April 23, 2005 Western

We're doing Key West on our own. GC we are doing the Captain Marvin's 2 1/2 hr snorkling. Coz we are doing the Sea Lion Discovery & Chanaakab. When we went on our honeymoon, we did the Tulum ruins and it was great! We wanted to take our DS since he loves pyramids and stuff but DD was too young. Just gives us another excuse to go on the Western in a few years ;)

Hey, we're (me 39 going on 50 - see grey hair :rotfl: , DW young 45 :cheer2: , excited DS 11  ) doing the exact same excursions. Can't wait to see you guys Mega. Say hi to the big guy for me. Get used to seeing me with a tropical drink in my hand at all times. Wooohooo! It'll be nice to meet some other members of this board also. This is our 2nd Disney Cruise. Last sailed in 1999. We're leaving this Saturday the 16th for a week at Disneyworld and then on to the cruise, my personal favorite part of the trip :cloud9: . I can't wait to sleep on that verandah again after a full day with the sound of the waves and the fresh ocean air. Anyone else sleep on their verandah before? If only the lounge chairs folded flat like a bed. Anyhow, see you all soon!

wish we could join you for the first week.....maybe next time :) i'm going to start my packing this weekend to get everything organized. it's my anniversary this weekend and my mom's birthday, so we'll be very busy.
i'm going to follow the advice of the more experienced cruisers and take less clothes than originally planned. i have a feeling my DD's will want to go to the buffet for dinner more then they'll want to sit in a restaurant.

Hey DisneyDave,

I went to school at RIT. My wife and I lived in Rochester for about two years after I graduated, before we decided to move back to Long Island. We loved the area, but hated the snow. I still hate the snow, we've had some harsh storms the past couple of winters here on LI and I still refuse to by a snowblower :confused3

We are doing Key West on out own, just plan to walk around and hit a few shops. I'd like to go to Margarittaville and have a "Cheeseburger in paradise" :) . We are doing the Rum Point Beach Excursion on Grand Cayman, and the Dolphin Encounter in Cozumal through Disney.

Hey Nowaski, welcome. I work in Lindenhurst (right around the corner from you), but I live in Miller Place. From where and when are you flying out. Do you live anywhere near Sequams? My friend lives over there. Talk to you soon, Linda

Hi Disney Dave -
Most of us here on from the Northeast because school is out that week. We are traveling with a large group (17). See Stimpy's list. We are doing Key West and GC on our own (7 Mile Beach), in Cozumel we are doing the Fury Catamaran. Last time we did the Stingrays with Captain Marvin and the Beach Day in Cozumel.

Welcome Nowaski -

My inlaws live in Lindenhurst. They live on W. Lido Promenade right on the canal. My husband grew up there. Small world.

Linda,

We are fly JetBlue out of JFK on Friday around 1:00 pm. We are spending the night at the Hyatt at MCO, and taking the bus in the morning. Where are you flying out of?

Mark

Yankee...we are doing the exact same excursions as you....KW and GC (7 Mile Beach) on our own and Fury Catamaran/sail/Snorkle, etc in Cozumel!!

Hey Mark, We are flying out of Macarthur at 7 a.m. Saturday morning, direct flight. I did my own air this year, because on our last cruise, Disney did our air, and we had to leave our house at 3 a.m. to get to Laguardia, and we had to switch planes, we didn't get to the ship until at 1:30 p.m. Way too long!

Jillie -

I think we are both on Deck 7 too! We'll probably be bumping into each other the entire week. You are with a big group too, right?

Yankee....we booked with and are traveling with our closest friends. They are two families with 2 girls each (right around the same ages as my girls who are 16 and 13). We have connecting cabins with 1 family and the other family is on deck 2. Besides them, younger dd's best friends family booked just about a month ago ...they will be with their 13yodd and her friend, also 13. Another family we are friends with thru AAU Basketball is also onboard with their 3 dd's (18, 13, 4). The first woman I met when we moved here to NH is also onboard with her dh and 4 kids (dd's 12, 11, 9 and ds 4). And finally another family we know thru CYO Basketball and school is onboard with their dd 12 and ds.
We are in 7042...I will look forward to seeing you!!!

We only chose to do one excursion thru Disney - in Grand Cayman we are doing the semi-sub excursion with the kids. We plan to head to a beach that was recommended to me by Debbie when I booked our REAS - it's called SeaGrapes. We are doing Key West on our own - probably taking a Conch train to get around. In Cozumel we weren't going to do anything originally except maybe a little shopping, but I've heard such good things about Paradise Beach and also Mr. Sanchos, so I think we may spend part of the day there with the kids.
Starting to get excited AND overwhelmed. Told DH that this weekend we need to spend some time organizing and packing as much as we can. We'll see if that actually happens. We are leaving NJ right after school on Thursday to drive down. Kids actually voted to drive. I know - we must be crazy!!!!!
See you soon -

we'll be doing our own thing in Key West, the dolphin swim in Cozumel and Stingray City Snorkel in Grand Cayman. we booked the dolphin swim directly with the park and managed to save a little. my girls love dolphins and this was the one thing they wanted to do, more than anything. i think my daughter, kaitlin, has been talking with your daughter. our snow melted about a week ago and i was so glad. it's snowed around this time in past years...i'm praying to the sun god to keep on shining! :worship:

We did the 3 day Wonder in March of 2003. Traveling with any kids? Hate the snow just as bad. Was in N.Y.C. end of January for your blizzard of 2005. Where in Rochester. We are in Irondequoit. :cool1: :sunny:

I rented a house in downtown Rochester with a couple friends while I was attending RIT. When I got married, my wife and I rented an apartment in Brighton.

We will be on deck on deck 8. We have three kids to boys 9 and 7, and a daughter age 4.
