April 21, 2007 -- Western Magic -- anyone?

Lennon loves it, too! He's on my lap right now telling me he wants a Cars birthday party (in August!). We just got a Birthday Express catalog in the mail, and Hudson is already planning his birthday supplies for his October birthday! He's already changed his mind three times since we got it yesterday. We might need to have you come to Nebraska in August and October to make us some cakes! :rotfl:

I'm loving all the pics, guys! Gimme more! :rotfl: I showed some to DH and asked if he wanted to learn names and faces. He said he would wait until meeting everyone in person. (Then he'll keep asking me over and over, "Now what are their names again?" :lmao:) Corryn, I forgot about your large traveling party. I haven't memorized their names/faces yet. I better get started on that! I seem to only be focusing on the people who are actually posting here! And I've noticed some people are on Molli's list but have no pictures posted, and others have pictures posted but are not on the list. There are some families where we don't know any names. :confused3
Don't worry, my DH is the EXACT same way!! What a shocker, right?!?!!? He doesn't really care about those things and just lets me plan, and tell him where to be and when. He figures he'll meet up with the "strangers" that I've met via the DIS when we get there.:rotfl2:
So who else is freaked by the bed bugs? I am (or was). It took me awhile last night to read the entire thread, after which I was getting the heebie jeebies (I have a severe phobia of anything creepy & crawly & flying & buzzing...). DH asked if I wanted to cancel. :scared1: (Kind of but not really.) Then I kept reading other threads about happy things, and all my worries went away. :woohoo: I'm just glad I've got my room # and know it's not that room!
I have to say that I read that thread in the beginning, but didn't give it much thought. This will be our 5th DCL cruise, and we have yet to encounter anything like that. So, I'm not going to worry about it too much!!

Oh Amy, my Emily really enjoyed seeing your Emily. She got all wide eyed and said "What is she drinking?" I think she'll probably want a few of those Shirley Temples too. Her real fascination though was the Princess story time. She just stared & stared at that photo - I think it was just amazing to her they were "real" To myself I thought "just wait a few more weeks, you'll see!" princess:
It really is magical for the kids, that's for sure! Mine just loved spending time with the princesses. Heck, we spent SO much money in Shutters last year because she was old enough to really appreciate the princesses and she brought all of her dresses, so that she could have her Aurora dress on when she met Aurora.

The only thing he did mention was when I was looking at Amy's door signs, and he said "What are those for?" and I explained it. He said "You made us some, right?" Oh yeah! You better believe it.
My Dh is just used to it now! And, we even have a whiteboard on our door that people have left us messages on. And, it's easy because the girls know exactly what room is ours!!!:lmao:

DH's birthday cake I created:

Love, love, love this cake!!! Absolutely adorable!!!

Ok, it's getting creepy again. The girls just poured over the Birthday Express catalog yesterday when it arrived. They get SO thrilled over picking their birthday theme. But, of course, it changes at least a dozen times.

:thumbsup2 Thanks for the compliments! I enjoy playing around with the cakes, seeing what I can come up with. Emily wants a Snow White cake for her birthday, so of course I'm planning away. At first she said Wonder Woman, and that's because we have a season on DVD. I used to love watching it when I was younger. But, I convinced her that a princess party might be more fun, since we could find more stuff with them on it.

So instead I went to the fabric store, bought her some red shiny fabric for a cape, and a "golden rope" so she's content with that for the Wonder Woman part.

Ooohh, I need to show you photos of Emily's 5th birthday party. She had a princess tea party and it was absolutely adorable.

Here's the Fairy Godmother (my mom) and all the little girls!

And, since we were having a tea party, I thought that individual cupcakes would be better.

Awwwwww Amy!! They are all such beautiful princesses. Love the Fairy Godmother idea too. :thumbsup2 Where did the huge hanging of the princesses come from? I've never seen anything that large before. Emily's dress is beautiful. Did your mom make it? Love the pink cupcakes too. I found a seller on eBay that does the edible images, so we're going to use those with Snow White & the dwarves, put on either cookies or cupcakes, and edges in sprinkles. Those will go to daycare with her this year. I"ll have to remember to post the photos when we're all done.

I just love everyone's photos. Keep on sharing!! ;)

Ok, let's see! The wall hanging came from the local party store. It came in 2 pieces and I just taped it to the wall as a backdrop.

Yes, my mom made Emily's dress. It's supposed to be a re-creation of Ariel's "dinner" dress, the one that she wears to dinner with Prince Eric right after she gets her legs. Emily is obsessed with Ariel and has had my mom watching The Little Mermaid, to make her all the different dresses that Ariel has. So, Emily has her mermaid outfit, the "dinner" dress, the "kiss-the-girl" dress and the wedding dress.

That is awesome. I am always so incredibly impressed with anyone that can sew. I couldn't do it if I had to! :rotfl:

Hi everyone!:wave2:

I have been stalking most of the day but have been unable to post till now. How dare work get in the way :scratchin !

Corryn, thanks for posting all the photo's together! I remember seeing them when they were first posted and since its been a while, its neat to reconnect the faces with everyone. Still waiting on some other stalkers to post their pictures. :confused3

Val, my DH is exactly the same! I had just said to him the other night that he should check out the board to get to know everyone and he said he would wait to meet everyone in person. I was just going through the pictures and he's standing over me asking "Who's that?" "Which one is curlybop?" "When Val posts, what is her board name? Is she the one with the Harley logo?" "Who's daughter is the one with all the cherries in her drink?" Go figure!!

Our excursions are:
Key West: We are just planning to wing it. DH wants to go to the southernmost point, I want to see the butterfly conservatory.

Grand Cayman: We are also booked for the 11:30am Grand Cayman Island Tour- it goes to the Turtle Farm and "Hell"

Cozumel: Jeep exploration at 11:45am.

CC: R E L A X :beach:

Amanda: Loved the cake! All that work, I don't think I would have let anyone eat it!! You can look but don't touch!!! I love your door sign too!! I can't believe how many of us are celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. :yay:

Amy: I really enjoyed seeing the pictures from Emily's princess party. Thanks for sharing them. You can just see the joy in her face in the picture with the cup cakes. I love it!!!

I can't believe another wk is almost over. Sunday it will be April! :cheer2:

I have my door sign all ready to go. I still have a couple more lime green Mickey heads (thanks HomeDepot!) to cut out and attach magnets to. I want to put them around the door number.

I really can't believe AI!!! Sanjaya? I just don't get it. Eric heard on the radio today that there is a web site telling people who to vote for. They think that if the worst singer wins the ratings will go down and the show will crash.

Well, I'm calling it a night. I be stalking tomorrow at work, it's what gets me through the day. If I have time, I'll post.

Have a good night everyone,

Cyndi

One of the door signs - still need to upload the rest!

That is AWESOME!!!!!!! You are VERY CREATIVE!
So you're a Wonder Woman fan, too, huh? She was my Idol growing up, I wanted to be just like her (I've always strived!)
The Sci Fi channel aires the shows; are they the same ones on the DVD's you have?

Amy, that birthday party looked like so much fun! and I'm sure your mom had a wonderful time being the Fairy Godmother!
Gosh, how many people are we here? Are there much more than who are on Molli's list?

One more question: The meet in the Promenade Lounge on the Embarkation Day, is that Before boat drill or After boat drill????????

BTW, Eddie was the one who kept pushing me to get the photos together.
When I'm on the DIS and he's around, he pulls up a chair and wants to know all the scuttlebutt....
I'm sure on the cruise you'll all get to know him pretty well....
He likes to S P R E A D himself around:cool2: - he's the life of the party:dancer: (Darn! There's no Smiley with a lampshade on its head!).

After we were married for a while, I realized he married me so I could be the butt of his jokes forever (in a good way)!

Off Topic - I am SOOOOOO Happy that CSI is back on Thursday Nights!
That was my ritual - End of work week & right after my class on Thursday Nights I would TVO CSI and relax, right about this time, in fact!
I hate that stinky college basketball:scared:

Oh, I forgot to mention before that my girls are doing the Wildside Excursion on Castaway Cay

Sounds like my DH! Our friends (and I) call him "Mr. PR Man." It might take awhile for him to warm up to strangers that he's not sure he'll have anything in common with, but I'm sure he'll be schmoozing in no time.

And in case anyone is thinking about doing the free printouts from Nick Jr., they have quite a few to choose from. I went through them ALL tonight and got lots of Blue's Clues and Dora, along with a few others. Noggin was a joke. It took forever just to look at the printouts and most were not even available anymore. I'm very surprised (and disappointed) that Playhouse Disney had nothing to print out. It should be a good packet for them.

One more question: The meet in the Promenade Lounge on the Embarkation Day, is that Before boat drill or After boat drill????????
I think that we concluded that the DISmeet would be at 3pm in the Promenade Lounge, before the lifeboat drill. Then, we'll break at almost 4pm to go to the drill, and if we want, can meet back up on decks 9 & 10 for the sailaway party!!!

Hi everyone

Its been crazy here the last few days and I have finally gotten the chance to sit down and lurk too.

The last few days all this stuff has been happening first I pop my thumb out of its socket and boy did that hurt, it seems to be doing better now but for a few days I was really worried I would be going on my cruise all wrapped up. Then today I had to take my DS (the 3 yr old)to the drs and hospital for xrays because he hurt his leg, no broken bones luckly it looks like he just pullled something, of course its really hard for a 3 yr old to tell the dr exactly where it hurt so that was interesting. All I can hope is that this is it for me and everyone is healthly from now until our cruise.

Our excursions are: Key West-nothing planned maybe the aquarium or butterfly conservatory too.
GC- we are doing the submarine trip and my DH and older DS are doing a snorkel trip
Cozumel- I forget right now
CC- my son is doing the Teen Wild side too and we are takin it eazy

Oh Mom- did you get my information? I sent it to you recently, sorry to be so late with it. Let me know if you didn't get it and I'll send it again. Also can you send me the listing too. Thanks. I must confess that I am one of those people with the missing pictures the problem is I don't have any pictures of our whole family to send so I will have to find you guys. But like I said before I will be the one walking around in circles on the ship looking for my room etc because I really have a bad sense of direction...

Corryn-love the cake, I use to make cakes along time ago but I found I was doing a lot of eatting of the product and gaining alot of weight. My godson would love that cake, he's having his party this weekend(would you believe he was born on April Fools Day)and is having a Cars party...

I can't believe its going to be the 1st April on Sunday I have got to get my act together with my packing. I did find and go thru my younger DS's summer clothers a couple of days ago but haven't gotten any thing else done.

Has anyone else gotten their paperwork? Still nothing here.

Cheryl

Oh yeah! I think the episodes are the same. We caught it one weekend, and DH said he wished they would show even more of them. Lucky for him deep discount dvd had a sale soon after, so I bought it. I love getting the shows we used to watch growing up. I couldn't believe it when Emily actually watched it too. Normally she likes more of the Disney channel, etc. Right now we have the A-Team, Wonder Woman, Dukes of Hazzard, and Knight Rider. Not every season, just a few of each.

:scared: Cheryl! Your thumb sounds painful. Heal quickly, we're cruising soon! You'll probably have no trouble finding anyone - really! Maybe we should all print out a booklet just with Disers in it. How goofy would we look, glance at the book, look around at the crowd, glance in the book, and wonder if that is who we think it is, move a bit closer...... Guess that would be more like real life stalking huh? :rotfl:

I'm definitely packing this weekend. No excuses any longer - plus I am seriously running out of time! We're having some rock work done at our house this weekend, so we do need to be there should they have any questions. So, I am focusing the entire day tomorrow to getting my act together. :thumbsup2

Too funny! :lmao: I can just imagine it! We would be so in to it that we would miss everyone!! We would be looking in our books and pass right by each other. :rotfl:

Good Morning everyone:goodvibes Care to see what will be your view on the morning of Monday, April 23, Deck 10?
upboard.jpg

 Cheryl:laughing: thanks for the props, but all accolades should be directed toward Curlybop (Amanda)
It's good to see you posting! And hope you'll be feeling better. Thank God no broken bones in your house!
Lucky for you, DCL has placed Red and Blue Anchors on the carpet in the hallways, this way you'll know which way you're going!
And you're going to need a door sign so you can find your room, too!

Amanda, isn't it funny how when we were kids those shows were so "high tech" and now you can practically see the wires lifting Wonder Woman high in the sky - and Bionic Woman Jaime Summers!
A-Team - we catch that show every now and then on A&E (I think it is?)

I was thinking instead of purchasing the magnet sheets for the door, maybe I'll just get those sheet protectors and print out the signs on the regular paper, then slip them into the sheet protectors (I'll put magnets on the back of the sheet protectors) I'm not sure yet. I'll wait until I get to Staples to see how much a pack of magnet paper is:rotfl:

I'm glad to see the DIS meet before boat drill. I remember you guys tossing it back and forth - pros and cons - and I thought before the drill would be good:)
Here's a photo of "Ed & Mike's Bar"
EdsBar.jpg

I think there's a Karaoke night in one of the clubs, or is it the bar?
Our friend Mike (I posted his picture, he's Kathy's husband - He looks like a cross between Adam Sandler and Tom Cruise) He's a big Karaoke guy....He doesn't do it all the time, but when he's "loaded" he's a pissa...
:rolleyes1 :cool2:
Cyndi, wanna be in charge of making the books? :rotfl:

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl:

What a way to kickoff a Friday morning. Corryn, those photos cracked. me. up.
Ok, fine, yes, I'm back to stalking a bit today. Probably because I know tomorrow during the day I won't get to stalk a lot. But I'll be thinking of you guys!

I don't know if I have any great secrets on DH though - his main thing is he thinks everybody he meets looks like someone else that he knows. On our very first date we headed to a large local mall, and he kept pointing out different people, saying "That looks like ________" fill in the blank with a random celebrity, or local personality. When we were in Hershey last year in line for the chocolate "factory" tour, he saw a man that reminded him of his brother. So he says "Pretend to take my photo, and I'll duck, and you take that guy's back there instead. If he looks blame it on me for moving. But I've GOT to show mom how much this guy looks like my brother!" He's always doing weird stuff like that. Never a dull moment in our house. Never! Oh, and yes, I did take the photo of the guy. He never even noticed, thank goodness!
