Karen - any pictures of the kids in costume? We'd love to see them!

Yeah, me too. :) But parents are NOT ALLOWED BACKSTAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is a troll who guards the door (seriously!)

I did talk to the "official" picture mom today (who has been granted permission by the CIA to go backstage) and asked her to make sure she got a portrait type pic of Nick. She said she will, but that won't come for awhile!

I'm not used to the strictness of this system. Usually things have been very laid back and I could do what I wanted (still trying not to be an obnoxious stage mom)

I do have some video of the Munchkins, so I'll see what it'd take go get some of that uploaded to youtube. :)

we are back from the movies...and omg...I cried like a baby!! My DD kept rubbing my arm and saying "don't cry mom". Awww...:cloud9:

I ate WAY too much popcorn and peanut M & M's!

Good morning everyone! Did everyone remember to change their clocks? We're having a very quiet weekend. Lots of laundry and just catching up on things. Going to finish the unpacking today as it has sat most of the week with us both being sick.

Hope everyone has a great day!

morning all! Today DH and DS are coming back, but not until this evening! I am going to get caught up on some laundry and housework, didn't do a whole lot over the weekend! Changed my clocks before I went to bed last night, and I was actually at the computer at 1:59 to see if it would change. I hoped it would and it did! Yay!

Forgot to tell you all that my DS got into middle school. There sometimes is a lottery if more people want to get in than they have room for, so I was really worried that he wouldn't get in. In our district, the way it works is, you can either go to middle school for 6th grade or you can stay at the elementary school! The middle schools (there are 3) aren't big enough to hold ALL the district's 6th graders. Well, some elementary school's 6th grade programs are really great, they have 2 6 grade teachers and switch classes like they would in middle school. Our elementary school though doesn't do that. We have a crappy 6th grade program and I really wanted him to start middle school. So anyway, I found out at work (since I work at an elementary school) when the middle school emailed the office staff a list of who got accepted, and my DS name was on it, and we got the official letter on Friday! :yay: I was so excited, you would have thought he got into Harvard! :rotfl: So anyway, the registration is on Monday. He can sign up for electives, etc.

Of course, I am a bit nervous about taking him out for 6 days in April. I wonder how they will react? I know my DD elementary school will be fine, but she will only be in the 3rd grade! I have never taken my kids out of school for vacation, so I feel a bit weird doing it now! My kids hardly ever get sick though, so it's not like they are out here and there all the time throughout the school year and then I take them on vacation on top of it, you know? Still...it bothers me a bit...but not enough to not go at all! :lmao:

are any of you cruising before April? Mary, I know you are doing the DVC cruise, right? When is it?

Yes we are doing the 2007 DVC Member Cruise this October (10/21-25). Looking forward to getting back on DCL!

I just introduced myself on the main page and so kindly directed me to you. I am so excited we have our own thread. I love it!!!! I will just copy my original post in here....

Hi all I am new to this board...at least the cruise line part. Usually I am commenting on the wdw boards, but for my bithday my hubby booked us a cruise for april of 2008. Its a year away but we just came back from two weeks at the world two weeks ago. I am so excited to have something else to start planning and researching. We are doing the Eastern Cruise on April 26. We will happily, but reluctantly, dragging with us our DD,6 and DS who will be a month shy of 2. I am a little nervous about my son during dinner and the shows, but I am sure I will not be the only one with a toddler onboard. And I would like to thank everyone in advance for answering my hundreds of questions soon to come.

Welcome! Didn't realize this morning when i answered your post that you were on our cruise. I'm glad Kay realized it and sent you the link!

If you go to the very first post of this thread there is a link to our cruise website and also my e-mail address and what you can send me if you want to be included in the website.

We have some brand new cruisers and some experienced cruisers so all questions are welcome.

Happy to have you sailing with us!

We are from Central NJ...thanks for the warm welcome. My hubby thought I was crazy to already start planning now, but hey we couldn't even get a room number. We had to book under a GTY. I told him we would have to plan a cruise a year in advance.

welcome, lctonra!

as for me....we are me, dh, dd (almost 13 at cruise time) and ds (11 at cruise time) this will be our....9th disney cruise (i believe that's right)

please feel free to jump right in and be a part of this crazy "family." :)

DING.....

Round one over. Round two starts tomorrow.

The Wizard of Oz is done. I was a bit teary when it was curtain call time today. It was a great show--well done. Only minor technical difficulties.... and today Glinda the good witch was somewhat hoarse....she couldn't even sing the high part of her song...the backup chorus sang it. Poor thing. You'd think with her magical powers she could fix her throat. :lmao:

Tomorrow starts tech for KT's play. Shouldn't be nearly as bad b/c she's not required to eat there, so that'll save time! Plus she'll be done at 8 and I can get the kids home and in bed at a reasonable hour. :)

Off to watch LOST from last Wednesday!

Hi LCtonra! Glad you found your way over here! This will be our first cruise too. I am going with DH (who still isn't 100% sold on this whole Disney cruise thing, but I will make him a believer and I bet he's going to BEG me to rebook, and hey, who am I to say no? :rotfl: ), DS who will be 12 and DD who will be 8 at the time of the cruise! I know I asked you on the other thread, but when is your birthday? I will be celebrating my birthday on the cruise too. Mine is April 25th, but I will wait to celebrate until we are on the ship!

Everyone is real nice here, but between you and me...I am the only normal one here! :rotfl: :lmao:

Hey, speakupjc, you should speak up more! :rotfl2:

And Mary...I know you just got home from vacation and all...but it's really NOT nice to send all your laundry to my house! I have been washing clothes non-stop today! And my DH and DS aren't even home from their boyscout outing yet, so I will have more clothes to wash then!

It was so warm here today, DD went in the pool for the first time this year! She got her snorkel gear out and pretended to be on the Disney cruise! That's my girl!! I have her brainwashed already!

Ohio Minnie we love the OHIO flags. Where did you get them. My dd age 3 pointed to them and said look its the Bucks before I even noticed them.

Oh sorry I didn't answer on the other post. My bday is March 9th and our anniversary is April 1. So we will be celebrating with brunch at Palo about a month too late. Oh well. My hubby is more then completely not sold on this cruise thing, but he was so sick of hearing me say we should go on one for the past 5 years. I know that the initial idea of a cruise does nothing for him, but I am hoping he will beg to rebook when we are onboard. He cares nothing about food is happy with burgers or pizza and can think of a million other things to do then laying on a beach, but hes a disney freak. He has a tattoo of sorcerer Mickey on his back. Plus he always feels so exhausted when we come back from the world so I am selling on the idea that he can get his disney fix in total relaxation. With my luck the seas will be choppy and he can vomit up the steak he barely cares about while sitting on the beach. (and I will still be rebooking onboard!!!)

well people...DS and DH went to Catalina (island off of California, incase you don't know) on a small fisherman type boat (Jen, it's not the normal ship that takes you over there). DH did not throw up ONCE and DS only threw up once on the way there, towards the very end. DH said it's probably his fault because he kept asking him if he was ok, and everyone around him was puking their guts out. Just listening to him tell me the story over the phone, I could feel it coming on... There was this one kid, he was on the top of the boat, throwing up over the reiling, and well, there were people sitting on the bottom, and there was a breeze...well...you get where this is going!! :rolleyes1 Seriously, we need a puke smiley! Mary, can't you do something???

I think that since they did ok on the little fishing boat, they'll be just fine on the Magic, don't you think?

This work for ya?

I think that since they did ok on the little fishing boat, they'll be just fine on the Magic, don't you think?

I was initially afraid to cruise b/c I'd get so sick on my dad's boat on Lake Erie. I've been FINE on the Disney ships even in 18-20 ft waves! :) Did throw up once, but that wasn't motion sickness, it was gluttony! :sad2:

Good morning everyone!

Happy belated birthday Laura!

I forgot to mention that on the cruise will be DH (Mark aka MarkRG), myself and Bear (you can read his story by clicking on his picture on the website. Mark and I are both March babies as well. He's the 22nd and I'm the 24th.

Kay - looks like Karen find you the smilie you were looking for. I don't think that is one they are going to add to the regular list. I think it would get way too much use over on the CB and we have enough problems with the popcorn smilie. :rotfl:
