i'm biting the bullet. i do not usually post to groupy things but i LOVE the weekly countdown and this is one way to get it to my in box. seeing 43, 42, 41 is very exciting. my dh and i are going on this cruise. can't wait!

Welcome aboard! Glad you like the countdown.

The group is no more than you want to make it. We just love meeting new people and getting to cruise with new friends. If you want to join the group web page post 1 has all the information you need to know to send me the info. It really is just about getting to know each other, to recognize other DISers on board and for those with kids as a way for the kids to make friends before they cruise.

Nice to 'meet' everyone. rob and judy and this is a cruise to celebrate our 35th anniversary so no kids. looking forward to us time. don't need kids for that.

Rob and Judy - 35 years! That is wonderful! Mark and I will be celebrating 17 years this year so we have a ways to go. Congratulations! Is this your first Disney Cruise? Any questions you have we have a number of repeat cruisers who will be happy to answer any questions you have. That's really what these meet threads are about. Helping each other before the cruise and then having friends on board. We usually try to get the group together for a quick meet and greet on board but other than that it isn't like we do everything together, but it is great to walk around the ship and see friendly faces.

Huh? Maybe I've been doing it wrong. I've eaten dinner with DISers....every night. Gone on excursions with them. Sat around the adult pool with them. Played cards with them. Left notes and magnets on their stateroom doors for them. Played left-right-center with them. Eaten breakfast with them. Met up at the midnight dessert buffet and in a "reserved" section of the restaurant. Held seats for them at the shows. Seen movies with them. Gone to the adult shows with them. And even schlepped some of their luggage home to Ohio for them and delivered it back to them in another state later that year!!!

But seriously....we're all only as intrusive as you want us to be.

Mary, congrats on the 17 yrs. We're pushing 16....just a few more weeks.

All true but that is because we wanted to. Just didn't want to scare Rob and Judy away!

Rob & Judy - just so you know the backstory. Karen (ohiominnie) and I first met on a cruise meets thread back in June of '03 (for a December 2004 cruise). Since that cruise we've sailed on two other cruises together the last being the 2005 Double Scoop cruise where they were our table mates. We became more than just internet friends. We became real friends. In addition to the cruises we've also met up with their family in WDW, visited them in Ohio and they are coming to Illinois to visit us.

So you can make real friends on these boards. At the same time if you want your privacy we won't interfere.

Never fear I'll have my own. I'll even have some for Mark! Anyone else want to join us. We had a great time with it one sea day on our last cruise. Never thought you'd find me hanging by the Mickey pool but that's where we played and had a blast!

yeah, your scaring the new commer. truth be known, rob likes to wonder and meet people, i like to read my book and leave me alone. rob comes back (with drink in hand for me) and tells me all about the people he has met and then wonders back to meet more. he picks and choses who he wants to talk with and i pick and chose what books i want to read. works out well. he wanders, i will still be reading my book, with a new drink mind you.

forgot to mention, robs first dcl, my second. i went in feb of 2007 with girlfriends and decided that was where we would go for our anniversary. robs a wdw fan. for our 20th anniversary i bought him shares of disney and i think that is his most precious item, placed above even me.

I hear what you are saying about your books. I don't get to read much except on my vacation and I love spending time on my verandah with a good book. I'm not one to hang out all day at the pool mixing and mingling.

sorry to scare you. I'll tell you, I've participated on some very very active threads pre-cruise, and there were still some people I never met nor would I be able to pick them out in a line up. If someone is receptive to chatting or playing a game, I'm all for it. As a stay at home mom, I dont' get out as much as I want....so this is a great opportunity for me to kick back, socialize, and have fun. Dh, on the other hand, goes to work, socializes daily, and is too busy to participate in the threads, so he's the one who is just as happy to sit in a chair and listen to his iPod.

Judy and Rob, we will be celebrating our 30th anniversary. so far we have been on the 4 night wonder in 2003 and a 7 night eastern in June 2006. if you see a guy reading a Jimmy Buffett book and catching rays by the adult pool that will be me.

Hi Judy and Rob! We are a family of 4 (me, DH, DD12 and DD8 at time of cruise). It's our first Disney cruise. We are very excited!

I guess you can make this cruise meet thread as much or as little as you would like it to be. It can just be a place to share the excitement of the cruise, and you never have to see any of us on board, if you don't want to! I, for one, have no desire to actually meet any of these crazy people! Just kidding, of course...or AM I????

excitment of the cruise? who's excited about the cruies? ME!!!! can't hardly wait.
we are actually a family of 4 but ds's are 27 and 33 so they are off doing their own things. not exactly babies. no oceaneers lab for them. not that they are invited. this trip is for mom and dad.
everyone seems very friendly on this thread. i'm keeping my ears posted and besides, i love the weekly countdown.
