you had to go to work to support my Whole Foods addiction! :)

But I will clean for you while you're gone. I actually LOVE cleaning other people's houses.

Well there is one not far from our house. Over by where you stayed when you came to visit. I think it opened a week or so after you left.

I KNOW! :) I saw it there and got all excited. And then realized it wasn't open yet. :( And that was before I was a REAL addict.

I just realized that my ENTIRE lunch today was from Whole Foods (minus the mustard on my ham sandwich) .....

And man, was it GOOD!

hello bumblebee :) Nice to meet you! I'm Kay, this is our first cruise. It will be me, DH, DS12 and DD8. We are gettting really excited!

Planning and going on personal vacations are great.
What makes this vacation even more special is that
we all got to share our cruise anxieties and excitement
with others. :grouphug: After the meet n' greet, many
of the crazy cruzers will go their own way. Perhaps
we'll run into one another from time to time. Some
may even form lifetime bonds (like Mary and Karen).
So, I guess this is a thanx to everyone who are
helping to make the upcoming cruise that much
more fantastic.

I FINALLY got our flight info from Make A Wish, it is an early flight for us, the limo comes at 6:45 am, so there will not be much sleeping going on, as I will be stressing over making sure we don't forget anything. . .

But, it looks like we WILL make it onto the ship by the 3 PM meet and greet.

zerog~ I feel the same way, I am looking forward to making some long last friendships. . .

Has anyone ever done the Tiki Hut Snorkel in St. Maarten?? We just switched to that and I am hoping I didn't make a bad choice. . .

Good morning everyone!

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Tip Of The Day

Here's a tip on how to read you Key To The World Card (aka KTTW)

We'll start at the top.

Sailing dates - pretty easy to figure out that one.

Adult - again pretty easy. This is what the bartenders are going to look for to be able to serve you. :)

This card doesn't have it but if you have paid for airport transportation you might see additional codes here. APA means that you have transportation from the airport to the port and back to the airport.

F1-APLAPLA Table:34
Here's the area you should check out first thing. What does all that mean? Let's break it down:

F1 - This is the dining rotation you are on. F = first seating (aka main or early) S = second seating (aka late).

APLAPLA - this is your actual rotation. The letters stand for which location you are in each night. A = Animator's Palette, P = Parrot Cay, L = Lumiere's. You will also get a ticket in your stateroom (looks like a ticket you would get from Ticketmaster) that spells out the full name of the restaurant and dining time.

Table 34 of course shows our table number. If you've linked dinner reservations you can verify that you are indeed all at the same table and on the same rotation.

Your name - think you all know what that is.

Disney Magic shows the ship you are on.

Castaway Club Member - there are a few special offers they have in the gift shop for members and this will identify you as such.

There used to be other codes on the cards including one that showed the year you were born but they have gotten rid of those now.

So now you know how to read a KTTW card. Have a Disney Day!

That is the great thing about the meets threads. Getting to know your fellow cruisers. Even on threads where we have been much more active things can change on the ship. Due to dining assignments etc. there were some people on threads that I talked to every day and never really saw on the ship. It is funny but you kind of find yourself in a pattern where you are seeing the same people and not seeing others.

Still it is wonderful to be able to walk around the ship or even in the ports and see familiar faces. Sometimes it will just be a smile and a wave, other times you might be able to stop and chat. For example on our May 06 cruise I kept running into two of the regulars from our thread in the early morning. It is also fun to walk into the theatres and meet up with fellow DISers just by chance. Oh and the fun of a game of LCR by the pool.

Thanks for the tips...I love them!
I have officially had my first cruise nightmare. We were in our stateroom and I was trying to unpack and realized that we had no clothes for anyone, we only had a few things so I decided I would do laundry. Thats when I realized I had no laundry detergent or change for the washers or my pop up laundry hamper. I started looking through the bags and nothing that we needed or planned on bringing was in them. :confused3 I think I better check my cruise to do list again...I feel the anxiety already!

Funny dream LCtonra.

Here's a tip of sorts - it stems from what happened our last cruise (almost a nightmare turned real): I dropped the family and luggage off at the front and went by myself to park the car. I paid for parking with my credit card and then joined the rest of the family in the terminal. It wasn't until we were checking in at the front desk, when the attendant (luckily) asked to verify my credit card that I used to pay for the cruise. I opened my wallet and it wasn't there. Talk about panic! Turns out, I left it in the car (Ok, minivan) after I paid to park (my excuse is I was tired and highly anxious/excited).. :lmao:

Now for the tip - I need someone to validate this - bring the credit card you used to pay for the cruise. I imagine that if you don't bring it, you can show another credit card; but, then what?

That was a fun game because you didn't need to be there from start to finish. So people would have to leave, and they'd go. And new people would walk by and they'd join in for awhile. It's a no-brainer game that you can still play while you chat and visit. And, you MIGHT just make 60 cents in the process!! :)

So, if you think you'd ever like to drop in on a game of LRC (or LCR), pack some dimes. :)

What is LCR?

i bite. what is lrc?:confused3

LCR or LRC is a dice game. The letters stand for the letters on the dice. L=left, R=Right, C=Center. You start with 3 dimes and 3 dice. You roll the dice and depending on what is rolled you move you dimes. With an L you move the dime to the person on your left, R to the person on your right, C you move it in the center, if there is a dot on the dice you keep that dime. The fewer dimes you have the fewer dice you use but you never use more than one. The game ends when only one person has dimes left in front of them and they get the whole pot.

It is a fun game that moves fast but still allows time to chat and laugh.

Here's the LCR website:
http://www.dicegames.com/0001.php

Another fun game (that we may just bring along) is Perudo:
http://www.amazon.com/Reveal-Entertainment-Perudo-Game/dp/B00066LF34
This one takes a little more thinking and strategy though.
(it's the same as the pirate dice game that they show in Pirates of the Caribbean)

And another of our favorites is Wizard:
http://www.usgamesinc.com/product.php?productid=850&cat=30&page=1
This is sort of like Euchre on steroids. :)

And we love Euchre. :)

And Rummikub:
http://www.amazon.com/Pressman-Toys-0400-06D-Rummikub/dp/B00000IZJB
Although we do have "house rules" for this because someone taught us the wrong way to play and we don't want to go back (b/c the real rules are harder!)

We're definitely a "game family" here. :)

Spades is our game.. :-)

Googled the rules. Looks fun. A lot like Wizard in that you have to guess how many tricks you'll win.
Although you don't play partners in Wizard and you don't deal ALL of the cards each time.....first round you get one card, second round you get two, etc. Plus w/ Wizard you have Wizards (ultimate trump) and Jesters (throw away cards)

I'm up to learn Spades on the ship if there is ever a good time. :)
