April 21, 2007 -- Western Magic -- anyone?

Well, thanks to all for your insight in my packing dilemma! :thumbsup2 We went back through last night and did take quite a bit out. We tend to wear more printed t-shirts than polo-type shirts, so I'm not sure if the same shirts would work from daytime to dinner (or dinner to daytime), but I'm sure several days will be in mostly swimsuits during the day. I tried to figure out what I think I will be wearing each day. (DH thought I was nuts. :lmao:)

I'm not sure how much I'll be around today. I've got more work than I wanted for a Monday, plus it's going to be 80 degrees today! As soon as I'm done working, the boys will want to play outside! :yay:

I'm holding you to that. I will be expecting those photos no later than Wednesday. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

I've had no time to properly stalk today. Too much work to do. Ugh. I'd rather be really busy though, than just sitting here bored waiting for time to pass. Guess I'd better take care of all the small issues now, so nothing will remain when it's vacation time. I can not wait. :woohoo:

We have sort of a greenish color Toyota Sienna minivan. I always swore that I would never drive a minivan -- had to eat my words!! We also have a red Mazda Protege. We now have to think about whether we want our kids to have use of that and buy a new one. I used to think not, but I am soooooo tired of playing the taxi driver.

I have a question -- there was some talk earlier about Pirate night being moved to Tuesdays, but I think Amy said that it was a temporary thing. Do we know if that is the case or not. If so, I will be running with the rest of you to get Palo reservations for Wednesday instead of Tuesday!!!

On our 11 day cruise, DCL upgraded many of the passengers. We were one of the lucky ones that got upgraded from deck 7 to Deck 8. The room right next to the Walt Disney Suite.
Have any of you gotten upgraded for this trip?

Nope, no upgrades here! I'm imagining that we won't be seeing too many complimentary upgrades on this cruise. If I go to DCL.com and try to book this cruise, the only categories open (for 4 to a stateroom) are 4 & 5. So, I just don't expect it to happen. I think that the cruises that aren't quite as full tend to get upgraded more often, in order to sell the lower categories. I guess that we'll see though, since there's still a few weeks left.:confused3

Just got our documents!!!!! This seems even more real now. Woo Hoo!!!!!
YAY! I rushed to the DCL website as soon as I read your post to see if our room had been assigned yet (we were gty), AND IT IS! YAY! Did you book through a TA or not? I saw our TA the other day, and she said she would call when she got the documents. Just wondering if she's holding ours...

Amy, what room are you in? We're right next to a SPH room in 5018.

If I can get my Thursday Palo reservations, anyone can have my Wednesday ones at 7:30 PM. (Wendy, you already know this. ;))

As above, I just got our room assignment. We were Cat 8 GTY but were not upgraded...at least not yet anyway. I don't know if it can still happen at the terminal or not. :confused3

So I read in the PassPorter this weekend that GC does not observe DST. Does anyone know if the ship still goes by EST with DST at GC or do they have you change your watches like when we get to Coz for CST? Just curious. Not that I need to know right now or anything. I'm sure we'll find out that day anyway.

We're in 5520, so on the other side of the elevators!! But, still really close!!! I really think that it's a great location!!

From what I can remember, we do change our watches back/forth when the time changes happen, usually overnight as you wake up in the new time zone.

Oh, and my understanding is that Pirate night is "normally" on Wednesday night. But, the most recent Navigators on this site show that it was on Tuesday night because the Captain decided to stay in Cozumel a little bit later that evening, so they moved Pirate night.

I've been trying to find more recent trip reports from other Western cruises (not Feb 24th), to see if this was a more permanent change, or just for that one cruise.

We booked thorough a travel agent, but the documents came straight from Disney. I was actually surprised by how early they came (not that I am complaining -- it just makes it more exciting!!!!)

:cheer2: Yippee!!! How exciting, because it looks like you're the first to do the document dance  in our little DIS cruise group!!! I booked straight through Disney, so I'm sure that I'll be seeing them in the next week or so. It just seems to make it SO much more real when the documents are in hand!!!

Hey Bill!
Ed would probably LOVE to discuss this further  - maybe while lounging around the pool at the Country Inns the night before the cruise?

Yankee fans laugh their butts off knowing people are more passionate concerning the demise of the Yanks than they are about their own teams winning!:rotfl:
Sooooo True!!!!!!!!:rotfl2:
My grampa used to get tickets to the games pretty often. We used to take our homework to the games on school nights and we were usually allowed to invite our girlfriends. My sister was such a pissa though: She used to love writing something like, you're cute, on a piece of paper and folding it into a paper airplane. Of course, there were Always cute guys around - and she would send them sailing over in their directions. When they'd turn around to see who sent it, she would just sit there with a cute smile on and wave at them....Too Funny!!! We had such a good time! Oh, and the baseball game, too.....:rolleyes1 .

Hey MickeyMania! That's AWESOME!!! I forgot how they sent them - did you get them through UPS, FedEx or Postal Service?

Yowza:banana: Yowza  Yowza! Can't Wait!!!

Corryn,

I would love to discuss baseball with Ed. Actually, the Yankees are a great team. I am not cheering for the demise of the Yankees, I would just like to see the Red Sox come in first in the American League East once.:cheer2:

We have changed our plans and are not staying at the Country Inn. We have added a couple days in the front of the cruise and are now staying in WDW. We will be at the Port around 10:30 though to meet up with fellow DISers.

25 more days until we set sail!

Countdown to Cruising!!!
25 days & counting!!!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

So for a newbie here what comes with your DCL docs? Just wondering what I'm looking forward to getting.

Also I was wondering if any of you guys usually bring your own Water or soda(I'm a big Diet Pepsi drinker, I would be looking to bring some on a deserted island too)on board and if you do how do you do this? I did hear that you can purchase a case of water on board has anyone done that?

After seeing that some of you were getting your cabin #'s and paperwork I went on DCL website to check to see what was left and they only have a one Cat 4 cabin showing up and they say you can still book GTY for a Cat 4 too, so that would mean we are all booked up right?

Cheryl

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I just love it that our tickers say a certain amount of days instead of months now.

We've seen no documents yet, but I'm waiting any day for them. I'll probably be doing a big happy dance once they finally arrive.

Cheryl, if we do bring bottled water, I'll buy it sometime on Friday in Orlando, and take it in a soft cooler with us. I'm still undecided. I'm a huge water drinker, and from what I hear the ship water is just fine.
