UTOP

we bought a new couch today!! At our old house, we only had one living room. Our dining room there was really small, so we converted it into a den/computer room and used the family room (which was off the kitchen) as the dining room and we had the couch, tv, etc. in the living room. Anyway, we only needed one couch with the set up we had. We moved in here in July and now we have a big everything...dining room, family room, formal living room. We put our couch in the family room along with our TV, entertainment center, etc. The formal living room has 2 recliners and that's it. I have been looking for a couch to put in there, but could never quite find the right thing. Today I found a beautiful leather couch, it was on sale for $499.99!!!!! Original price $1,200!! I couldn't say no! We also bought 2 matching recliners and plan on tossing the others we have now. It will all get delivered in about 3 weeks! I am excited! We didn't buy any tables, because there was nothing there I like, plus, I am not sure what style. We have one corner bookcase in that room that is black. The couch and recliners will be black, I worry that black tables will be too much?! Maybe a nice glass top table? Rod iron? I just don't know...I have to look around for a bit and if we are without tables for a while, then so be it. I don't want to buy something that I don't love, you know? I am so picky when it comes to furniture, it drives DH nuts!

Tomorrow Josh and I are going to the Angels game!! :dance3: I think I'll take my camera along this time!

Good morning everyone - happy Sunday!

Kay congrats on a couch purchase and enjoy the Angels game today! What is everyone else doing? We're going out to visit with my Godmother. Haven't seen her for a while. I'm also going to drop off some circle journals at a friends house near by my Godmother. The circle journals are from our 2006 Member Cruise group. We have a large group doing them and I'm not scheduled to get mine back until we are back from this April 2008 cruise!

Good morning everyone! Happy Monday! Back to work for me.

What does everyone else have planned for today? Whatever it is hope you all have a good one!

morning all! Our weekend was great! We went to the Angels game yesterday, and even though they lost, it was a great game, and we had so much fun! The only bad thing was the section we sat in was in direct sunlight until the 8th inning. And it was HOT! In the section we always sit in, which is called the "diamond club", you get in-service seating, and well...that means all those people that drink alcohol don't have to get their bootie out of their seat to get a refull! :sad2: Which means they are likely to buy more. You'd think at $93 a seat, you wouldn't get some stupid drunks sitting by you! But it never fails...by the 7th inning, the alcohol catches up with them, and you have some stupid drunk yelling out things! This one guy had a REALLY loud voice and he kept screaming everytime a batter from the other team was at bat. For example...one of the White Sox players name is "Sweeney" and he screamed "Hey Sweeney, are you going to bat with your weeney?" Yeah, it was funny for everyone under 16, but it got old really fast with this guys yelling! I am surprised they didn't kick him out! He was a whole row over and I could still hear him. And this section is right behind home plate, so no doubt those batters could hear him too.

I made 2 cruise purchases yesterday. I had previously purchased an over the door organizer, but I liked it so much that I am using it for my own bathroom, and I bought a new one for the cruise ;) I also bought a magnetic dry erase board for our stateroom door. DH thinks I have completely lost my marbles! :rotfl:

Off to get the kids ready for school...I'll be back in a bit. Don't have to be at work till 10am today!

I asked this on the main board a little while ago, but noone seemed to know the answer...

If my DH drops the kids and I off at the port at around 10am, will there be luggage carts? Or will there be porters right there waiting? We'll most likely have 4 suitcases and 4 carry ons, and there is no way I can lug around everything by myself. The kids can only help so much! Where do you check your luggage? Do you have to take everything upstairs?

Also, what is your experience with rental cars? We're going to need the car a bit longer than average, since we're taking a red eye out of LAX on Thursday night, arriving at MCO Friday morning. I figure we need the rental 7am Friday morning until 10:15am Saturday morning, and then the following week from 8:30am until 5pm, since our flight home doesn't leave until 7pm (if I book the one I am currently looking at). I checked Budget and for these time frames, the rental car (we need a standard SUV) would cost us $321.66!! That includes 25% off from Costco and does not even include tax!! :scared1: That just seems like a bit much to me! What do you think? Should I wait to book the rental car?

Kay sound like you hag a good time at the ball game for the most part we had a new garage door installed Friday the old one was 24 years old and showing wear hope you are your Family have fun in Florida Karen. Kay as for drop off at the port there are porters there and when you drop your bags at the curb you do not see them again until they are delivered to your state room you do not have to lug them at all . as for the rental car do not keep for the week we are at sea both Budget and Avis have shuttles to there drop off in cape Canaveral we have not decided which we are going to use but plan to use the drop off before and pick up after getting the original car at Orlando international airport Mike

Disney has the drop off down to a science. You will be directed to the drop off area. If it is open the porters will be there and take as many bags as you need (make sure they are all labeled). Then you and the kids can go into the terminal. If it isn't open yet then you just wait by the fence until they open.

If you have passports you can take DH's passport and check him in as well. He just needs to keep his photo id so he can get back in.

Once you get in the terminal and checked in there are tv's there that the kids can watch Disney cartoons on.

Good morning everyone! Happy Tuesday!

Today at work we are having an appreciation lunch because of some long hours that needed to be worked due to new systems and new clients. Should be a fun time with a pizza lunch and goodie bags filled with movie rentals and candy. I designed a candy bar wrapper and the card holder for the movie rental.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi Garry! Nice to see you! No liver yet, sorry! Type A cruisers? We are 11 months, 2 weeks and 4 days away and I am majorly stressing out, does that count?

I am seriously stressing about this whole getting to MCO/driving to PC/drop off at the port the next day! I know, I know...deep breath! I am just OCD and never having been there, I don't know what to expect and it's freaking me out!

We are having a water leak out front, where the faucet is and all the sprinkler stuff...what a pain...there is a lake in our front yard right off the front door. I hope it's not the main water line and needs to be dug up. That's all I need!!! I think one of the sprinkler thingies (the thing where you can turn them on manually, don't know what it's called) is leaking though and needs replaced. I tell ya, if it's not one thing, it's another! :rolleyes1

Lalalalalala..if you had 4 suitcases (large) and 4 carryons...would it all fit in a full size car? Or should we get a minivan or SUV? (See? Told you I am stressed!)

Good morning everyone! Long day yesterday! Didn't get home from work until almost 8 pm.

GaRry - nice to see you. No sunrises or sunsets lately. Have to wait until October for that.

Kay - I would go with an SUV or van for that much luggage, but then I'm just used to packing for 2 so don't really know what a car holds. Really there is nothing to stress about with the drive to the port and drop off. Personally I would get the car at MCO right away. Use it that day and the next morning and have DH drop it off after dropping you and the kids at the port. Sure it will cost a bit more, but you will have it when you need it, won't need to kill time at MCO and will have a smooth drop off at the port. If you don't want to go that route then do a one-day rental and look into getting a shuttle from the hotel to the port. Both are really easy. In our 9 past cruises we've only used DCL transportation to the port twice. All other times we've done it by ourself.

morning all! Working again all day today. I have been working a lot of extra hours lately. It's been tiring. How do other moms work full time, 8 hour a day jobs?? Yikes. I couldn't do it! :scared1: I am ready to go to bed and DIE at 7pm!

Yeah Mary, I think I'll just go ahead and get the rental car. I am ready to blow money on a lot of stuff, but when it comes to certain things, I'm so cheap. I guess rental cars is one of them ;)

Our main sprinkler line needs replacement. What a pain. Everything needs to be dug up. If it's not one thing, it's another, I tell ya....

Hi all! Just heard from Karen. They are at ANimal Kingdom enjoying extra magic hours and wanted to know the idol results.

BTW - have you read the pediascribe blog the last couple of days? Love it! :lmao:

Happy Thursday!! I have the day off today, they didn't ask me to sub or anything! Yay! The one girl in my office went home sick today so I told her to give me a call if she can't make it in this morning, and she never did! I like the extra money that comes with working more hours, but I haven't had a day off in a few weeks now. I live for Thursdays and Fridays when I'm usually off, because it gives me 2 days without the kids that I can do my errands. And take a nap! :rotfl:

Glad to hear Karen & family are having fun. Well, I knew they would! :wizard: Wish I was there now! When are they coming back?

I wasn't surprised that LaKisha was voted off last night, she has been going downhill for weeks. She was one of the ones that started out strong, but then slacked later on. I used to really like Melinda, but this surprised "omg, am I really good" look really gets old after a while. I am rooting for Jordin in the final 2 now!

I think Karen and family still have a week or so to go. I think they started at Vero so not sure how long they've been at WDW. She did e-mail me back and said they got caught in the rain and made it back to the villa to see the last 5 minutes of idol.

On idol I'm still pulling for Melinda. I like her! Actually I would be happy with any of the final 3 winning it.

Woo Hoo a UTOP shared with Karen, her family and the idols!

PDFG and all who need it.

Hello this week has been nice the PTO at school has been having teacher appreciation week Different things for us to set up for all week tomorrow is a luncheon. we haven't decided between Budget or Avis leaning towards Avis we will pick up at the Orlando air port and drop off at Cape Canaveral using there shuttle. pretty sure we will stay at Port Orleans French Quarter Friday night then head over early Saturday morning

Good morning everyone! Happy Friday!

Mike - we've used Avis a couple of times. It was really nice when they were at the Radisson, but we've used them twice since they moved and it has been really easy.

We still haven't decided where we are staying the night before but I think we are leaning more towards the port area.

Good morning! Beautiful day here!! It's really starting to warm up! The kids have been using the pool for a while now, but yesterday was the first day I have used it. I will try to pick up my swimming again this summer!

I am reading the TR for the April 28th Eastern and thinking, next year this will be US!!!! :yay: I am already thinking about rebooking while onboard. I'd really like to see the ship decked out in holiday decorations, so I think I will try to rebook a Western for early Dec. 2009!

Good morning Cruisers
