April 2015 Happy Dance!!!!

We leave a week from tomorrow, I can't wait! Am also stressing a bit about the weather, I've been going every year for the last 8 years or so, never in April before, I'm hoping we don't regret it!

Thanks! We're staying at Port Orleans.

Riverside or French Quarter?

Nice. I have never stayed there, if I did I would book a preferred room though.

That's why I love POFQ, it's so small, there are no preferred rooms because nothing's very far from the main area. If I ever stayed at POR, I'd splurge on a Royal Room so I'd be sure of being in the mansions, and a River View to put me at the end closer to the main bldg.

I'm in the same boat, first April trip after 5 times going in December or February. My biggest concern all along has been that I will find it too hot. Since we have another early Easter in 2016, though, I've pretty well decided to do April again next year regardless of how this year goes.

As for the weather - I just did some checking this morning. WESH (local Orlando station I've seen recommended here) is showing precip chances for next Sunday through Wednesday as 40%, 40%, 20%, 20%, at the same time that the Weather Channel is showing 90%, 90%, 80%, 50%. AccuWeather looks like they've taken all the rain off Tuesday, and they've brought the temps back down a bit. Point is, everyone is all over the place on these forecasts (with the Weather Channel being consistently the "worst" as far as temps & precip, as far as I can see). I've got my couple of cheapo Target ponchos packed, and if I need more than that, I'll spring for an official Disney one. As long as I get to see FOF, Wishes, and at least one run of Move it Shake it, I'm happy (as far as things that could be messed up by the weather).

My flight from DFW to MCO was 3 hours delayed yesterday, but at least I would have made the connection. Still crossing my fingers for no delays on Saturday. Did laundry last night, am mostly packed except for "last minute" stuff. TWO DAYS!

This makes me feel so much better!! It is supposed to storm here in TX a ton too so we are also hoping we get out without too much delay. No connections thankfully but we do have an arrival at 7 and an ADR AT 9 - eek! Would hate to start off the trip by paying $10 per person not to eat somewhere.

As far as the weather goes - I'm fine with some rain, esp in the afternoon, but I just don't want it to be pouring all day every day :(

I'm also concerned about the heat, because my DH will not be happy if we're in the 90s and humid the whole week.

Newbie here - I can't believe I have just found this forum and I leave on Friday!! Oh, the time I could have wasted here... I'm so excited! I have been obsessing over planning and change my fastpass schedule daily. It's just as well I'm locked into days at the parks due to ADRs because otherwise I would be obsessing over changing those also.

I was actually posting to chime in on the weather and that it is stressing me out too!! Anyone know what to do if it does rain all day?

Last, is there an active cancellation thread for April?

Looking forward to chatting over the next few days!

Welcome! When it rains, its time to just put on the poncho and go like you planned to! Some people don't like rain, but I don't mind it so when it rains all the people kind of scurry and sometimes rides are really easy to get on :)

I have been in April but when we went it was HOT!

karly05: I would like to POFQ as well. For my upcoming trip in September I would love to try this resort but if the free dining promo does come out this resort is always excluded.

Thanks!! This is my plan! Picked up some raincoats and ponnchos and have packed waterproof shoes for all. At least if it is going to rain, warm rain is preferred.

Just cancelled 4/17 A&E for 12:30 and Electrical parade fastpasses. Hope someone can use them!!

This time tomorrow, I will be at my home airport - and I just hope to high heaven that my plane gets out on time and I make my connection. At this point, I don't care if it rains the whole time I'm in Orlando, just please let me get there! Storms are already messing up today's flights; I just hope tomorrow is better. And to think, I switched from February to April because I was afraid I might have to drive to the airport with a few snowflakes coming down. But I have never had so much "flight stress" before.

Speaking of the weather, though - WESH Channel 2 bumped a couple of percentages up from 40% to 50%, but they're still not looking too bad. AccuWeather actually looks pretty nice for Wed-Thurs now.

To quote from Les Miz (sing it with me): One more dawn... one more day... ONE DAY MORE!

4 days to go and I just changed some ADRs, some FPs and which parks I'm doing. Crazy and I am done. (said that a million times before but now I am really done, lol)

Single digit dancing:yay::yay: And don't you know I am getting sick. I got a chest thing going on and was coughing during the night:sad::sad:

Yayyyy, Single Digits! I will dance with you!:banana::banana:

I leave in 6 days, and all day yesterday my throat was feeling scratchy, and I was trying not to panic. So far so good today, though... Fingers crossed that we both stay WELL for our trips! :goodvibes

Well I don't feel too bad this morning. Just my chest is a little congested. I have been trying to take extra naps this weekend and drinking a lot of orange juice along with the Robitussin cough and chest stuff. How are you feeling?
