STIMPY - I have a son going who just turned 6 in December. Maybe I will ask him later if he wants me to post a message with him so that he can meet someone from the cruise. I have a feeling that he'll think that's cool!

Thanks Kelly! If your DS doesn't want to, it's not a big deal. If he does, that's great. I know how kids this age live for the moment and don't want to think about 3 months from now. :)

So, we can book excursions this weekend.... anyone know what they are going to do?

Hi all, I'm a little bummed, when I called last week they told me that today was the day we could book the excursions if we were paid in full. NOT, its tomorrow. Of course she didn't tell me that I couldn't book the excursions till after I had paid in full, but thats ok. I can call back tomorrow. I booked the romance at sea package, since its our anniversary on the 27th, and I had to pay for that, but I couldn't pick times or anything, that is 45 days before. For the excursons, Key West, we want to go the the Ripleys Believe or Not Museum, and I sent Shirley (The Perfect Gift) a self addressed envelope so that she could send me all kinds of info, we're planning on doing our own thing there, then in Grand Cayman we plan on doing the Island Tour and Butterfly Farm, Cozumel, Chankanaab of Discovery, and in CC we're all doing the parasailing. I tried to pick excursions that weren't an all day affair, and that you didn't have to get up too early. Last year on the eastern, it was rough getting up early, and then those long excursions, half the time was spent traveling, don't want to to that again. We originally planned on staying on board in Cozumel, we're gonna do the couples massage and Palo that day, but I got to thinking that if we didn't do a little something there, it wouldn't feel like we had gone lol. My DD plans on posting tonite on the kids thread, seeing as we're expecting a blizzard I'm sure she'll be on line quite a bit. Talk to you guys later!

Ok, booked all the excursions this morning, changed our mind for Cozumel, think we booked the island tour and beach excursion, forgot the exact name of it, hubby put it away already and he's outside digging us out from 19 inches of snow here on Long Island. Talk to you all soon!

Booking those shore excursions on the perfect day! ;) Nothing like planning Caribbean things on a snowy, yucky day like today to put you in a better mood.

We still have to finish paying our cruise, so hopefully this week we'll be able to plan our excursions. (We've been paying in installments to easy the blow a little bit) It's been hard with the baby since she can't go on many things. We have to figure out what my parents are doing first so they can babysit or we have to find stuff she can go on.

Yaay! I just paid the final installment on our Cruise and booked our excursion. We are going to do the SeaWorld Explorer Semi-Sub excursion with the kids on Grand Cayman. We've decided that we are going to do Key West on our own - walking and trolley - it seems like a good place to be able to manage on your own. As far as Cozumel - I think we are just going to get off the boat and take a look around in that immediate area and then enjoy the day on the boat - hopefully going to the fitness center and maybe the spa.
On Castaway Cay DH and I are renting a bike to tour around the island and we've also set aside some floats - we really enjoyed that last time. We are also hoping to rent a 2 person Kayak for a 1/2 hour.
We never got over to Serenity Bay last time so I am pretty sure that is where we are going to do lunch this time. I read that they have a nice buffet set up for the adults.
The kids had a blast at the Kids' Clubs last time so I am pretty sure most of their time will be spent their. What we did last time was all have breakfast together, drop the kids off IF they WANT to and then DH spent the afternoon together. We pick the kids up around 3:00 and hang with them, get ready for 6:00 dinner, have dinner and take in the shows. We saw Hercules last time so we will probably skip that one this time but I am looking forward to Disney Dreams again and all of the other shows. Hercules was GREAT, don't get me wrong, but we don't want to have every night scheduled. If you haven't seen it I would recommend it.
I am so excited I can hardly stand it - especially with the 1 1/2 feet of snow outside right now!!!!!
Talk to you soon-
Kelly :wave2:

Booked the Tulum ruins for the family yesterday while it was still snowing. We decided that Key West was doable on our own and will grab a cab in Cayman to 7 mile beach.

Tulum is a real budget buster but we thought.....how many times can we take the kids to see something like that...hope we are right.

So I was finally able to book our excursions this morning. The amazing part of the whole thing was that I was able to get DH to particpate in picking the excursions. He actually sat there and read the descriptions in the passporter! This is a huge step people.

Anyhoo, we are doing the early trip of snorkleing at the shipwreck and reef on Grand Cayman and then on Cozumel we are going to do Xcaret. Like many of you, I figured we could wing Key West and we're just planning on enjoying the beach at CC.

It's so nice that we all got to focus on cruise planning while getting pounded with double digits of snow. Oh darn, can't run errands, I'll just have to plan our trip. :sunny:

When we went on our first cruise in 2002, the person who started the cruise thread also posted questions every few days. Everyone would answer and suggest new questions for future posting. So here goes:
What shows are you most looking forward to seeing?

For me that would be the Golden Mickeys as it is the only one i have not seen. I love the Variety Show the first night and WWTBAM also. That will be it for what i see. How bout the rest of you???

We saw the Golden Mickeys last Sept and it was good but we weren't overly impressed with it. But that's just our opinion! I know most people love it. DH and I saw Hercules...is that still playing?....a few years ago and liked it. We're going to try and get DS to see it this time. I'd also like to get to see WWTBAM. And of course, the kid's show on the final day is a must do for us! What other shows are on the 7 night?

We really aren't "show" people so if we see something great, if we don't see it, that's great too. Again, I don't want anyone to be offended! It's just the way we are!

Hi all. I have a question maybe someone knows the answer...Will we get all of our paper work and information from DCL earlier if we pay off our balance now, and can we book excursions now even though we have a balance?? Thanks

we will get the paperwork about 3 weeks prior to sailing....and YES you can book before payment in full. (I did that on Sunday).

I am most looking forward to seeing the Welcome Aboard Variety Show. I missed it last year, just too hectic the first night. And about the paperwork, we will all receive it about the same time I believe about 2-3 weeks before sailing. But I have heard on this board of people not getting until a week before. Talk to you guys later!

Lampman, did they ask you if you were paid in full or not? I thought we couldn't book excursions until the cruise was all paid for? TIA

Hey.......I found you once again!!! So are all of you digging yourself out of the snow? I thought of how many of us East Coast folks are on this cruise and wondered if you were dreaming of days on Castaway Cay like I was as I was battling the blustery snow and winds in Times Square this past weekend!!! How many days till we see the sun and feel the warmth again......tooo many!!

We booked our excursions on Monday as we had another snow day off from school. We are going to do Key West on our own. This time we'll go shopping on Duval Street and maybe have drinks at Sloppy Joe's. We booked the Fury Catamaran Sail and Snorkel for Cozumel and will do 7 mile beach in Grand Cayman on our own. We are all anxiously counting down the days -- it is especially good to do when you it's icy out and the temps keep plummeting!

My son wants me to start a teen thread for the cruise. So, for all the teens out there - if you want to correspond -- look for the thread!
