As I hear of the impending snowfall for Pa., I just keep telling myself that next Friday at this time I will be on the beach in Cocoa Beach. The excitement is getting hard to control. I can't imagine how unproductive I will be at work next week.

Hi! I have a few moments and then I have to go run some more errands. Yesterday, my husband left home an hour early to go to the mall to exchange some things for me before he went to work (he works crazy hours). He calls me to say he lost his wallet. And, I had given him my Disney visa, which is what I have registered with the cruise, to take the stuff back. I couldn't believe it, his driver's license everything. Thankfully, a janitor found it and turned it in, but it was major panic here for a while. I think Casey almost fainted. He said he knew if he didn't find it, he couldn't come home. I told him I hope I'm not that mean.

Amy, it sounds like you will finish on time. Fingers crossed.

We are going to go get the fish scale this weekend. I HATE Walmart. I try to only go there every 2 years or so. But, I want that scale! Why is Target so much nicer?

I can't believe we leave in 5 days (I don't count today)!!!!! It will be our first trip to Disney World. We are only going to Magic Kingdom one day. The rest of the time we want to relax, plus I want to try that Ghiradelli sundae at Downtown Disney. I have been on Weight Watchers for 7 months and I am so nervous about blowing it on vacation, so I'll split it with Casey and not eat lunch.

Amanda, I can't wait to see a picture of that cake! Wish I was that creative.

I don't plan on bringing any extra goodies for the counselors or servers, but I figured if I saw something in one of the ports, I might bring it back. I hope our servers are better than last time. They were okay, but the first night I was so excited to be there, and after reading on the boards I decided to be HUGELY gluttonous and order all of the desserts for the 4 of us to split (it ended up being 6 total I think). That didn't go over well. I felt like such a pig and I will definitely not be doing that again.

Hi everyone.....the countdown is really on here.

We take off for Florida on Sunday so it's last minute things going on around here. Last day of school for my kids was today and guess what....snow day, no school!!

So, the kids didn't get any homework from their teachers! They were pretty good about them missing two weeks of school. I don't want them to have a ton of work when we get back, so I called the school and the vice principle was in and I had a call from DS's teacher and he has a math assignment due when he returns. DD's teacher gave her a pretty good idea of what she should work on, but we don't have anything formal.

Better get back to packing

Hi everyone!! I still can't believe that a week from TODAY that I'll be sitting in my hotel room in Orlando, trying to get some sleep for the next day!!!

Anyway, I'm still plugging away on my dining room and I think that it'll be done by tomorrow early afternoon. In the meantime, my mom has been working on a project for me (actually for the girls) for some Pirate Mickey dresses. She just got them done and is mailing them to me tomorrow, but she had my neice model Madison's dress and it is SO cute!!!

I swiped the idea from eBay, and I think that a DISer actually came up with the original design. Mine is a little different, but I do think that it turned out cute!!

Me and Ed went out today to buy the ink and the blank door magnets. I remember the last time I purchased them I think there were 10 to a package for $12.......Now there were only 4 to a package for the same price!!!
I remember that because I made door signs for everyone on the cruise (there were like, 17 families) but the only thing I asked for was $2.00 to cover the costs of the door signs...I distinctly remember that. Does anyone else remember the door magnets being a lot less expensive?

Well, I've been studying, doing laundry; studying, changing sheets; studying, putzing around...Tomorrow I have a test, and then I've made it clear to everyone in this house that we are Finalizing Our Packing!!!

Sunday is supposed to be Horrible here on the East Coast. I was all set to get my lesson plan ready for the week, and the week that we'll be away.
Then my sister calls me earlier and tells me:

I love my sister, and as I've told you before I've not been around for the birth of any of her children, but I have No Time during the week. My week is Work/Work (Mon); Work/School (Tues), Work(Wed), Work/School(Thurs), Leave on Friday. I am really stuck. Her house is Two Hours Away from here, and coupled with the horrible weather, I'm sure they'll be some roads flooded out. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

This afternoon I broke out in some Hives and I was ignoring it and then while I was studying the itching became much worse. I took an oatmeal bath and I'm drinking lots of water. I'm guessing it's stress related.

Any Last Minute Tips Anyone????

BREATHE!!!
I'm feeling the last minute stress, too!! Today is supposed to be a beautiful sunny 50 degree day. Ahhh!! The quiet before the storm. We are expecting a lot of rain, high wind and very stormy weather over the next few days. I'm a bit freaked out because of what happened last year. We were supposed to have new carpeting put in our basement this weekend but I decided against it. We will have it installed when we come home. (too much rain predicted!!) I will make sure to lift our computer high when we leave. Last year, I woke up to our computer floating during one of these storms.

All I want to do is sit, read and close my eyes. It's hard to believe that this time next week we will be driving towards the port.

Amy, the dress is adorable. I really enjoyed dressing my daughter up when she was that age. Enjoy this age. It really does go by so quickly.

Amy, that is the cutest dress -- perfect for pirate night. I cannot sew worth anything -- not many domestic bones in this body. My grandmother used to make my daughter the cutest dresses -- she died when my daughter was three. We have kept all the dresses to give her when she grows up.

We have three days left and already we cannot sleep. Vallen has been working until 3:00 every morning trying to get the rough draft of his dissertation done. We can't wait until we get on the plane and there is nothing we can do about anything that is not done. That is such a good feeling.

I'm off to take the boys to work. Have a great Saturday.

Amy, I saw your posts on the main board about the SPH rooms (I knew you'd be there giving your so I checked it out!) You mentioned no steamer trunks, and I don't think ours will have one either (no bump out, and I think I read in room reviews that it doesn't have it). Is there enough drawer space without one? The canvas hanger is a good idea, but I don't know if it would be necessary. I looked at the pictures on DCL website, and it looks like there's quite a few drawers by the desk area, but I'm unsure if it's enough for everyone's shorts and undies.

I know you're busy trying to get everything finished up for tomorrow so if you don't have time to respond until Monday or so, that's fine. Good luck with everything this weekend!

Corryn, I was looking through the posts from earlier this week looking for Kathy's seasickness recommendation, and I forgot I was going to respond to this last night! I think Amanda had a great idea (which I stole from her!) and laminated signs printed on regular paper. We have these little adhesive magnet squares called MagTabs that we put on the back of pictures to hang on our fridge and Justin's metal storage cabinets in the garage (he has photos of choppas from our Sturgis trips), so I'm putting those on the back. I get ours at Menards (I think their stores are only in the central U.S.), but they're in the painting/tape area there. They're $4.29 for 40 magnets--alot cheaper than the magnetic pages!

And speaking of stealing ideas, I got my Disney font downloaded and labels printed out last night to put on my signature photo mat to take to GS for character sigs. (Did you all see that thread on the main board a couple weeks ago? COOL IDEA!)

Thanks for all the nice comments on my mom's handiwork!! She truly is amazing!! She's been sewing since she was a little girl, and thankfully, myself and my sister have reaped the benefits (we have 5 girls between us). She even made my wedding gown and all my bridesmaid's dresses. I can sew, but not nearly as well (and quickly) as she can!!!
