April 21, 2007 -- Western Magic -- anyone?

Since it appears most of us are still waiting on docs, is anyone else besides us waiting on passports? We applied for the boys' passports on 02-12-07, and they're still not even in the system. DH and I applied a week later (we didn't have the "official" birth cert), and ours are showing up with a passport number, but it doesn't say anything about a date of when to expect them. It just says 10 weeks after applying, even though when we applied, they were still saying 6-8 weeks to receive them. But I think we all know that 10 weeks is stretching the truth a little. It also says to call if you're within 10-14 days of traveling, so Friday or Monday, I'll probably be on the phone all day long trying to get them sent out ASAP.
Wow, both of our girls' passports showed up incredibly quickly. I think that Emily's was back in about 2 weeks, and Madison was 3 weeks. This was a couple of years ago though, before everyone was trying to get them. And, I figured that the kids were quicker, since they were babies and it's not like they're fugitives!!!:rotfl2:

Chris will need to renew his next spring, since it's been almost 10 years. He used to travel to Canada for work Monday - Friday years ago, so a passport was much easier. Then, since he was working in Canada during the week, I started going up there to visit him, so I got a passport. And, we took Emily when she was 2 to the Bahamas for my best friend's wedding, so she got a passport. Then, since the 3 of us had passports, we just got Madison one too. Thankfully, they all renew at different times, so we don't have to do it all at once.

ok, we didn't get passports  we are going old-fashioned with birth cerifiticates. still legal. are we the only ones?? Preston has one from traveling for work, but girls and I don't. too late now i guess. we don't have plans to travel out of country after this so we didn't see a reason for the expense.

no documents here. when they come and say passports only i will FREAK out  this will not happen right?

You will be fine. I'm pretty sure that that the passport requirement isn't until 2008 now.

We also only have birth certificates. I made sure when I made the final payment that this was OK, and it was.

Mark had to renew his last year, it was at the 10 year mark. So we sent it about a month before expiration. I applied in Nov. last year & got mine back within a month. However for Emily, we're just going with the birth cert. for now. I had best intentions last year of doing it before this mad rush, but never did. Since the laws haven't changed yet, I'm not worrying. We'll apply for hers sometime late this year, so when we decide to cruise again we'll be set. :thumbsup2

Oh, and Val, when I applied for mine I kept checking the site about 3 weeks after, and no info. was in there. It appeared online about a week before I got the passport in the mail. Go figure. You could always call them now & make sure they do have the info, and maybe they can give you a better idea of when to expect them.

Hi Everyone!

Whew! I have been busy the last couple of days. On Saturday we worked outside cleaning up the branches and getting things back in shape after the winter. Wanted to get a head start on it since we'll be away and won't be back till May 6th.

Work has been pretty busy for me the last 2 weeks. I'm usually stalking during the day but everytime I think I have a couple extra minutes, my phone rings or a patient comes in. Don't they know I can't do without my cruising buddies? :confused3

I'm so excited, on Saturday Eric was offered another job and excepted it. This means that his last day at the current company will be April 18. Our original plans were to work a half a day on the 19th and start our journey to FL in the afternoon. Since his last day will be the 18th, I took off the whole day on the 19th and we will leave in the AM  This way we can arrive in FL early on Friday and enjoy some time exploring Cocoa Beach :beach:

On Monday, I received a email from our travel agent (we booked online ) that our documents are in and she has sent them priority mail. We should be getting them in 2-3 days. I'll let everyone know when we get them.

I'm pretty much set with the packing, just have to transfer the stuff from the bed in the spare room to the suitcases.

Well, I'm beat. Time to watch idol then get some sleep. I can't wait for vacation, work is killing me.

I believe that if you cancel the excursion before you get onboard, you'll be fine. But, I think that once you get on the ship, you will have a penalty if you cancel.

....Countries: Ireland, Canada, Bahamas, my husband has been to Canada and Korea, our boys were born there and he took our oldest on a trip to visit the country of his birth a couple of years ago, I stayed home with the little guy, hopefully in another 10 yrs we will make the trip again so youngest DS can see his birth country too.. Would love travel more, hopefully someday....

CTC917 - An Nyung Ha Sim Ni Ka, Yul Il Gop days until the cruise. Yes, my DS and I take Tae Kwon Do lessons. Our master is sponsoring a trip to South Korea this summer. I have all my vacation days planned this year, but definately would love to go there some time and try some kim-chi.

An Nyung Hee Kye Sip Si Yo

If birth place is Canada Labatts ay! or You skate ay!

Val - On our trip (RVing) through Nebraska(saw Chimney Rock) we took Route 80 right by Grand Island to Omaha, I think.

dadlvsdisney: my husband and older son loved the kim-chi I on the other hand tried it once and didn't like it at all, but then I'm a very plain food eater. Too bad you couldn't of gone to Korea my husband and son loved their trip..

So I tried contracting my TA for our documents and she is out of the country until Monday and we leave on Tue the 17th so what do you think are my odds of getting my documents(you do have to get them from your TA if you have one, correct?)before I leave. So what happens if I dont get my documents before we leave? Will this be a problem?

Cheryl
