April 21, 2007 -- Western Magic -- anyone?

Ok, I have one about my DH!! DCL has an 80s night on board, and at some point, they bring up a few guys and a few girls and they create a "band". The girls are supposed to be the Go-Gos and the guys are Bon Jovi. They have wigs and everything. Well, while I was in the room sleeping with the girls, he was out and got picked to be in "Bon Jovi". Unfortunately, I have no pictures to blackmail him with, since I wasn't there, but apparently it was hysterical!!! He's a ham anyway, so I know that he enjoyed it!!!

I don't know if I have any great secrets on DH though - his main thing is he thinks everybody he meets looks like someone else that he knows. On our very first date we headed to a large local mall, and he kept pointing out different people, saying "That looks like ________" fill in the blank with a random celebrity, or local personality. When we were in Hershey last year in line for the chocolate "factory" tour, he saw a man that reminded him of his brother. So he says "Pretend to take my photo, and I'll duck, and you take that guy's back there instead. If he looks blame it on me for moving. But I've GOT to show mom how much this guy looks like my brother!" He's always doing weird stuff like that. Never a dull moment in our house. Never! Oh, and yes, I did take the photo of the guy. He never even noticed, thank goodness!
OMG - that's my DH!!! We go just about everywhere, and there is almost always someone that either he recognizes or it's someone that looks like someone else. Sometimes, I just roll my eyes now, because he always knows "someone".:lmao:

oh my gosh you guys, i am SOOOOOO far behind here!!

i have skimmed and saw some wonderful pictures but i must go back and read!! unfortunately i can't yet -- things to do today and next weeks girls will be back at school and i'm not scheduled to work at all (yet!) so maybe? but sometime i must pack!! LOL

1. Do you have any pets? If so, what? how many? names?

yes we do!! my girls are very into animals. We have two dogs, first a mutt we rescued from the shelter named Sparky (part beagle, mini-pin, dachshund we think) and Taylor trained him and showed in through 4H. she did really well and eventually convinced us to get another dog, AKC papered and all so she could show year-round, so we added our miniature wire-haired dachshund Eli to the family 2 years ago. Paige has a hamster and Taylor has a beta fish too.

2. What's the one place that you've never been, but want to go?

Europe for me -- for the family we hope to travel out west in a couple years, maybe do a dude ranch type vacation

3. What's your favorite sport to watch or play?

ok i'm not into sports :rolleyes1 to keep somewhat in shape I do alot of what i call powerwalking and will be participating in my 5th half-marathon the Saturday before we cruise :yay: Preston likes to watch football (another Dallas Cowboys fan and of course OSU BUCKEYES ) he enjoys playing volleyball and softball; Taylor enjoys volleyball too. Paige is our dancer, jazz and ballet for 5 years.

4. If you were on a deserted island, what one thing would you want with you?

hmmm...makes me think of Survivor -- anyone watch it yet! Paige and I did last night and were cheering! anyhoo --- Jack Sparrow with 'the rum' :rolleyes1  :rolleyes1 now you all have to watch POC this weekend :thumbsup2

5. What kind of car do you drive? What color?

I drive a mini-mom-van -- silver Olds Silhouette, last year model before GM stopped making Oldsmobiles, 2002. this we will drive until it cannot drive anymore. Preston drives a white 1995 Grand-Am; God love 'im  He/we bought just before we got married and it just keeps on keeping on. He only drives about 7 miles to work so it's got a good life now

and we drink pop with our subs. i was kinda confused on the milkshake thing -- those are yummy treats made with milk and ice cream of course! and a PB & J from 50's diner is a given on MGM day! what the hey? i'm so :confused3 better go back and really read!! i have heard of 'grinders' -- we have a neighbor/good friend across the street originally from PA and at times we are forced to a view of a Phil Eagles flag flapping in the breeze. i thought the Eagles fan would appreciate our pain

ok -- i gotta get out and get my walk done for today  still fighting off a sinus thing but life goes on. i hope i hope i hope to get a chance to catch up tonight! AND i have tried 3 times to upload more photos on the DIS photo account and it's not worked right! urgh!! more coming.....

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl:

:rotfl2: Oh, THAT's FUNNY!!!!!:rotfl:
I Love Goofy stuff like that!
that's what I really meant - this way when we meet each other, we really know what's inside that stuffy exterior!

Right now we have the A-Team, Wonder Woman, Dukes of Hazzard, and Knight Rider.
DH loved the A-Team when he was a kid! (And, of course, the Dukes.)

...... Guess that would be more like real life stalking huh? :rotfl:

:rotfl2:
Is that so wrong?!?!?!?!

but when he's "loaded" he's a pissa...
Oh, Corryn! We're going to love your Long Island mannerisms!

But we're not swingers, just to let you know:rotfl:
:rotfl2: "...not that there's anything wrong with that!" (C'mon you quoters of TV lines...what's that one from?)

Well, tell Duff I have photo for him! Yes, I actually took this one. Dukesfest 2005. ;)

Val, that would be Seinfeld. I am always quoting one liners from sitcoms. My favorite one from Seinfeld would have to be "the sea was angry that day, my friends. Life an old man trying to send back soup in a deli." I say that line every time I'm at the ocean and the water is a bit rough. :rotfl2: The Office has a lot of great one liners, also.

YAY! Another Seinfeld watcher! :thumbsup2 It seems a lot of our quotes come from Seinfeld..."NO SOUP FOR YOU!" "Contest?!? What do you mean a contest?!?" and "King of the Castle. Lord of the Manor. Master of your Domain." (from the all-time BEST-EVER episode, "The Contest." Even if you're not a Seinfeld fan, everyone MUST watch that episode!)

Amanda, now if you keep calling Justin "Duff," you're going to force me to tell him what all has been talked about here! But it seems to me that your DH isn't the only one in your family thinking that a stranger "looks like _____." :rotfl:

Val, when my kids were younger (much younger) I would put them to bed at 6:45. My husband was always travelling for weeks on end. I would have the whole night to myself and I would be in sitcom heaven. :lmao: I would watch at least 2-3 episodes of Seinfeld a night. Now that there older, I am out every night driving them and I don't get to sit down until 9:30 -10:00. The exception is Thursday nights. My kids know unless the house is on fire my butt is on the couch with a glass of wine watching the NBC lineup. I'll be sure to have my Seinfeld one liners ready for the stingray excursion. Sure hope the sea is not angry that day!!!:rotfl2:

I just can't help it. What can I say, DH is a bad influence on me. Yeah, that's it. :rolleyes1 I really will try to call him Justin though. But I'm not making that a promise. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Me too!
 YAY! Another TV lover! :woohoo: Our lives revolve around TV...(sad, I know.) Well, I should say, our lives revolved around TV...before Tivo. :thumbsup2 Now it just revolves around making sure Tivo is getting everything that we have set up on Season Pass so that we don't miss anything when there are several shows on at the same time.

:rotfl2: I won't hold you to that promise. He pretty much answers to anything. Actually people call him Jason all the time. When he introduces himself to someone new, they seem to forget Justin almost immediately and wind up calling him Jason instead.

laughing: Cheryl:laughing: thanks for the props, but all accolades should be directed toward Curlybop (Amanda)
It's good to see you posting! And hope you'll be feeling better. Thank God no broken bones in your house!
Lucky for you, DCL has placed Red and Blue Anchors on the carpet in the hallways, this way you'll know which way you're going!
And you're going to need a door sign so you can find your room, too!

Sorry about that Corryn, I thought I was following the thread really well but I guess not.

So this time I will coodos the correct person: Amanda your cars cake was great looking...

Corryn Thanks for the info about the anchors going in different directions now all I will have to do is remember at what end of the ship my room is at and I'll be all set.

Cheryl

Soup Nazi, The Contest and the whalre are my top 3 favorites by far. You forgot the best part of the whale story though. "I looked right in to the eyes of the giant fish. <Jerry> Mammal <George> Whatever" and "A hole in one."

Our kids look at us like we are nuts sometimes (did I say sometimes?). We will frequently use "Who is this?" when talking on the phone and either one of us doesn't say hello or anything. Rmemeber that one ... it was usually followed by George yelling "Jerry!"

Another one we use frequently is courtesy of Joey Tribianni (sp?) ... "How you doin'?"

I miss those shows.

okely dokely -- i think i'm caught up!!

corryn -- to link dining all you need to do is call DCL and request to link "XX" reservations together. Be sure to have the family last name and reservation number. Maybe they can already tell you about how your group tables might be? or just let them know you'd like to stay your own seperate party but be seated by the group linked. If you want to try that PM me and i'll give you our reservation number for reference.

on that note, if there are any other LATE dining families that would like to be added to our DIS-linked group, please PM me your family last name and reservation number. I have requested the APL rotation for our group. Right now it's my family, dadlvsdisney, dvc2themax, Hudson5andLennon3, and mickymania

Amanda -- LOVED that cars cake!! how adorable!!

Amy -- thanks for sharing your pics! i share the comments of cuteness on the shirley temple pic! my DD has been talking about shirley temples too! i didn't remember but she told me that after our drink server brought her one a couple days into the cruise, she loved it and found 2 awaiting her the rest of the week. :thumbsup2

excursions:

Key West -- nothing booked, touring on our own with electric car
GC -- nothing booked, planned to taxi to turtle/butterfly farm
Cozumel -- 2 p.m. Royal Dolphin Swim booked
CC -- parasailing at 2:30 p.m.

sorry i'm not a Seinfeld fan :scared: i never really watched it i guess, my girls were little when it was big and i just missed it all. now despite myself i have become a reality show junkie -- Apprentice and Survivor mostly. yes i watched Martha's apprentice too :upsidedow I also watched the Law Firm, did anyone else in America? i doubt it. i think that was the name, it was lawyers in real life court cases competing for a high-fluentent lawyering job. beyond that i'm a drama queen. nowadays it's Grey's, 24, CSI, Criminal Minds. Preston often wonders if sleeping heavily would be a good idea. I read authors like Patricia Cornwell, James Patterson, and John Grisham. i'm not dark, really i'm not. i just play one on TV

corryn -- thanks for linking all our pics together! I bookmarked the post so i can try real hard to put names, usernames, faces, kids and spouses together! i'm terrible with that :headache:  did you all know you can pull up a single post -- just click on the post number (you referred to it Val) and you can link directly to the post or bookmark it whatever. i just learned that recently myself

ok -- my turn for pictures......................

31040pools_6_-med.JPG

ok, whereabouts it that fantastic photobucket tutorial? i was uploading on the DIS photo place but having trouble with it, uploaded a bunch on photobucket but now when i right click the photo for properties, copy and paste, it appears as a link in my post and not a picture?

Another one we use frequently is courtesy of Joey Tribianni (sp?) ... "How you doin'?"
Ay, you tink Joey Tribianni invented dat line!?!?
Born and raised in Da Bronx, I've been hearing that one as long as I've been hearing, Faggedaboudit!!! (and that ain't strictly Brook-a-lyn!)

BTW, I had to take down those photos because tonight at dinner at my SIL/BIL's house - it was Danny's birthday - my husband wouldn't tell a story about when he was young, even at his mother's prompting. The reason?

"If I say anything, my wife'll post it all over the DIS boards...."

BTW Did you all see anything on the news about a "sickening prank" at a middle school on Long Island?
That's BIL/SIL's kids (my neice Haylee) school. These kids bought three dozen donuts and put chocolate flavored Ex-Lax in the middle of the donuts!!!!
13 kids got sick........
I said, why the heck did they waste them on the kids? They shoulda put those things in the teachers lounge!!!
Just Kidding! (No, I'm not!)
The kids say they got the idea off MTV. But I remember that stuff from when I was in school.
Haylee knows the kids involved, and no, she didn't have a donut!

Thanks for the Update, Molli!

And those pics of Katherine Bach are great! She's a beautiful lady! I love her hair color!
Seinfeld? Yeah, we're fans! The guy that was suing Jerry Seinfeld, Mike Costanza, the guy who George is supposedly modeled after, used to live around the corner. His kids go to school with Tori and Kyra. Me and Ed go to the movies on Friday mornings and he's always there, too.
He lost the lawsuit, though. But it's funny because George and Mike Costanza have a difference of about two feet in height and our Costanza doesn't wear glasses. I don't know about his attitude. Eddie used to see him all the time during real estate transactions when Eddie was a broker - so is Costanza. He had nothing good or bad to say about him, but the guy doesn't wave hi to us when we see him, so......whatever...

As far as Reality Shows, does anyone watch The Amazing Race??? It's one of our favorites! It's something the whole family can watch.

Ever seen Donnie Brasco? There's a whole disertation behind the meaning of "Faggedaboudit". Very funny stuff.

Regarding Amazing Race, you had to be excited to see the BoSox fan get eliminated a few weeks ago. If I remember correctly, you are a Yankees fan. We love Amazing Race. :happytv:
