We're going to DL during the first week of June. With those daily schedules coming out this week, I'm sure hoping for some good news today. Other threads have mentioned that Disney is making some kind of announcement today.

Even though I was expecting it to some degree, I have been surprised at the lack of shows during the week. We're going to have a great trip either way . . . Its just disappointing to be missing Fantasmic!, the Electrical Parade, and Peter Pan with only Jedi shows at DL and PlayHouse as DCA. At the same time, there's major construction in DCA.

C'mon . . . let's hear some good news today.

I had seen that...just forgot!!!

I know, the guide book does sound interesting......

I hadn't heard about any big announcements!! I did find this on disneylandnews.com regarding a new guide book being released today.

http://www.disneylandnews.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=404

Can't imagine that would be causing a big stir.......

I checked this out on Amazon and it is available for pre-order. The publication date is January 2010!

I sure hope the June schedules come out today. I can't remember where I read that they were supposed to be posted today, but I hope it's true. I'm am anxious to make up our daily touring plans...

I am so waiting..... driving me nuts......

I want to know so bad so I can plan our trip, I don't know whether to spend the extra $$ and buy a package to get one day of early admission or if it will be just too early to get up and try. I'll probably be checking all day today.
Common disney ........ :)

Im sooooo waiting!!!! We are headed second week of june and would LOVE to start planning what we are going to do during the day!!! Hopefully, they will put out some great info today!!

This "announcement" was posted on the DL news website today. It contains no information as far as I can tell. Is this the big "April 24" announcement that everyone has been waiting for? Seems like a letdown. All it talks about is the new BBQ, the celebrate street party parade, and the F&W festival-no new information!?!?!

Main Street Rocks As Disneyland Resort Celebrates Spring, With New Entertainment and Disney’s California Food & Wine Festival

Ticket Offers and ‘2 Nights Free’ Packages Deliver Great Vacation Values

ANAHEIM, Calif. – April 24, 2009 – Disneyland guests are dancing down Main Street, U.S.A., with Mickey Mouse and the gang in a high-energy show that celebrates spring at the Disneyland Resort. The party rocks with a new street show, revs up with a new dining experience and swings for six full weeks with Disney’s California Food & Wine Festival. Valuable ticket offers and vacation packages add a big bonus to the new entertainment, making this one of the best times ever to experience the magic in Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure parks.

Whether guests are marking a birthday, anniversary, graduation, family reunion, quinceañera or any special occasion, they’ll discover that Disneyland Resort is the perfect place to celebrate with favorite characters, world-class attractions and entertainment, and legendary guest service – all the ingredients to make magical Disney memories.

To top it off, some extra-special travel and ticket values are available for a limited time.

“Disneyland Resort has always been a popular destination for celebrations, and we’ve seen all kinds of celebrations here in 2009,” said Ed Grier, president, Disneyland Resort. “With new entertainment and adventures appearing this spring and summer, along with our special vacation value packages, we’re offering guests more reasons than ever to celebrate today.”

Vacation Offers, A Cause for Spring and Summer Celebration

Now through June 3, Southern California families (zip codes 90000-93599 in California, 21000-22999 in Baja California) will find the best value at Disneyland Resort by purchasing the “Southern California 2fer Ticket,” which enables guests to visit either Disneyland or Disney’s California Adventure one day, then come back on another day to play in the other park, for free! Information is available at www.disneyland.com or by calling (714) 781-7290.

For those planning a multi-day getaway at Disneyland Resort, there’s the “2 Nights Free” offer. Guests who purchase a three-night summer vacation package – three nights of hotel accommodations and three days of theme park admission – will receive two more nights at the hotel and two more days of theme park admission. That’s a total of five days and nights of Disneyland fun for the price of three. Details on these packages are available at www.disneyland.com or by calling (800) 854-3104.

These travel values are in addition to the first-of-its-kind “Free on Your Birthday” offer – one day’s free admission to a Disneyland Resort park with valid ID. More details and online registration for Free on Your Birthday are available at www.disneyparks.com.

Guests who take advantage of these value offers will find plenty of fun at Disneyland Resort, including new celebration experiences.

At Disneyland: Dancing in the Streets, Roundup and Barbecue at Big Thunder Ranch

The whole family can join the action with two new immersive shows this spring at Disneyland. Celebrate! A Street Party is a dazzling street show featuring a cast of nearly 100 dancers, DJs and Disney characters inviting guests along the Disneyland parade route to celebrate with them as they perform more than a dozen musical numbers in a lively presentation that allows some guests to show off their own dance moves in a conga line or twist party.

The best place at the Resort for hearty mouth-watering barbecue fare is Celebration Roundup and Barbecue, a spot where guests can celebrate their special occasions ranch-style with Woody and Jessie from “Toy Story,” Chip ‘n Dale and festive, country entertainment with live musicians. Located at Big Thunder Ranch in Frontierland, Celebration Roundup and Barbecue features family-style table service with a menu of barbecue chicken and ribs, corn cob wheels, ranch beans, cole slaw, cornbread, watermelon slices and a unique surprise dessert.

Food & Wine Festival: At Disney’s California Adventure and Resort Hotels

At Disney’s California Adventure park, guests will enjoy the fourth annual Disney’s California Food & Wine Festival, a celebration of the international cultures, people, food and traditions that have made California one of the most diverse culinary destinations in the world. From April 24 through June 7, the Festival features more than 600 experiences, many of them complimentary, including wine and spirits seminars, culinary demonstrations and a Junior Chef program for children. Food and wine aficionados will get tips from award-winning Disneyland Resort chefs, noted winemakers and celebrity chefs such as Guy Fieri. Unique ticketed events include “World Celebration” dinners, two nights of the gala finale “Taste, Food-Wine-Life” and intimate receptions with stars of the food and wine world. Information and reservations for ticketed events are available at www.disneyland.com/foodandwine.

Even More Ways to Celebrate at Disneyland Resort

Aspiring young princesses (and knights) will get the full fairy-tale treatment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, new in Fantasyland at Disneyland. Young girls are greeted by their very own Fairy Godmother-in-training who will magically transform them into the princesses of their dreams with a makeover including hairstyles, make-up and jewels. For boys, a magical experience transforms them into gallant young knights.

At Disney’s California Adventure park, guests will find a new lineup at Games of the Boardwalk, along the Paradise Pier Midway. The games, themed to Disney characters for the first time, include “Goofy About Fishin’,” a ball-pitch “Casey at the Bat,” a “Bullseye Stallion Stampede” horse race, and a water-spray “Dumbo Bucket Brigade.”

The Disneyland Resort features two theme parks plus the Downtown Disney District comprised of unique dining, entertainment and shopping experiences. The Resort’s three hotels are the luxurious 745-room Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, the magical 988-room Disneyland Hotel and the “day-at-the-beach” fun of the 489-room Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel. hope that isn't it but it probably is lol nothing new to report there.

What Great news . . . . Oh, we already knew all of that. I've truly gone from popcorn:: to :confused3.

Oh, well.

I thought it was supposed to be an announcement about fireworks or something DIFFERENT. What is the point of an announcement about the street party parade? That's been out for weeks!

According to DLR Public Relations, the "press event" will take place this afternoon (April 24),

and the OC Register and L.A. Times will be there.

I hope they have some good news to report. :goodvibes

Thank you for posting the link to the cool new info. We'll miss it, too. :sad2:

Any DL vets out there who could speculate on whether there could be any soft openings for any of this. I know it is fairly common at WDW for stuff like this to open early in limited, unscheduled ways. Any chance of that?

"1 in a million? So you're saying there is a chance!"

Hey the good news in all of this might be that "Remember Dreams Come True" will still be running for all of us "first week of June" vacationers.

I'm off to the Disneyland site to see if the first week of June is up yet.....be back later....

I just checked...no June calendar! When do they usually post it???

Any predictions about whether or not any of this new stuff will be going on during Columbus Day weekend in October? I really don't want to miss it all. :(

. . . but, on the Disneyland web site you can query the individual June dates and there are schedules up through June 4. They seem to add one each day.
