Okay there's a May thread but no April... and I would love to chat with anyone else going in April! This is our first DL trip as a family and we're super excited - will be making the best of the construction situation and having a fabulous time. Staying at the Villas at the Grand Californian (renting points) and then an AirBNB in Corona del Mar for a few days after.

Anxiously awaiting park hours/entertainment schedule - this is a whole different thing from WDW planning like I did last year!

We are planning to book the PTN Blue Bayou package, Minnie's Breakfast, and maybe Ariel's Grotto. If the quick service lines are as long as I've read about, I want to have early lunch reservations at TS restaurants so we don't have to wait when we're hungry.

Because our kids are 6 & 3, I don't think we're going to try to see WOC from DCA - the crowds and waiting seem insane. Hoping for a DCA view from our villa, and if not, will probably just watch WOC from the 6th floor viewing area.

Ahh finally! There is even a June thread I believe! DH and I are taking our 6 yo twin daughters (his bio, my step babies). We took my kiddos in December on a much faster paced go go go 5 days. This trip is for the girls and we will be moving at a much different, slower pace. The girls would literally melt down if we tried to keep up the pace of our December trip. We are arriving April 27th and will hit the parks 28-30. We are staying at the DLH. I'm hopin to actually add a night or two, and stay in the parks one more day, with a rest day in between. That is probably just me being a Disney fiend.

The first day we are there is a rest and explore DTD day. Also hopping to see the fireworks or WOC from some location, any tips? Can we watch from DCA or DLH? We plan on watching them from the parks also, but I thought this would be awesome to get us even more excited for the next day.

Me too, me too! Lol.

April 24-30, DD5 and I will be staying at DLH and looking forward to the Dapper Days trade show /goings on. Hoping the DLH pool refurb will be over, but if it's not no problem.

It'll be so nice to go for a longer stay this time, as we're usually weekend tripers and go fairly hard core. Looking forward to taking my time, soaking it all in, spending some time at the resort, etc.

Yesterday I decided that at the last minute I may decide to drive up the 23rd and get a Hotel Tonight room just so I can check into DLH early on the 24th and get an extra half day at the parks. We'll see!

Yay for as many Disney days as possible! :) I booked our flights last week and picked a crazy early one that gets us into SNA at 9:30 am - almost a whole 'nother day!!! Excited that will be a totally unplanned, probably just wander DL day.

We're going for our second time April 16th-20th maybe some on the 15th or 21st. Actually hmmmm I was only planning on 4 days but looks like I've got more than that scheduled.... We're going to stay at the Paradise Pier this time to try and save some money. We also decided on no dinner reservations. Kids enjoyed the character meals last time but they want to skip it this year; they however want to eat at Blue Bayou but they don't like the menu. We can't wait until we go again and it not be around the holidays.

Going April 9th-14th. Staying at the Hyatt Place on Harbor. Whole trip was paid with airline miles! Taking my 13 year old sister for her first time! Also my wife and 2 year old son again. Almost time !!!

I just booked our trip the first week of April. I'm sure it will be crowded thanks to spring break, but we'll roll with it. This is our second family trip and our kids will be 6 and 9 this time. This time they should both be tall enough for most rides, which is exciting. We are staying at the HoJo a few nights, then one night at the LegoLand Hotel, then back to Anaheim. The HoJo was full those last few days so we're trying out the Park Vue for those dates.
We are surprising the kids with this trip. Haven't decided how to surprise them yet. I was thinking I might have a box show up on our doorstep that's full of balloons that will pop out when they open it.
As for food we are probably going to do mostly counter service to save money. I think the one table service meal I'll book will be Carnation Cafe. We've never eaten there, and the menu looks good.
Looking forward to hearing about everyone else's plans!

I just got my tickets. Traveling solo, flying into Vegas, then a few National Parks. After Disney a few days LA. Planning for 19-21+/- 1day, first time back since 1992 and beyond excited. It's a whole different beast than WDW.

Yay! An April thread! We just booked April 9-16 at the Best Western Park Place Inn & Suites as a Disneyland Do-Over trip. We went in August with extended family and while we had fun, our girls feel like they got cheated out of a lot of things because of crowds and having "difficult" family members along for the ride. Splitting up didn't even work for us very well and we didn't even get to ride Dumbo! This time it will be just the five of us, myself, DH and three DDs ages 13, 10 and 8.

Our plan right now is to do 5 park days and maybe one Hollywood/beach day, but I'm not sure yet. My cousin lives in Hollywood, so it might be dependent on her schedule. Daughters have already asked if we can just hang at the pool and do DTD on they day we fly in. I'm still stalking airfare from Seattle so I'm not sure yet what time we'll get in yet. We are planning two table service meals, Minnie and Friends breakfast and Carnation Café either breakfast or lunch. Otherwise, we'll likely do counter service when we feel like it as it's easier to share in most cases.

I'm going April 9 - 15. Just me. Using the last days of my Annual Pass. Will not be renewing so I will try to do as much as possible. Haven't decided where I will finally stay although I have made reservations.

We're going from April 16-23rd, first time to Disneyland! It's replacing a 10 day cruise we had to cancel as the Canadian dollar is tanking and I couldn't stomach paying a few thousand extra overall, and I'm able to pay for a portion of this trip in CDN funds and airmiles. Staying at BWPPI, just waiting on hubby's work to approve his time off so the kids don't know yet.

Also getting excited for our upcoming 4/9-16 trip! Because my 2-year-old CANNOT skip his nap (you don't want to see that epic meltdown!), we know we can't go at the pace we normally would - and purchased 5-day park hoppers in part to reassure ourselves that we'll have time to do everything we want to (almost... there's always something we don't get to, you know?).

Anyway, because we'll be there for six days, we'll need to take one day off somewhere in there. I know that Tue-Wed-Thu are usually the lowest attendance, but I also can't help but feel that Wednesday or Thursday might be when we're most ready for a relax-by-the-pool, hit-up-DTD type of day. Logically, it seems like the smartest thing would be to skip the parks on Sunday 4/10... but I just know that we'll be way too excited for that! What would you do in our shoes???

We have the exact same dates and also can't decide when our "down" day should be. I think I'm going to wait to see what park hours are going to be and then try to figure out a plan. I know my teen hits her breaking point on about day three which would means a Wednesday break would be good. But if crowds are best mid-week that doesn't seem wise. Sunday or Friday seem like the best days to take off crowd-wise but I hate to start or end our trip with a day off of the parks.

I was originally going to make my pilgrimage to the motherland this month, but ended up rescheduling for the end of April because of work. So, I'll be out there from April 25th-29th. Staying at the Motel 6 - I don't intend to spend any time at all in my hotel room, aside from showering and sleeping, so the price is right. :thumbsup2

I'm a WDW veteran with multiple solo trips as an adult under my belt, and now I'm a cast member, so I'm looking forward to seeing how DLR is different. I haven't planned my days yet, but I'll basically have 3 full days plus a 1/3 of a day on my arrival day. Departure day won't have any park time - gotta leave early to get all the way back to Florida in time to go to sleep for work the next day. :crazy2:

My main concerns are:
1) Disability accessibility - I use a rolling walker to get around so I have balance and a place to sit, and I've been told by some friends in wheelchairs that DLR is a little more difficult than WDW in this respect.
2) I'm somewhat "Pooh-sized" (particularly on the bottom half) - I can ride everything at WDW, but I'm a little worried about fitting into Screamin' and the Matterhorn, which are two of the big things I'm looking forward to.

I'm sure it'll all work out and I'll have a great time regardless, though. :goodvibes

First Trip EVER...April 7-9! Just DD(13) and Me! So excited and it's a SURPRISE for her at the end of a school trip to San Francisco, Monterey Bay, and LA! We are staying behind for 3 days to hit Disneyland! We are staying at PPH. pixiedust:

Hi all! So excited for our trip! Don't arrive till the end of April so will be waiting to hear how everyone else's trips are going! We will be at DLH for the April part of our trip.

Checking in ..... I'll be there April 28th - May 4th. I'll did a "check in" on the May 2016 also. Taking my Mom, celebrating her 86th birthday. We're going for Dapper Days and doing a split stay 3 nights DGC & 3 night DLH.
Also, joining us will be my sister & 3 cousins. 2 cousins have not been since 1980 and 1 cousin this will be her first visit. My Mom & sister have not been to Disneyland for 8 years. This will be an adults only trip, which feels very odd for me.
(I'll be taking my 2 GDD in Aug)
I'm the tour guide and planner for our group.
Mom wants to have lunch at Club 33, I've promised her lunch at the Blue Bayou (sorry Mom, that's as close to Club 33 as I can get).
Looking forward to the Magic & fun of Disney!
